When I asked him if he had a new air exchange system I was so impressed to hear that indeed they do! They put it in to help protect us all from COVID. It exchanges the air every minute and a half. I let them…read moreknow ahead of time when they called, and I had an overall great experience. + They were great in helping me figure out my insurance- letting me know costs ahead of time, how insurance worked, etc. There were no surprises, and they went out of their way to make sure I had an accurate picture of costs, which is not something I'd experienced before. +My dental hygienist was excellent, periodically checking in with me to make sure I was okay, along with the occasional reassurance + They really out my mind at ease about a lot of my fears, and as a result, I actually enjoyed my visit (as much as you can at a dentist!) + I saw Dr Laura Earl as my dentist, and she was also excellent. She took extra time to make sure my visit wasn't rushed and I knew what was going on. I will for sure be going back, and highly recommend this dentist. He left a piece of the root in as it was a difficult extraction - the problem was, when I went back as it started protruding from the gum, they said "how do they know it was a piece of the tooth?" and were going to charge me to take it out (I already paid them $300+ the first time to take the tooth out. I went to another dentist ... literally less than five minutes in the chair and she popped it out. I wont go back to Dr Gresko. Positively, he was friendly.

This isn't my first long term care facility,…read moreso now, I have an opinion. :) My father went into Long Term Care last year and was moved into Thunder Bay Interim. When the faclity closed it was moved to Lakehead Manor. It is not in the best part of town, but there are some highlights (and drawbacks) as there are with all of these types of facilities. The Good ======== - The staff are friendly, warm, patient and accommodating - They pay attention to their residents and make necessary adjustments. For example, my dad and his roommate werent' getting along (mostly due to my dad's offensive language) so they got a more appropriate roommate for both parties. - They call me when there is a problem - They call me to ask permission for the little things (i.e. can he have a flu shot?) - They keep me informed of who is coming and going to visit him The bad ======= There is one elevator that holds 4 wheelchairs. They have to load and unload a whole sitting in the dining room on the main floor one set of wheelchairs at a time. I know the folks living there have nothing but time, but when you are hungry and possibly constraphobic, it is not cool to have go through a 30 minute (or longer) exercise to get everyone settled 3x a day. The staff are great, but the actual set up of the facility is not very efficient that way. All in all, the staff are working with the people as best they can. The layout of the facility with one elevator and narrow hallways would drive me batty if that was my fate.

I looked and looked and the soonest anyone get help was 6 months out; not viable considering the public nature of my work, and the pain. My dentist (shout out to Dr. Bagley: woop woop) highly recommended Scott Family Dental. Despite the excellent word of mouth and high recommendation, my hopes were not high for a quick solution. However, that changed after a detailed discussion with the courteous, empathetic and so professional, Dr. Gyula Forgo. After that first visit, I was so relieved and happy; with the timeline, the cost and the procedure. They used the newest technology to scan my mouth, have an excellent reception team (who literally allowed me to dance with joy in front of them with no judgment), and they gave me a quick solution i could afford. They offered free followup for fitting, but i haven't needed that. The new partial dentures seem very sturdy (excellent material build) and fit perfectly (literally, no pain after an all day wear at work).
