There should be a zero stars option truly. Forever…read moreheartbroken!!!! "My experience was absolutely devastating. After a heartbreaking incident, my beloved dog, Jack, ended up in the shelter's custody. On the day of a court hearing as we knew we were going to fight for him , they called me to suggest euthanizing Jack early, claiming it would save us court costs as if money was more important than his life. This crap about animals being property is absolute bullshit!!!!!!!!. They even stated after I suggested I'll take him to my vet that if we chose to go that route, we could take him to our vet for the euthansia. But honestly, that felt like a hollow gesture given the context of their call. As we fought to keep Jack alive, we endured the agony of two court trials. Even after the judge acknowledged we could check in on Jack in the first hearing, the shelter denied us access to him, refusing to let us see our precious boy. The lack of transparency and compassion was staggering. To make matters worse, when I inquired about Jack's condition, the shelter was always tight-lipped, yet they had no problem discussing potential health issues with a former volunteer. This blatant disregard for our rights and feelings as Jack's owners was absolutely heartbreaking. And then there was the way the shelter treated me, it was particularly cruel, and my brother was outraged. His words still resonate with me. I can truly still hear him say "Why are they being nice to me! They destroyed me. I have zero respect for those people." His pain and anger to this day are still so vivid, and I completely and wholeheartedly share his feelings. Okay and so then we had the second trial, the shelter told me to talk to their lawyer from here on out (as I called about our precious boy every single day ), oddly enough he refused to return my calls or even acknowledge my brother's visit to his office. I felt like I was in limbo, with no idea when euthanasia would happen. The uncertainty was crushing and agonizing. Then, out of the blue, they called one day to inform me that they had euthanized Jack, giving me just a week to collect his body. I was at work and I dropped to my knees after the call. My co-workers after hearing what happened were left in shock. They were like oh my God how horrific! The callousness and lack of compassion were staggering. I mean the way the shelter handled everything was nothing short of cruel and heartless, leaving my family with wounds that will never fully heal. I'll never get over this even if I live to a hundred. I will forever be haunted by how this shelter treated our beloved dog and our family." Jack was truly the best dog ever and he is so missed every second of every day. This place absolutely gutted us! We pray that another family never ever goes through the utter hell we went through. Life without Jack is just not right at all!
