That's why we moved with him from practice-to-practice, and subscribed to Concierge Care only to keep him as our Primary Care Physician. However, some of the BIMP Office Staff and the Receptionist have been rude on more occasions than I care to count. Lack of courtesy to the patients and staff's insensitivity to senior patients' needs is simply appalling. They are devoid of empathy and compassion, in addition to being grossly ignorant of the very basic client-business protocol. Additionally, incompetence and unprofessionalism has also been routinely exhibited by the substitute or temporary Lab Techs. I dread going there for even routine shots. Something got to change. At 2.6/5 Google Rating, BIMP needs to mend its ways, or the ratings will continue to drop, and the long-time clients will start exploring other options. I know, at $2k+ annual Concierge Fee, I surely am not getting my money's worth. As a caution, they need to hang a sign on their front door: "ENTER THIS OFFICE AT YOUR OWN RISK OF BEING BELITTLED, DISCOUNTED, AND HUMILIATED!!!"

During my first appointment with Dr. Korman, I was asked questions I had never been asked, despite having been diagnosed more than 15 years earlier. She has helped me get to a point where I am living, no longer just existing with my disease. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to IBD specifically, but also more than willing to get outside input if there is something she is unsure of. I'm so grateful to have found her. Always best to get first appointment of the day. It took me 3 months to get an appointment. Dr. Mullins is thorough in his evaluation. He is knowledgeable and was able to educate me on my condition in a sensible and sensitive way. I took an MRI that he had suggested I do in advance. He ordered bloodwork which was completed in a timely basis. We agreed on a treatment plan. He has online patient records and accepts email from patients. My experience with Dr. Mullins and his staff was excellent.

However, now that Dr McNamara is part of Bethesda Physician Associates, an MDVIP practice, there is no comparison to the past. Now, if there is an issue, I usually get a callback from Dr McNamara within an hour or so. If I am sick, I can usually get a same day or next day appointment. The physical exam is comprehensive and is not rushed. I am highly satisfied with the change. The downside is that there is now an additional fee of $2,000 per year. However, I realize that in this age of managed care and insurance-driven health care, it has become necessary in order to get the care that I desire and expect.

In…read moreJune of 2015 she had a routine blood test and, after many months of reaching out to try to get the results, Dr. McNamara finally called her back and told her that "he didn't get paid to make phone calls." He then proceeded to tell her that her test results were fine; however, he was sure she needed to get back to her family as he needed to get back to his. I understand people have lives outside of their work; however, it should have never taken until October to hear back about something regarding her health, good or bad. He now works for MDVIP where patients pay extra money to have a doctor on call whenever they need them. I don't know about anyone else but, if I'm going to pay over $1000 extra to have a doctor there whenever I need him/her, I would want someone who really cares about the hospitality aspect of the medical field. I don't seem to be the only person who feels this way either.
