Such a clean studio, I had my nose pierced at the Headingley location and tattoos and the city one and honestly swear by them. The staff and artists are so amazing and friendly too, very helpful.

I recently developed an insane hankering to get an ear spiral and spotted this place while out and…read moreabout. What a lucky spot - it's a gem! (Pun intended...) I spoke to the owner Sam and asked about their hygeine procedures. She insisted on showing me around and explaining exactly how they do things - very reassuring. I've been in some tattoo/piercing places where they sneer at you for any question you dare to ask, but this couldn't have been more different, she was happy to chat and answer everything. Since the jewellery they had in wasn't quite right for my ear she recommended somewhere I could get a suitable piece (another point in favour - wanting to do things properly rather than just take my money) so all in all I went back there about four times before actually getting it done - got a friendly and helpful reception each time. It's a slightly tricky and painful piercing, but it helped that I felt assured that Sam knew what she was doing, and she was the right mix of sympathetic and businesslike. She asked me a couple of times if I was ok or needed a drink of water, but didn't fuss too much or prolong things - perfect for a wuss like me! Plus she asked if she could take a photograph at the end which made me feel like a celebrity, always nice (delusional? :p ) I ended up with a wicked piercing and some good advice on aftercare with a free bottle of their saline solution thrown in. If I decide on another piercing I'll be back here in a heartbeat.

Okay, so for body modifications, this place couldn't get much better…read more Let me point out that anything but piercings are a permanent change to your body, so should be carefully thought about before you go for anything doing. So as for a review, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I started getting my piercings here as a one off really and found that they simply are the best place I've ever been. The staff are really friendly, really professional and know what they are talking about. I now only use this place for any of my bod mods, and I have to travel nearly an hour and a half to get here (I have to use public transport :/) but because I know the service I receive is phenomenal and prices are superb, it's worth it.

I went in wanting a simple tattoo. The staff on the till upstairs were really friendly. All was…read morewell until I went downstairs to speak to the tattooist. I told him what I wanted. He did a rough sketch on my skin with pen and I'm not going to lie it didn't look good. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he started to draw it out, but it didn't look like anything like what I'd shown. I mentioned this and he re-drew. He spent a grand total of 2 minutes re-drawing and I said very politely that I liked what he had drawn but wanted one part of altering - I feel entitled to say this as it is going on my skin permanently. This seemed to anger the tattooist and he slammed the iPad case shut that he'd been drawing on and proceeded to swear at me. At that point I said "I'll leave it then" and he then stood up abruptly and tore up my consent form in front of me. I could understand this behaviour and treatment if I'd have been demanding, rude, unreasonable, if I'd have asked for it to be redrawn well over a handful of times. And if the tattooist had have been drawing for a long time. But I didn't and I wasn't. I don't think I was in the shop for more than 10 minutes. Definitely will not be setting foot in there again. Not a pleasant experience at all.

I am writing this in behalf of my partner who recently wanted to get their first tattoo. When she…read moregot in contact with one of the artists there, lets call them, "Gregg", he wasnt the fastest at replying to emails which is understandable as its a business, however after numerous times he either rescheduled or just straight up didnt reply to his emails, it becomes a lil bit annoying. Especially when he posts to his Instagram account that he has "free space available". Yet still does not reply to emails. Then when she finally got an email back saying he had time available on Friday, she said thatd be great! But then, no shock to us, come Friday, and another follow up email about this alleged "available time". He was gone like a fart in the wind. A day later and still nothing back. Unprofessional and unorganised. Maybe others here are better than Rya- i mean "Gregg" but we wouldnt know. However id give it 10/10 for piercings. Not tattoos.

High pain threshold? Want a new piercing? Another Tattoo?…read more I would recommend Red Tattoo and Piercing. I have had both piercings and tattoo's done here! What makes Red so special is that the staff and young, vibrant and love their art. For tattoo's you can take your own design and they will recreate this PERFECTLY for you. If you need some advice they will help you create the tattoo if you give them an idea of what kind of look you wish to have! Prices are reasonable. For examples, a 2 inch (approx) outline will cost you between £25-35. Other prices however depend on what you wish for. For piercing, prices are a little expensive. This again depends on the piercing and the ring/stud you want! Staff are interested in your needs however and take the time out to walk you around the Gothic, boudoir designed shop to explain all the different possibilities. If you search around Leeds you will find cheaper places for both tattoos and piercing. Nevertheless for the comfort that Red provides, the extra price is worth it!

The manager who does the piercing is very friendly and polite and chatty - he really put me at my ease even though it wasnt me who was nervous it was my mum. The equipment is fully sterilised and comes from a unopened packet so you can be sure of the quality and hygiene. I was told how to care for my piercing and made sure I knew what to do next to care for it. The shop is at thte top of ivegate just underneaf the klick photoshop and it is easy to walk past as the signing is only on the windows and if you didnt know it was there you wouldnt find it. There are a few steps to go down and then you are in a small waiting room with another small room for the piercing. There is a huge supply of jewellery to choose from and hygiene products.

I asked him to check my ear and see if it was safe to get it re pierced safely and he said yes. He sat me down on my chair and told me he was sanitising the area and before I knew it I was pierced. He did not ask me what position I wanted the piercing or show me what he was using - he just pierced me. I was extremely startled at how fast it was over and had doubts whether he used a needle or not because it happened so fast. I later rang them back and asked the man to confirm whether he used a gun or needle and he said that they only use needles as a gun would shatter my cartilage. I took his word for it but then my sister remembered she took a video of me getting my piercing and we realised that he had in fact used a gun! I have also read reviews online that say that he uses guns for cartilage piercings. I have checked the official bradford council guidelines and it clearly states a piercing gun should not be used on anywhere other than ear lobes. I have also spoken to a friend who had her cartilage pierced here almost 7 years ago and he used a gun. This man has been doing this for many years and should have his license removed after unsafe practices and lying to his customers. I have emailed bradford council and hoping they revoke this mans license!
