Whenever we go somewhere new, we always check out that city's metro system or unique infrastructures. He wasn't with me on this trip so I decided to surprise him with a tale of my adventures to the Rattlesnake Bridge (this bridge has a rattlesnake tail...yes I sent him the picture to accompany the tale). I found this spot on Yelp and it was an adventure finding it in person. There is no parking next to it, so I had to park at Iron Horse park and walk around until I found an entrance to it. Note: If you're coming from that side, the ramp to the bridge is closer to the main street. I think my favorite part of the bridge was the rattlesnake tail at the end. It's fun to be able to say I've been inside a snake.

There's a lot of road construction at his silver fanged head so we started at the back end and walked through, it's pretty cool to be in the belly of a snake!! It's not the best neighborhood area and there are folks that have decided to call the area home so be aware of your surroundings just like anywhere else nowadays! Perhaps the Tucson Art Academy could take an interest and clean it up, after all, it is an artists creation!

I never had…read moreheard of it before, but one of my friends said it is a self guided tour that you can take downtown of all the historical landmarks to learn more about the history and the beginnings of Tucson. Starting at 196 Court St., one can follow the Turquoise trail for a 2 1/2 mile loop through downtown Tucson that features some of the original historical landmarks of the city as well as historical monuments. It is clearly marked by a painted turquoise stripe that runs along the sidewalk. It begins at the Presidio Museum, located at the northeast corner of the original Presidio San Agustin del Tucson which dates back to 1775. Also, there are self-guided walking brochures available at the Presidio Museum - 196 N. Court Ave.; Tucson Visitors Center - 115 N. Church Ave; Hotel Congress - 311 Congress St. or the Marriott Hotel - 151 E. Broadway Blvd. Even though I grew up in the city, I would walk it again and again as I feel I could never learn enough about the history and roots of this city.

Tucked away in the northern area of Tucson we found this beautiful memorial labyrinth. With…read morebenches, natural resources and regular care it's the perfect place for some tranquil meditation and contemplation. The drone footage was definitely necessary to capture the true size of this stunning landmark. There is a trail entrance on Cactus Blvd. with plenty of off street parking if the labyrinth is your destination. Although we didn't walk the entire trail, it's the perfect leisurely path for groups as they are wide and even. There's plenty to see from natural plants, critters and education. It's very well maintained and clean with benches to relax on and shade to cool off in.

I am unsure of the history of this place but labyrinth are a spiritual experience just to come and meditate as you walk around the earth to the center to find answers to questions you might be in life. This was never communicated ahead of time--nothing on the tickets, no warning, nothing. I asked about a refund, and the on-site manager--who appeared very young and inexperienced--told me he'd have to "check with higher-ups." There was no attempt to resolve the situation or offer any real help. Just dismissive and unprofessional. Sure, I could have taken my purse back to my car, but it was parked over a mile away. That's not a reasonable solution once you're already at the venue and in line. Policies like this need to be clearly communicated in advance. Leaving people stranded at the door is unacceptable. Overall, a frustrating and poorly managed experience.

The last time I came, there were flowers and candles lit, but I wonder if somebody took it all down? Anyway, one can come and light candles for a loved one, or leave flowers as a momentum. Part of our history and culture.

The cacti & curated gardens are beautiful, they currently have the Frida Kahlo exhibit with brightly colored displays it matched perfectly with the Sonoran desert landscape. I especially enjoy the butterfly enclosure, the Barrio Gardin surrounded by adobe walls and reclaimed objects as planters and the birds that call this place home. You can grab lunch or a snack and sit under the big shade tree on the patio. They host events, check their website or become a member to receive updates.
