He did our leech bed about 2 years ago very happy with his work ,our other one was bad

I needed someone to put 2 window wells in our crawlspace. Tommy Doyle responded to my asking for recommendations on a Facebook post. He came out, (May 6th Wed. ) gave us a quote.. wanted half $$ down..cashed that ck.($900) immediately..said he was ordering wells from Home Depot ...wouldn't be here till Mon.or Tues of next week as he was in Arizona for daughters graduation ...& would start then...never showed... keeps telling me he's coming , never shows, no explanation until I text him to ask " where are you", always has some excuse .. these are his excuses... 1. In hospital w/ my wife as she had root canal infection that went into her ear ( so he stayed w/ her all night in hospital)..no calls letting me know until I text him to ask " where are you" 2. Said he had another job to finish up then coming over ...never shows. 3. Said he was coming Memorial Day weekend ( Fri & Sat) ...no show or calls..4. Tues ( after Memorial Day) said he was coming ( I had to call & ask " where are you"), said an emergency came up in Michigan City, Ind. but would be there in afternoon..said it's hard to get help...told him it's really a one- man job anyway.....still a "no show"...Wed I texted him to bring our $$ back , (said he was in Mich. City & couldn't till later in day) told him he obviously didn't want the job w/ all his excuses , said he'd bring back the money that afternoon...promised . ...told him I wanted a specific time for that to happen ..he said 5:00-6:00..told him 5:00 to be there or I was filing a police report ..said he would ...NO SHOW...Next day my 79 yr old husband dug this all out today (1 window well) & put it in himself...still has one to go... husband called him tonight ( Wed)..he was yelling at my husband...husband hung up ...then went to file a police report.... Supposedly has this excavating business but in my opinion, I would not hire him as he's not advertised either as "licensed & insured" ( red flag) ...My post is to warn others, he's getting money up front & doing no work...he's , in our experience, not "legit". Today is Friday May 29th & still "NO CHECK". Will now go to small claims court & file papers plus go after him any way we legally possibly can. This man is absolutely " not legit". I feel if he did this to us, how many other people has he done this to? We are elderly people (79 yrs old) & don't need this aggravation! read more
