As I read the posts, I could but help but feel they are posted by the same individual using different names. It appears she has a personal vendetta. I did not read anywhere that she was a patient if Dr Smiths, and comment on the help she received.. If she has not been a patient then it's unfair to rate her. BUT I keep telling myself, the individuals that seek therapy do so because they have issues and some are quite unstable. If she hasn't seen Dr Smith I urge her to seek help somewhere! PERSONALLY I feel the need to comment on the care we received. DR. LEANNE SMITH has been a GODSEND to me and my family!!! We started seeing her shortly after adopting a special needs child12 years ago. If it had not been for Dr Smiths expertise, knowledge, guidance, kindness and gentle way of handling the many issues my daughter had, there is not a doubt in our mind our daughter would not be the mentally healthy, stable young lady she is now at age 14. The help we received from Dr Smith weekly and the bond she made between herself and my daughter is truly amazing. She changed my DAUGHTERS LIFE, AS WELL AS OURS! I will forever be eternally greatfull for finding this amazing Therapist. We are at the point now that if my daughter is having difficulty with something, she will ask me to make an appointment to talk with her. Sometimes she only needs one appointment and sometimes several. In this day and age, when a teenager knows they need to talk to someone they trust, but it's something they're not comfortable talking to mom about, and turn to their therapist, speaks volumes about the character of this individual. THANK YOU for reading this lengthy post, but I felt it was necessary. I do hope that this individual who truly has issues, gets the help she desperately needs. I cannot begin to understand why someone with a personal vendetta who use this platform of social media to attack the reputation and amazing work Dr.Smith has dedicated her life to.

Subsequently admitted to the hospital for 3 days. it's a miracle I survived a most horrific experience. I would avoid that place like the plague. My next call may be to my lawyer. I remained in bed for 3 days without being seen by a Dr. Horrible Horruble. No way to treat a 74 year old woman who was very politely asking for help. Actually begging for help. Shame on them.

On September 18, 2014 at 2:41 pm I receive a call from Serenity Counseling Services. They were…read morereturning my message. I had called to inquire about making an appointment with a psychiatrist. Upon them returning my call I found out they only offered on psychology at this offices. The women I was talking to ask for the purpose for trying to make an appointment informed her that my psychiatrist's office had closed. I was now looking for a new psychiatrist my health plan so I could continue my medication treatment for my ADD. The women's response was to say in a very condescending way, "Well, I don't think people with ADD need to be treated with medication, personal." I was taken aback by this comment. I informed her that was a very rude thing to say. She seemed shocked and did not understand how rude she had been. When I asked what was her name she just repeated whose office it was and did not give her name. I can only hope it was a sectary and not the psychologist. My decision to be evaluated for ADD and to be put on medication was a very big decision for me. Asking for help, and reaching out to a psychiatrist or psychologist can be a very nerve wracking, scary process for a lot of people. It is not a psychiatrist, psychologist, or their staff to pass their personal judgments on people. It is to help people gain the tools they need to be successful. I am complete shocked and disappointed by this experience. That comment was complete unprofessional. I had always seen my experiences seeing mental health professionals as being helpful and positive. After this conversation my view on of psychologist has changed.

Absolutely the WORST Office. I had a Psych and a Therapist…read morewith NH, and I had issues with both. The Psych Dr. that I had kept insisting I had a disorder that I did not believe I had. When I mentioned that I believe I am Autistic and have ADHD, he declined that it was possible. The therapist, every visit would tell me that I am a problem, and after 3 years of outpatient care with this office, I was MORE SICK than when I arrived. The therapist would try to confuse me into thinking a certain way, by putting me down!! My husband heard what they were saying to me and told me to quit seeing them immediately, as he obviously saw signs of medical malpractice, manipulation and psychological abuse after I told him what they were saying to me. When I tried to leave the Therapist would call me trying to get me to stay with them for some odd reason when they heard I wanted to switch to a completely different company. I finally found a proper Psych and therapist with a completely different company, and for reference in this situation, I will note that they are amazing in comparison to New Horizons. The new Dr has Diagnosed me with Autism & ADHD, and have given me proper therapies for that without forcing pills down my throat the way New Horizons was trying to. I have been able to learn about my disorders and how to cope with them properly, and it has helped me stabilize my life and start healing. (You will not get help from New Horizons if you have ASD or ADHD--they admitted they don't deal with it, at all) It has taken me 2 whole years of therapy with a proper office to heal from the damage New Horizons ensued on my mental and physical health. And it's also worth mentioning, when I talked to management at New Horizons about my situation, they will gaslight you and still act like it's not their problem. And they admitted they don't deal with Autism. And that's the kicker! They kept me SICK for YEARS just because they know Nothing of Autism, misdiagnosed me because they know nothing about Autism! If they knew nothing about Autism or ADHD than they should have been honest when I said I believed I had it, and referred me to someone who does know and can properly evaluate me for it, instead of gas lighting me and insisting I couldn't have it and making me sick for years. Because as soon as I was diagnosed properly with ASD & ADHD, I got better. And that was NOT going to happen at New Horizons because they were labeling, misdiagnosing and putting me down constantly. All while not even acknowledging my concerns or letting me know that they don't deal with ASD. How Horrible, and I really hope that they don't put anyone else through this. I am genuinely concerned that they are still continuing to do this to other people. Please be careful if you go to New Horizons!
