BUYER BEWARE - SCAMMER. Bought a boat off Luke Ismail of downend garage Bayliner 24 - £15,000 we paid for the boat in full working order, serviced, and ready for the water. 1st day in the water, the Throttle cables seize and have to be replaced which we got done at our expense. Once that was fixed we went out and less than 30 minutes into the bay of Falmouth and the boat cut out at around 5-6 knots. Towed into Mylor and the boat was taken to a marine engineer - the advice we received is that the engine is completely shot, either injectors or something is completely gone inside the engine. Absolutely 0 compression and engine will not start - advice is to completely change the engine etc and that it 100% has not been serviced as advised. When we contacted Luke his response as a mechanic is that we must have broken it and that it was a private sale. Appreciate that we could have done a bit more diligence on the boat but we bought it in front of his business and had complete trust that he said any issues contact him - this was not the case - we won't get our money back or help off the guy but be VERY AWARE when buying from LUKE ISMAIL or DOWNEND GARAGE & MOTOR COMPANY! read more
