No, no, no, no, NO…read more So, I've been waffling back and forth on whether I was going to write a review of this particular place. With restaurants, etc. I have NO problem gushing about a place (or tearing it apart, for that matter!). But with physicians? I always hesitate. Maybe it's because I feel a closer connection with my doctor. But after today's horrid appointment, I knew I had to say something. Anything. So to Yelp I went. I had a well-woman appointment with Dr. Ewing today. My appointment was at 3:00pm. Like a good patient, I showed up 15 minutes early. The receptionist was friendly and handed me all of the necessary paperwork to fill out. I thought that was weird, since I was a current patient, but maybe that was necessary since I only visit once a year. I fill out the paperwork, and hand it back to the receptionist. I look at the clock. 2:55. Okay, cool. I play around on my phone a bit, I read a magazine. I look back up at the clock. 3:15. Hmm. Whatever, I'm used to waiting at a doctor's office a little bit past my appointment time. A nurse's aide finally comes into the waiting room to retrieve me. 3:20pm. Sigh. She does the usual blood pressure, weight check, etc. And places me in the room. Tells me the doctor will be right with me. I change into the stupid scratchy paper dress that EVERY woman hates, and I sat. And sat. And sat some more. FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER, Dr. Ewing strolls in. No apology, no explanation, NOTHING. She uh...gets to business. I'll keep the gory details to myself. Besides my annual well-woman check up, the other reason I made an appointment was to get information on an alternate form of contraceptive. Without going into too much detail (I feel like I already did!), I told her I wanted to switch to a different birth control method. I explained to her all of my reasons why, and all of my concerns. She patiently listened, and I sat there afterwards, waiting for some professional advice. Her 'professional' advice? "Well, I can give you a pamphlet, and you can make the decision from there. It's different for every woman". WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK. Listen, I KNOW it's different for every woman. I don't expect you to look into some magical crystal ball and tell me exactly how my body will respond to a different medication. But, DOCTOR, I was hoping you'd be able to, oh I don't know, give me some actual USEFUL information that I couldn't just look up myself on the internet? I knooow you have other women who are on this form of birth control; couldn't you give me some of their experiences, complaints, etc? Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated. I hate going to the gynecologist anyway, and Dr. Ewing did nothing to make my experience at least somewhat tolerable. She couldn't even answer the questions that I asked her. Dr. Rutledge was my doctor during my first pregnancy, but I rarely saw her throughout my pregnancy. I was induced at 37 weeks and ultimately spent 72 hours in labor. During that time, Dr. Rutledge went out of town. After 72 hours of labor, I was told that my doctor was unavailable and that an ER doctor would be delivering my baby via C-section. Thankfully, Dr. Lucco was there for me. She had seen me for much of my pregnancy, and when I asked for her to deliver my baby, she came in even though she was not scheduled to be at the hospital to deliver a child. She came ready to serve, support me, and make sure I felt cared for during what was an incredibly difficult and vulnerable experience. I will never forget Dr. Lucco's compassion, care, and support. Her presence meant so much to me, and I still think about her to this day. Dr. Lucco is a PHENOMENAL WOMAN and a GREAT PHYSICIAN. I am forever grateful that she showed up for me when I needed someone in my corner.

The purpose of my visit was because I've been experiencing symptoms of perimenopause for the last 2 years and over the past year they've started to get worse. When I mentioned some of my symptoms to her, she completely dismissed my concerns and told me "Feeling hot all the time isn't a symptom of perimenopause." She also told me my PCP was full of for sending me to an obgyn and that I should go back to my PCP to address my concerns. The only bloodwork she ordered was to check my thyroid levels (which were normal). She used coded language to fat shame me by telling me I needed to "make lifestyle changes." She also suggested I try magnesium and get on an antidepressant, but failed to look at my medical history and see that I'm already taking an antidepressant. Do not visit this practice, especially not Ms. Johnson, if you are experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause, as you will not be taken seriously.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Schnapp and was promised wasn't going to be charged but no one took an action yet.. Here is my story. I visited Dr. Schnapp because of a vaginal issue (I had a brown discharge every couple of weeks) and was scheduled for an ultrasound. The ultrasound result was an enlarged left ovary with hemorrhagic cyst. The doctor mentioned that the cyst size was very big and it will cause me pain and bleeding if left. I asked if it can be treated with medication, but she said no because of the size and this type of cyst never dissolves on its own and will require a surgery. The Dr told me to do the laparoscopically surgery as soon as I can and that was on August 31st, but I told her that I can't do it until mid of October because of work commitment. So we scheduled the surgery on October 18 (a month and a half after the ultrasound). During that time the office called me and asked me to visit the hospital and I thought something related to the surgery. I made the appointment on October 17. On that day, the nurse took me to a room full of tools for an operation so I was shocked! I asked the nurse why I'm here? She said your Pap smear was not normal so the doctor requested this operation (I forget what was the name of the operation), so I told her but all the results on the app was normal! Then She checked the data and said "you are right, I will go and check with the doctor why are you here" !! So if I haven't asked they would have done an operation on me!! Then she came back and said we are sorry it was a mistake! (Later when I think about it, not even sure they had the right person). She asked if I had any questions, and I did have some questions for next day's surgery. She said "I don't know I will call the doctor". Then the doctor came and told me the recovery would take about 2 weeks and she said I have to be at the hospital by 7am and left. I had the surgery on 10/18 and when I woke up after the surgery, I was very shocked when my husband told me that the doctor came and said they didn't find any evidence the cyst even existed and it may have dissolved !!!!! (Later when I think about it, I think they got the wrong person and the whole thing was mixed up). I was very angry and in pain from the surgery and I asked to see the Dr, but they said she left!! On the follow up appointment I talked to the Dr about everything and told her why you didn't say it might get dissolved on its own? And if there is a 1% chance for it to dissolve why didn't you make another ultrasound before the surgery? she said because she thought I was in pain!! So she thought I'm in pain but I never said that, the only time I mentioned pain was the first time I saw her when I mentioned the last time I had brown discharge was combined with pain so I didn't know if it was my period or just the brown discharge! so she apologized for misunderstanding and such.. Then I asked her about the bills, she mentioned that she will talk to her manager and they will call me. So I didn't go to work for 2 weeks and now I have to pay ~$5000 for the surgery. After calling the office manager multiple times, I was finally able to talk to her. And she said she will talk to the billing department and try to wave the bills, but till now no body called me!! And I received the bills!! It was unnecessary surgery!!! She put me in risk of anesthesia, pain, 2 weeks recovery without pay, and bills! The worst part is no one cares about what happened and not getting any directions to the right person to talk to!
