First time on Yelp, and I've just read the reviews. Pretty dismal. But ALSTON CALDERON is exceptional! Hehas WORKED with me during chronic depression; anxiety and insomnia. The same meds do not work for everyone and certainly not immediately, but Alston and I have worked together with my issues. That is the KEY - working together. What has really kept me going and impressed me has been his ability to not just address my mental issues, but my lifestyle changes; nutrition; exercise & well being. Usually, it's just about the meds. This is what has put Alston WAY above the rest! This place has been a life saver since i started coming here. Ive notice a lot of reviews complaining about not getting their meds on time. Ive never had this issue. I call three days prior to my meds needing to get filled and it always works for me. This place has helped me become more responsible and help[ed me take action work on my depression issues. My PA, Andrea, and therapist, Nancy, were wonderful, I formed an especially close bond with Nancy and will miss her terribly. The problem was the office staff, and two specifically were why I had to cut ties and leave. I now have to find another clinic, and I can't figure out why they're still employed there, considering the reviews. "nancy" (NOT my therapist) in the office staff is despicable. You can see that on other reviews. My last contact with her was to call in the name of my new mail-order pharmacy for the new year. She wanted the "state and zip code". I'd never had that asked for, was confused, it wasn't on the card, I explained that, she yelled at me, AGAIN, was condescending, incredibly rude, had me in tears, I had to call the pharmacy for the information, the rep had to look it up as well. I called back, asked for the office manager, "Annie", she was equally rude, condescending, wouldn't allow me to finish a sentence, raised her voice, said; "The name is already in here!", repeated that multiple times, I had to raise my voice about nancy demanding I call her back with state/zip code, she sat there silently for a minute, said, ok, give it to me, (whatever), I gave her my complaint about nancy, which she ignored, and basically hung up on me. Done. Riverview's OFFICE staff, specifically nancy and annie, not the others, are unprofessional, obstreperous, and bully clients. annie can't pronounce the word "ask" properly and talks like a high school drop-out. read more

What a horrible unprofessional therapist.....‍My husband last year had undergone heart surgery and was seeing the psychiatrist at the facility for his stress and sleep problems... the doctor suggested to also go to the family therapist that it would be good to help him talk things through...He started to see Sonnie and things were going well ... he talked about personal and family issues and it seemed to help him with his stress... unfortunately today was a different situation... as usual my husband walk in and Sonnie asked how everything was going and my husband answered everything was going good with our son and family but that he was very depressed and stressed out concerning all the anti semitism in the world and how he's very upset about how president Biden was handling all the protests.... At that moment Sonnie made it very clear that he needs to leave and she does not want to hear about any politics... my husband was in shock that instead of being a professional and listening to his problems since she had an opposing view she threw him out of her office and said she no longer wishes to treat him.... As a professional she should have listened to my husband and maybe offer him some reassurance that the situation will get better...something that might have made him feel better... PATTY the receptionist in the Stuart office is rude and very condescending! In a line of work where compassion and patience is paramount to a patients overall experience, she is one of the nastiest I've ever dealt with. I called to make an appointment for a prescription refill and to speak with a therapist. Patty barked that I can't get a refill without an appointment (see how this is going?) and I again stated that's what I'm trying to do, and with her abrupt nasty tone proceeded to tell me I owe them $25 for a no show. Ok I was there once and misplaced my follow up card so it's possible that I missed an appointment not realizing it so I promptly paid the $25 with an apology. After a brief rather unpleasant exchange about the missed appointment and phone call reminders, which I did not receive, and demographic updates, I felt my blood pressure rising so quickly made the appointment and she said in a sing song voice "bye". It was supposed to be a simple phone call to get an appointment...why so hostile? Right after the call i immediately called the Port St. Lucie office and made an appointment with them. This office assistant, Tatyana, was the complete opposite of PATTY in Stuart. Tatyana was kind, considerate and professional. PATTY was nasty and unprofessional. This is a mental health facility first and you're dealing with the public. You don't know what someone is going through ...why make it worse? if you hate your job PATTY, then find a different line of work...maybe not with health care or customer service though. The absolute prime example of Patient LAST in this practice. All they care about is collecting payment. No sense of patient care starting at the front office and only gets worse if you talk to the office manager Tadi. They want payment hours in advance of telemed appointments, or they will charge a no show fee. Even if they failed to answer the phone when you tried to give them payment. They just don't care! I have had a terrible experience with this office. I was spoken extremely poorly to by a receptionist when asking a question about a medication, and have not been called back in days when I have been having negative effects of a medication I was prescribed. Never have I experienced such unprofessionalism or had a doctor "too busy" to reach out to their patients when they're sick from a medication. Absolutely terrible. read more

My wife recently visited this office for the first time and I am shocked at how she was treated by the nurse practitioner named Andrea J Briner-Johnson. She was belittled and interrogated about what medications she is on. She was then told that her condition was "her own fault so she's going to have to just deal with it." As my wife was sharing her innermost issues with this person expecting compassion, understanding, and help. Instead she was met with judgment, condescension, and blunt comments. Dr. Gerardo Olivera is the most unprofessional and discourteous doctor that I have ever encountered in 21 years in the healthcare field. He is arrogant and becomes visibly upset by folding his arms if you ask questions regarding the care he is providing to the patient who happens to be my child and a minor. While having a conversation with this physician and after he prescribed meds, he became visibly upset and began to interrupt continuously and wrote on the intake form, DIC in 2 inches bold letters. Meaning he was discharging my daughter from his practice. Beside medically unprofessional, he is retaliatory as well. The meds were never sent, leaving my child abandoned and without care. He opened his door and rushed us out of the office. We are suppose to have continuity of care for 30 days until we find another doctor. We were never given that. We have seen other providers there with no issues.. Hmmm. I would guess the issue is Dr. Olivera. We do not trust his skillset or his abilities. read more

I visited Dr Olivera s office in October. After the visit I had posted a negative review on their Facebook page about their staff. Like a lot of the other reviews they were very unprofessional and uncaring. I suggested that they should hire people who has some people skills and actually enjoy their work. Dr. Olivera himself responded to my review within minutes. His reply was that I should get some people skills myself. This is the Dr. responding to me personally. I have never been so insulted or treated so badly in my life. The front desk staff in Stuart are rude and unprofessional. CVS called and I called for a standard refill multiple times. When I finally got a live person she claimed we never called. Reported the issues and over a month later after multiple requests to hear how it was resolved the Dr. Gerardo Olivera, MD called me. He acted as if he had no idea why I wanted to speak to me. Obviously, I was upset as I had been ignored. As I went through the issues of what happened to me. Very rude staff, absolutely humiliating experience being there. I came for mental health and they threw me out of their office telling me to get out like I was a child when I was simply trying to refill my medication. The NP Andrea is by far the worst mental health practitioner I've ever had and I've had a spectrum of professionals treat my issues over nearly twenty years. From clinics with grad students to top notch doctors in elite class in their field. I have never had a professional tell me they don't like my attitude after I defended myself after being belittled for having ptsd, anxiety and depression and my life response to it. I was told to "sit down" after I wanted to leave after being insulted. I'm a grown woman being told "I don't like your attitude", and after being threatened that if I didn't "improve my attitude" I would lose services permanently. I said with relief, yes, let's do that. I'm so glad to have gotten away from this non compassionate, unprofessional, untrained and degrading staff. Andrea, the head doctor and another therapist all have the attitude you are a problem not a person. Don't come here if you truly want treatment. If you want to come in say, yes and you agree to their point of view, finish out the 15 mins adhering to their ignorant views of having issues as a result to normal life events, collect your script and rinse/repeat every 2 months. I went to see Dr. Andrea for the first time today. It was the worst experience I ever had w a mental health specialist if that's what u want to call her. I left after a few minutes realizing she had no intentions of helping me or listening to anything I had to say. She belittled me and was extremely rude and unkind. I had had enough and left w nothing resolved. This woman does not care about people. She was completely discriminatory and harsh. I would hate to c her send someone over the edge that's already close. I did see a law suit against them that was settled for just that, a wrongful death suit of a patient that committed suicide after being improperly treated. read more

I wasn't able to see Dr. Olivera, so I can't speak to the experience with him, but I would never walk through the door again after the experience I just received from his staff and his nurse practitioner Andrea. My experience is extremely poor customer service. Due to a change in NP my plan of care was changed - essentially the NP was not comfortable continuing a prescription of a particular medication - fine - so I went ahead and got a primary care appointment (3 weeks was the soonest) and was denied providing a reduced prescription amount to carry me over. Not only did they not call me back when I was told they would (answer given to me when asked about that was "I'm telling you now" ) , the NP told the receptionist to tell me to go to urgent care. So rather than refill a hold over amount of prescription (very benign medication - nothing evolutionary) . So with COVID going on , testing etc.. she wants me to clog up the urgent care que with my silly medication with a $125.00 co-pay. Absolutely deplorable. The bigger picture is as a "patient" more like herded cow of this so called practice our ability to advocate for ourselves is jaded because we have a "mental illness" of sorts and are all treated with the misguided assumption and judgement of being "non-compliant" , "paranoid" , "difficult" and certainly not capable of having a very logical , solution oriented ,problem solving simple request that would have been a win-win all around. Unfortunately the options available to vote with our feet and go to another provider are extremely sparse. Other options may not be welcoming new patients to their practice or are not a fit with certain insurances. All I can say to others who may be a part of this nightmare , with more significant mental health needs than I - please advocate for yourself ,you are more than the patient you are the customer. My last 2 post covid phone call visits were less than 7 minutes each and my insurance was billed hundreds of dollars - another issue all together. Be strong and be well. read more

Receptionist named patty extremely rude, one of the most unprofessional receptionists I have ever dealt with, snapping at me to give her my debit card when i didn't get it out of my purse fast enough for her. Frankly, not one person in the entire office has ever even smiled the few times I have been in here. I also had to wait almost 3 months to even get an appointment.
