The interior is fairly large, with a small number of tables downstairs, but extra seating inside, there are a couple of tables which are suitable for larger groups of 4, which is rare to find in a coffee shop. There are also a few tables for one to sit outside, but it isn't the most pleasant of environments, being located on a main road in a city. While some of the chairs were showing signs of wear and tear, it was reasonably comfortable and a suitable environment to relax and work, the opening hours aren't too bad either as the store shuts at 8 pm between Monday and Saturday, which is the average compared to rivals and other Nero locations nearby. I ordered my go-to Nero drink, an iced pistachio latte, my drink was made quite well and I enjoyed it, I would comment that I do find the iced drinks to be a little too small at Nero, even when bringing my own reusable cup, but I do appreciate the benefit of getting an extra stamp on my loyalty card for bringing a reusable cup, as it brings you a step closer to getting that free drink. The barista who took my order seemed friendly, but there was a slight issue processing my voucher on the till, he was fully apologetic for this which I appreciated as it wasn't his fault, but they do need to update their systems overall as it took an insane amount of time just to process a voucher and it slows everything down. 4* - Probably one of my favourite Caffè Nero's in the city centre with good beverage quality and service standards.

I called at Substation today for the second time since it opened, it opened around the same time as…read moreSubway did in Middleton, of course taking off the name "Subway" to make "Substation" and the logo of course takes off the London Underground logo, which once again likes into the name of it being a "Subway" The menu here is quite big, they sell mainly breakfasts, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. This was my second visit to the store as I said, firstly when I called in, just after it was opened I was pleased with the service and satisifed with my gluten free sandwich, albeit the food quality wasn't fantastic it was okay, just okay. The bread used I am told is from a bakery, although it is typical prepacked gluten free bread when they do have it in. This is pretty much an average local cafe, not a typicla restauraunt, with metal tables and quite cheap feelings around it, such as the menu simply just being laminated paper, and the salt and pepper pots etc being on a cental table rather than on each and every table, you order at the counter also. My second visit, I ordered a jacket potato with tuna crunch and cheese, of course with salt, pepper and butter and I was quite upset with the quality, the quantity of the toppings was very poor, and even the quality of them was as well, my potato just tasted bland, it was dry and I had to leave some of it because of that, which was a shame because I was hungry and I hate seeing food go to waste, but because of the awful, dry taste I just couldn't stomach it. My friend ordered a bacon and egg sandwich after being told they were out of turkey, and the only chicken they had was Teryaki Chicken, which didn't look very nice, even the waitress had to look at it twice to be able to work out what it is, it simply looked thick and disgusting. My friend later went on to complain about the quality of both her bacon and the eggs, and mentioned the only good thing was the bread, of course this is expected coming from a bakery, but surely there is no point having good bread without good fillings too? The overall service wasn't fantastic either, and the food was quite cheap but sadly due to the overall feel inside, for example the floor level is uneven and slight cheapness in the decor in some areas (albeit in some they have made it look nice on a budget), while also considering the poor standard of food, I sadly feel Substation lacks any feel of originality, with the name being unoriginal and taking off something else and the food standing out but for all the wrong reasons, hence deserving a single one star rating. UPDATE: After this visit, I decided to come back again to try them out again, giving Substation another chance having an issue in the past with food quality, and sadly I was once again upset with the quality of my food. I ordered a jacket potato with tuna crunch and cheese filling, and I found the quality of it all to be quite poor, with a very low amount of toppings on my potato, which in all tasted really dry and a little hard, and it really wasn't too enjoyable which was a real shame.

She advised me to avoid the tapas, apparently they are not that great. I had the smoked salmon fish cake which surprisingly didn't taste of much. I liked the textural combo of the poached egg on top but the whole dish could have done with something to give it a bit more bite. Overall a decent option if you're in Urmston, but I wouldn't travel here especially for it.

I believe he is local to Manchester, and his energy made me choose the place. My server was simply excellent all night. I believe she's originally from Poland, and with the biggest smile throughout the meal, she shared that she and the staffs pride themselves with excellent service. The salad and garlic bread were tasty starters. The duck salad was designed to be interactive and for the diner to assemble mini lettuce wraps. The steak was perfectly grilled to my request. I would come here again the next time I visit the Trafford Center.

Once you get inside however...its great. There are little tables in snugs and nooks to chill out in or to cosy up if the mood calls for it. The Waitress was very friendly and attentive, immediately asking if we would like any water for the table,before taking our order. I had Bills Burger and my friend had a seasonal special, Chicken Satay Skewers. Both dishes arrived quickly and both where delicious, my burger was juicy, moist, really tasty and the fries where great too! My friends Chicken Satay looked amazing, it was served with a lovely fresh looking oriental slaw and a side of Peanut sauce to compliment the skewers. I was reliably informed that it was `bang on` Prices are very reasonable, 9.95 for the burger and 13.99 for the Satay. When we got the bill, there was a 10% service charge already added to it (standard practice apparently at Bills) it is discretionary, but as the service was so good i was fine to pay it. I will definitely be returning to Bills, the food, service and over all experience was really nice.

Housed in a couple of shipping containers with lots of reclaimed wood inside and out and a retro cycling themed interior, it's a quirky (and much welcome) addition to the acres of paving slabs, steel and glass that is MediaCityUK. The snug venue has plenty of comfortable seating on vintage tables and chairs, plus a log burner all set for winter. They offer quite a varied selection of drinks, from coffees and milkshakes (more on those shortly) to bottled beers and seasonal cocktails, so it's perfect for a stop in during the day or evening. Food-wise, there's a range of light snacks and hearty toasted sandwiches. You can also order amazing homemade short crust pies for only £5 ('Cow', 'Chick' or 'Veg City') which come with soft bread and a coffee cup of salad and balsamic vinegar. And so to the milkshakes. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, PB&J or S'mores Cookie. (£3.50-£3.95). Opting for a chocolate, it arrived resembling something you'd see in a 1950s American diner, except with Curly Wurly pieces sprinkled on top. It was truly superb. I ordered two milkshakes (PB & J and smore cookie), i was told the smores was not available but he could make a chocolate milkshake. Then after about 10 minutes standing at the bar, (don't know why it took so long to make?) I was served just a chocolate milkshake but with none of the additions, so not sauce, cream (even though i was asked if I wanted cream, which of course I did) or sprinkles etc. Same with the PB&J - no of the finishing touches were added to this. I'm sure if I had raised the issue it would have been fixed but I felt a bit awkward. So I pretty much paid £7 for two nesquick drinks... However, I will be returning as the place is really cool inside and the staff seem friendly. I'll give them a second chance as I heard them saying that milshakes were coming off the menu...

The Orient is the unbelievably massive eating, dining and going-out area of the Trafford Centre…read more There are loads and loads of restaurants, everything from Pizza Express to pubs and clubs. The whole area, which spreads out over two floors and numerous little miniature streets, offers cuisine from all over the globe. But be warned - this means places like Franki and Benny's rather than independent restaurants. There is also a huge multiplex cinema here, showing all the latest blockbusters. The Orient, keeping close with its name, is decked out as a massive cruise liner that basically quite weird. Apparently, during the day the roof is all cloudy and sky-like, but then at night the roof takes on the appearance of the night sky. Wow. Like everything with the Trafford Centre, The Orient is tackily extravagant, and massive.

This came to £3.99 which is probably the cheapest breakfast in the area Considering McDonald's is known for fast, impersonal service, I was surprised here, the staff member on the door greeting customers seemed really friendly and helpful, the ordering system was pretty easy, including making modifications such as removing bread. It was clean inside, maybe it's because my visit was very early in the morning and I was the only guest in, but still, it was nice to see a Mcdonald's which was actually clean. There seems to be some construction or barriers outside the store, access into the store is a little awkward but it isn't that bad. 3* - A-OK, still pretty impressive for a McDonald's. Limited menu options right now during the regular menu which has sadly removed grilled chicken mean a lack of options after Breakfast if you require gluten-free (like I do), I hate getting a cheeseburger without the bun!
