I had a very disappointing and unethical experience at Hamblin Family Dentistry. My wife and I…read morebooked appointments for their advertised $49 regular cleaning. After the exam and X-rays, they told me I needed more than a regular cleaning and quoted $2,790 for a so-called "deep cleaning". They were constantly pushing their installment payment plan, emphasizing that it had no interest, which felt very aggressive and sales-driven. For my wife, they also refused to do the regular cleaning and insisted she needed a deep cleaning with laser treatment. We felt pressured into agreeing for The "deep cleaning" which lasted only about 20-25 minutes and cost $295, with results no different from a regular cleaning. After consulting another dentist, we were told that what was done was not a true deep cleaning, but essentially a regular cleaning, meaning we were overcharged and misled. They also never provided an invoice, which is completely unprofessional. On top of that, they refused to release my dental records simply because I did not proceed with or pay for their recommended treatment, another highly unethical practice. Also, be very cautious of the 4.9-star rating on Google Maps. Based on my experience, those reviews do not reflect reality. Many appear questionable. I strongly recommend checking Yelp or using Google's filter to sort by lowest reviews to see more genuine patient experiences before deciding. Do not fall for their $49 promotion--it appears to be a bait-and-switch tactic. Save your time, money, and stress, and choose a dental office that values ethics and patient care over profits.

I went in for the $49 deal of X-ray, exam and regular dental cleaning. They tried very hard to sell…read moreme other products like laser for the gum line and fluoride treatment. And the nurse or the dental hygienist who was taking the x-rays and photos said that I had like some inflammation along the gum line and that my silver fillings fracture lines did not look good and that there were something wrong with them (basically trying to convince me to buy more services). I said no. All of those turned out to be untrue after the dentist came in and said that I just need a regular cleaning and that my silver fillings were doing the job as intended. We discussed the bridge option for a missing tooth with the dentist. Also the dental cleaning itself did not seem to be a good one. The dental hygienist would go randomly from one tooth on the lower corner to one tooth on the upper left corner and back and forth and so on and was frequently talking to someone thru the mic on her shoulder, I found this behavior to be really unprofessional. I have had regular dental cleanings at multiple dental offices and every single time there are two people doing the job but this clinic is the only one that one dental hygienist was working on me alone and during the cleaning she was frequently talking to someone through the mic on her shoulder. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. Also I did not want or consent to making a follow-up appointment but the next day they went ahead and scheduled the appointment anyway so I had to call and have them remove it. So bottom line is this stay your ground and don't be pressured into turning a $49 dollar dental visit into $2900 visit. I felt like because they have all these fancy stuff in the building they might have drowned themselves in so much debt that they desperately need more patients and whenever you go in they try to sell you other products. Do NOT let the pressure make you buy services you do not want or even need!

If I could give this practice zero stars, I would. I have seriously considered suing this dentist,…read morewhich is why I did not review publicly immediately after my incident with them a few years ago. I should have known not to continue care with Dr. Eye after he was so rude to me that I started crying in his waiting room. Hindsight is 20/20. I went to this dentist in college, and was told that I had 8 cavities and needed a crown on one tooth, after never having a cavity before in my life. I'm not saying I absolutely never needed all this work, but I am deeply skeptical now. I foolishly allowed this dentist to perform the work, to the tune of about $1500 over and above what was covered by my insurance, if I remember correctly. He somehow convinced me to use some new type of crown not completely covered by insurance, which was supposed to have a 5 year guarantee. Cut to a year later, after having pain in several teeth and switching to a new dentist in town. She discovered that all of the work Dr. Eye had performed was done wrong, that there was decay under all of the fillings, and that my crown was about to fall right off my tooth. I had to have ALL of this work re-done no more than a year after it was performed, and none of it was covered by insurance because they had already paid out for it the previous year. Several thousand more dollars and a great deal of emotional trauma ensued. Then, after having the second crown placed on my tooth, I kept getting pain and had to gave root canal therapy, which I believe may have had something to do with the trauma caused by two crowns within one year. Now, three years later, I may lose this tooth, and I believe that the shoddy care I received from this practice may be a contributing factor. If I could find enough proof to sue for malpractice, I would have. Stay as far away from this practice as possible, and know that if they recommend treatment they will drastically upsell and overcharge you. They also are not receptive to questions about the treatments they perform, how they are done, and why thy are necessary. Even if you have to drive to another town for a dentist in your insurance network or pay out of pocket for a second opinion, don't hesitate. And if you've had problems with them, I highly suggest contacting the American Dental Association to report Dr. Eye and asking your new dentist to provide a statement of the work they had to repair, if they're willing to do so.
