I was a patient of Dr Anis for about a year, and looking back now I am very concerned about the way I was treated as a woman. As he is Arabic and has a strong accent he does not understand Australian women at all. He would say things to me like "women shouldn't live alone, very bad for your reputation", "what were you doing out without a man at midnight?" and he switched my medication to an anticonvulsant and he actually said this: If you break your leg and have to go to hospital and you say you are on xanax, they go hmmm junkie, if you say you are on Clonazepam they say oh epileptic and you will get better treatment!!! I said But I'm not epileptic, and he said they didn't have to know that. If you wear a burqa he may be the Dr for you, otherwise avoid at all costs! read more
