The portal is easy and responses are fast. I cancelled my appt due to a death in family and it was filled up with calls and portal message to reschedule. WOW. WOW. all i can say is WOW. I had an appointment here that I waited for for over a month. I showed up 5 minutes early to my appointment. The receptionist refused to check me in. She took one look at me, without even speaking to me about anything, and told me that "it wasn't going to work out for me to be a patient here". I am not sure what the reason for the discrimination was, since all I did was walk in and try to check in for my appointment on time. In any case, RUN don't walk to any other primary care doctor in the area. This one is not open for business. they are a waste of your time. i'm not really sure "who" their clientele actually is and what the criteria s for qualifying. I have been seeing Dr Lori Lynn Dowie for years. She is so warm, caring and so knowledgable. Her nurse practitioner Kelly Spencer is very nice and thorough. The front desk staff is exceptional. Beth the receptionist is efficient, friendly and will do whatever she can to help you. Dr. Dowie is by far the BEST doctor I have had in my life. I feel like I'm with family when I am at Dr. Dowie's office. I can say with certainty that she has helped me to heal in alot of ways. Due to Dr. Dowie, I lost 80 pounds. She is so encouraging and supportive. Tara the pharmacolagist is amazing. I truly love Doc and the entire staff. Elite Coastal Healthcare is EXCELLENT in every way. When I called Dr. Dowie's office, Leanne, answered the phone. She was so nice & most of all, patient with me. She informed me of a cancellation the following day & would get me in. I was scheduled to see Kelly Spencer, the nurse practitioner. Her nurse, a student named Marina, helped me with my initial intake. She went through every single medication I take & every surgery I've had. She was funny, sympathetic & made me feel more relaxed. Kelly was awesome!!! She made me feel like I was the only patient on her schedule all day. She spent more than enough time talking to me, asking me questions & addressing all of my concerns. She will tell you one thing in her office. Then get your lab results and send cryptic one liner messages with the result. When you ask a question back she is rude and condescending. She assumed my taking a month to get the labs done was because I wasn't in dire need. Not bothering to ask - she assumed. Doctors should never assume. Don't trust her. Her response to my question was to tell me I owed her a small balance. She's rude and after your money only. She even threatened w attorneys and harassment because I was upset with her horrific service. Don't waste your time. read more

Very dissappointed that I have been a patient of Dr. Dowie's since 2010 and I have called 3 times and sent an email to schedule an appointment. I always get an answering machine that says they will call back within 24 to 48 hours; however, I have never received a call back. I sent an email and there was no response. Other reviews talk about how good Dr. Dowie is; however, her staff is the worst. Well if Dr. Dowie cannot get a handle on her staff, how can she be trusted to provide an accurate diagnosis or treatment. So sad!! read more

Beyond disappointing in every way possible. I went on the suggestion of a friend in the area, since I recently moved here, but I would NEVER RECOMMEND this practice to anyone. On my first visit I met with the doctor. After I waited an hour in the waiting room, I felt rushed as a new patient. She did not go over my history or my concerns. She just simply asked me if I needed any refills and listened to my lungs. I went for my follow-up with Kelly, a PA, to see if I would maybe have a better experience, but this was even worse. I was there for my annual examination and certain tests that were to be obtained that day were not. I did not know until they called me to give me my results that not all the test were preformed. They offered to have me come back in for the tests that were missed, which I agreed to, but then they turned around and charged me another co-pay for my visit. I should NOT have had to pay for a mistake on there part in the first place. Two months later I received a bill from them with additional charges showing a after hours fee of over $100. I did not even go to a visit after hours. It took me over 6 months to get this FAKE CHARGE off my bill. Last month they called to confirm a visit with me, I told them I was cancelling because I was switching providers. I then received a NO-SHOW bill from them. I think this practice is poorly run and do not feel that the patients and their care are a priority. read more

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Dowie unfortunately. Cold, abrupt and she seemed irritated to have to tend to a patient. Your relationship with your doctor has to be a positive one. I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

This is with great pleasure and integrity that I highly recommend DR Lori-Lynn Dowie. I met with her for the first time today and was so impressed with the doctor and her staff's ethic, kindness and professionalism. I only waited a few minutes in the waiting room and went through about a one hour consultation to take my family medical history and my own medical history. It was extremely thorough, detailed and professional. I felt immediately at ease and after a little while felt comfortable enough to open up and share very personal information. Dr Dowie was very caring, obviously knowledgeable as she shared medical options and took the time to explain the treatment plan she picked. I am used to high medical care and left her office with such appreciation and gratitude for her time, listening skills and expertise. I felt that she went above and beyond any doctors I have ever met before. I am so relieved that I finally found such an amazing Doctor.
