This place couldn't be worse. There's always negative comments about it in the local community groups. If they served anything other than fast food where people really don't care about the service they would be out of business. Went in as a group off four, placed two orders. First order was served...had blizzards that weren't turned upside down, no big deal who actually does that anyways. people were literally coming in behind us, ordering and getting their orders, we were just thinking there may have been an issue with our order and that it would be up right away. The lady looks at us standing there like fools wondering what we are doing, then goes back to her order machine and starts looking through the chits...it's then that she realizes she straight up missed the order. This is Dairy Queen...4 people working and all four can pretty much see everyone at the counter at all times yet some how us loitering at the counter some with blizzards and some without didn't even phase them. she serves the second order which also contained blizzards...by now the first order was literally eaten lol that's how long it took. Didn't turn them upside down and didn't apologize for making us wait so long. OK no big deal I guess...I joked to her that she didn't turn them upside down again. I have no idea what she actually said to me as she was mumbling under the mask but I know it was along the lines of who cares and we don't do that here and the sign doesnt apply in this store. Dairy Queen Grill & Chill - Didn't care about the free blizzard but there it is plain as day - Burgers Near Me - Chestermere, Alberta

My girlfriend and I where kicked off the patio AT 10:30 AT NIGHT because although I had bought a drink from them (because according to the owner a 3$ drink didn't count as a purchase) , she had not. I explained that we where together, and I payed for a drink only 5 minutes earlier, therefor we where paying customers (which complied with their sign). I wasn't going to argue since I was on a date, so we left with no issues. We where the only ones on the patio since it was dark out, so iy was not a "other people are waiting for these tables" kind of situation. No other people where on or near the patio and the store was empty aside from the employes. The real thing that made me right this review is what happens 2 days later. After sending an email to dairy queen, a family member of mine got a raging phone call from the owner YELLING about how he pays rent for that patio and we did not have the right to sit there, even though we where technically "paying customers". Although the patio incident was annoying on it's own, the disrespectful and verbally abusive phone call from the owner was definitly not an acceptable way to speak to anyone, let alone a recent paying customer. I had an issue with a gift card and the supervisor not only was not able to speed english enough to resolve the issue she ignored me in the store for at least 10 min! I was able to call the # on the gift card to verify it was full and still was not helped. I was told to take the card back to the friend who gave it to me and have them fix it! How stupid??? The the owner Abdul was put on the phone with me and he would not even respect my request... this all while my ice cream melts on the counter... I was told they could do nothing to make me happy and told to go away. I'm sure they had to throw out my ice cream, a total waste. Instead of giving it to me and make me happy and ask me to come back to sort out the card issue when the owner was in the shop, I was sent out mad and now I am giving a BAD review. Worst service I have EVER received from ANYONE. Don't come for icecream and definitely don't work here, he is an unreasonable man. read more

I am so tired of getting ripped off by these guys the Chestermere location. I order blizzards with extra candy and there isn't extra. This has happend a few times. Today I spend $29.00 on blizzards for me and 2 other people, yes, 3 blizzards. Anyway I order my usual, large Skor blizzard extra Skor. Not 1 piece of Skor and the damn thing wasn't even mixed. Never again will I go to the Chestermere location. I'll drive to Calgary. Stay away from these crooks. read more

This has got to be the worst customer service experience we've ever had. My husband went to redeem the free blizzard offer from the app and his phone wouldn't scroll up to show the "code" for the offer; it also showed the time counting down. But because the phone wouldn't scroll up, they wouldn't honour the offer. The manager even went as far as accusing him of being dishonest saying, you could have gotten one and walked back in and went on to say they'd given a lot of free blizzards today. Wow ... DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Details: This is a 2 visit horrible experience. The first visit the internet connection was poor so he brought us (the family) home so I could get everyone ready for bed and he went back. He went through the drive through and had trouble again so he went into the store and logged onto their wifi. The app pulled up the free offer and started counting down however the app wouldn't scroll down to reveal the offer code. This is when things really went sideways. My husband, who is extremely patient and easy going, returned home frustrated. Add to this the bedtime snack was not in hand. Yes he could have purchased one but it became a principled stand. I called to speak with the manager to see if we could remedy the problem. To begin with, the manager wouldn't let me talk. He would not let me present the challenge fully and spoke over me continuing on accusing (now us) of being dishonest. I raised my voice asking him to stop so I could talk; he hung up the phone. That's right, a General Manager hung up. I called back and he continued to hang up as soon as he heard my voice 6 SIX times! You read that correctly, the manager of a DQ would not hear the customer nor would he have a meaningful discussion, his idea of customer service is hang up and don't deal with it; he was not interested in finding a solution. The manager was only worried that the location had given away a lot of blizzards and although it was an app glitch he was willing to let a loyal customer go. The margins of the day ruled his thinking and not solving the problem or saving a customers business. I asked him what else we should have done and he had no answers. During the first phone call, he indicated that the employees that served my husband told him they were unable to scroll down and there was no count down. I challenged him on the truthfulness. We never disputed the scrolling challenge but most certainly challenged the countdown being witnessed. On the 8th phone call I requested he ask the employees again and he proceeded to speak with the male with me listening. The male employee confirmed that they did in fact see the app counting down but they were unable to scroll to retrieve the offer #. The manager then came on the phone and accused me again of not telling the truth. I reminded him that the employee confirmed exactly what I had recounted and all we wanted was the offer; no more, no less. What started out as a phone call in which we wanted to remedy the situation and continue to be loyal customers, turned into the worst experience (not to mention customer service experience) we've ever had. We are thankful we recorded these calls as I thought I overreacted. We reviewed them and I didn't. The manager wouldn't let me talk, spoke over me, when he did "hear" me, he heard only 1/8 of what he wanted to hear and ignored the rest. I worked in a restaurant all through university and grad school and I have never had this happen. I've never had a manager like this fellow and certainly never dealt with a fellow food service worker or manager like him. We have been going there once a week (for ~3 yrs) for supper because of our schedule and the kids activities. We will NEVER go again. A & W in Chestermere will most certainly get our weekly business from this point on. read more

I understand this establishment is fast food but really when I order a hamburger with out ketchup it don't mean take one off the shelf and scrape the ketchup off it means MAKE A FRESH ONE! I take it back and tell the cashier she apologies and the manger comes over says what's the problem I tell her I ordered a hamburger without ketchup she says maybe you forgot to tell us? "WHAT" so I said well if I forgot to tell you no ketchup why is there so little ketchup is that the normal amount you put in a burger? She takes me burger I wait 5/10 mins for a new one and the put the old burger in a new bun. Have never gone back & never will. read more
