Amae Plastic Surgery has just moved to 353 South Old Woodward, down town Birmingham! I love this location it gives me a chance to do a little shopping before or after my appointment. There is a parking garage a block away that offers the first 2 hours for free. The new office is so airy and feels spa like. Love the upgrade! Today I came in for a microdermabrasion and peel. I was starting to see the little fine lines and now that summer is over it was time. The only person I trust is Ramona she is a perfectionist and honest! If you don't need it she won't recommend it. Amazing service from the initial phone call. I wanted to check out a few options; however, after my phone call I knew this place would be exactly what I was looking for. I made an appointment, which was scheduled the following week, to have a consultation with the doctor. Dr. Ali is a very genuine doctor. He listens to your needs and then gives his professional opinion. After my initial visit I had a few questions. Every time I called the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to assist. I highly recommend. It is a beautiful clean facility. The price is very reasonable. The parking is no problem at all, which I was a little concerned with being located in downtown Birmingham. read more

DO NOT USE HIM FOR RECONSTRUCTION AFTER A MASTECTOMY!! I started with him. I had severe cellulitis in which he ignored me about my concerns. He refused to look at the infection saying" I don't know why that red spot is there". I ended up in 2 ers. One in which he had privileges at and gave them his diagnosis over the phone without even anyone even looking at me. Even the nurse was in shock. Another thing: I was brought in for a second unneeded surgery for my expander because it wasn't expanding come to find out the nurse was injecting 50-100 cc of saline solution randomly into my breast cavity. I told him I felt the water splashing up by my collar bone. It feels like that he said. Needless to say please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. You already have to fight through cancer you shouldn't have to fight through an incompetent plastic surgeon. This is my experience which almost killed me. BEWARE read more

Initially things were great, before my treatment, answered all my questions and I felt confident in his work. After treatment is a different story. I waited a while to see if swelling would go down enough after lipo on a few areas but as I knew and suspected it was just very uneven lipo. Lumps, bumps, under filled and over more fat left on one side than the other and just not good. I went back there and expressed my concerns because of course before treatment he stated that anything you don't like we can fix and make even again no problem. When I go back in, of course after he took All my $$$$, he's all of a sudden reluctant and starts making excuse for himself and stating "this is normal and it's okay are you sure you want to?" It's like he didn't wanna be bothered and was surprised I actually showed up to the appt to have things fixed which he was so extremely uncomforting and made me regret ever going there in the first place. Started asking me (while I was already half naked on the table) are you sure you still want to do this? Just such an ugly and comfortable vibe like he's doing something he doesn't want to and did an even WORSE job than the first. I got mad and became pretty unresponsive on the table and he all of a sudden started acting fake nice, that's awful and I hope you read this and know I'm letting everyone know to never come here for anything. He can't keep staff clearly, when I went back in it was all new people which should tell you a lot. He "corrected" the area on his terms and it was nothing like advertised. There was no lipo it was some cheap sh*t method syringe that pulled fat out and no real equipment was used. Completely false advertising and uncomfortable service and doctor, he also wouldn't go through the old incision as to not create new scars for me which I have a problem with, he made a whole new incision for his botched job and it wasn't even worth it, STILL uneven, sloppy and awful job, my sides are completely different and now I have a new scar I can't fix. Don't waste your money here all he cares about is your $$$ and not your satisfaction. read more

i felt like i needed to update this review, i didn't mean to leave the impression that the doctor is a bad doctor at ALL. i think dr ali is incredibly talented and i am thankful for what he was able to do for me - i am going to need a revision because after he shaved the bump off of my nose, my (what looks like to me) deviated septum is now showing more prevalent than before and the tip droops a bit (what i've discovered to be polly beak deformity). i am one of those people who's super nit picky about things, so if i'm paying tons of money for surgery - i want everything to be perfect, but i understand that's not always realistic. however - i did sit down with dr ali about 6 months after my nose job and addressed these problems i was seeing with him and did ask about a revision and he told me that he didn't think it was necessary and basically made me feel like it was all in my head. so yes - he offers free revision within the first year, except no one told me that until after the first year - and when i asked about doing it 6 months deep, not only did the doctor tell me he didn't think it was worth it, one of the women working there told me that there was no discounted price for revision.. so that's why i'm here now a year and a half later with a nose that i don't necessarily love. dr ali and the staff are amazing - but my nose is not really that much better than before the surgery, just different. read more

In May 2018, I had a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Ali. Prior to seeing him, I had seen several other plastic surgeons for second opinions, but none had measured up to the knowledge and confidence Dr. Ali had about performing my surgery. He explained his approach with detail and visuals to help me understand the procedure, answering every question i had.
