Best psychiatrist I have ever seen. Very patient, empathetic and understanding. Up to date with all the latest research and drug therapies. Young enough to not be jaded but old enough to have plenty of experience. Highly recommended! read more

PLEASE ..if you are on this page about to call for an appointment ...DONT. This man should not be…read moreallowed to treat anyone ...ever! Especially in the capacity he does, as a "highly qualified" psychiatrist with many extremely vunerable people trusting his ability to help them recover and live a sustainable, stable, happy life. A position of "care". He doesnt care about his patients, he doesnt care about their families, or what happens to them once they leave the clinic he practises from. And from what I have just read...90% of his patients are prescribed the wrong drugs, wrong dosage, no information re these drugs given to patient or care giver, and without taking the patients past medical history into account. Which in the my brothers case nearly cost him his life...literally! There are many reviews left by Dr Sturrocks past patients on this site ...please please read - https://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/dr-david-sturrock-sydney-nsw-au#ratings

Malpractice is a very strong word; however what sort of incompetent Dr doesn't follow and know the rules of schedule -1 drugs!!!!! My sons mental health has been severely compromised, and his potential for high achievement in his year-12 exams have been thrown out the window. This complaint is to raise issues about the treatment our youth receive from greedy mental health practicians, who are using video appointments as a way of conducting mass treatment to maximise profit and shield themselves from providing real help. My tax dollars are paying for Dr Leow's service and he's taking all the money and taking no responsibility, he is just pushing all the work back on to an over worked, full committed regional GP's in Australia who are carrying the weight of a health system.

The reason for my rating is I feel much better and cope much better in a stressful time (which is still objectively stressful), and this improvement is stable for months. Highly recommend. I am grateful for meeting her in dark times of my life. Symptoms subside as a result of some more deep worldview changes, that seem at first not connected with your struggle at all. It's amazing. it's long to explain. It's like moving to a more healthy life from the place you are now... For example, I thought I need anger management, but my anger disappeared instead when assertive behavior improved... I was really lost, I was a function without a sense of life. And I didn't know that the world can be that bright and full of meaning. I just lived it not right before - I lived a life of somebody's expectations and rules, not the freedom of my own life, - because of the difficult history of not right surroundings and not healthy examples of behavior. Don't be afraid of good therapists - they really can change your life to the better one!

The standard of care and expertise of my main psychiatrist is first-rate, visits are easy, enjoyable, and supportive, leaving me feeling fortunate to be under the care of St. John of God, Burwood. It's also handy that the Centre offers patients excellent off-street parking.

He is LOVELY - he is always caring and interested in your life beyond the health-related reason for your visit. Dr Sundin is also nice and smiley and kind, as is Dr Lee. While the practice doesn't bulk bill, you get what you pay for - a full consultation with the doctor, his or her full attention and an accurate diagnosis. As those who frequent bulk-billing practices will know, this is not always the case. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait, but if you go early in the morning or ring to see if the doctor is on time, this can be avoided. If you want a GP, then look no further.

But she never asked questions relating to my lifestyle and presentation, in fact I felt she was quite judgemental and disapproving, which was not at all helpful. Could have saved me a lot of pain and help to avoid placing myself in dangerous situations had she taken the time to delve a little and ask a few questions. I never forgot this, it had such a huge impact on my life, not having anyone who cared enough to take an interest and have a chat.

There are of course free clinics to get your child immunized but I like the personal approach rather than the production line 'next!' style of some clinics. I did quick search on Google for GP's in my area and came across plenty of reviews on Dr Linda Morton highlighting her supportive and family oriented approach. Taking your baby to get a needle jabbed in her arm isn't the pleasant of experience as any new mum will confirm. The doctor was gentle and quick which I appreciated but wasn't as warm and welcoming as I'd have liked given it was my first visit. I felt a bit rushed and walked out not feeling compelled to go back. My community nurse recommended another doctor in the area. Dr Morton is good for those who like the old home style feel rather than a clinical polished surgery.

Before i continue this review I feel compelled to assure the reader (and myself for that matter) that this is a once in a life time anomaly, and hanging out in Medical Clinics is not on my bucket list! I am glad that my visit to The Mater was not one of my first experiences, as it would have left me severely disappointed at every other clinic because it felt a lot more like visiting a Health Spa than a Radiologist. The first significant difference was the lighting and decor. From the seating to the art work the waiting room felt very much like a 5 star hotel lobby, and the greeting i was given at reception followed suit. After being warmly welcomed I was told about the location of amenities should I need them, offered a seat, and settled in for what i believed would be a good 15 minute minimum wait, as despite always having an appointment this seems to be norm in Medical Practices. After being seated for less than a minute a lovely lady approached me, confirmed my name and explained that she would be one of several people looking after me during my visit. She went on to explain that my friend was welcome to come in with me during the treatment as my comfort during the procedure was their priority. Having only ever experienced having my name shouted across a crowded waiting room, this experience was incredibly reassuring and immediately put me at ease. Once in the room this level of service and care continued throughout the entire procedure. All three staff who attended were genuinely delightful and caring, and demonstrated exceptional skill. At no stage did my friend or I feel excluded from the process they undertook, and at every stage I was informed of what was being done and why, and reminded that at any time I could ask for time out and they would happily comply. Even at the checkout process I was served by a really helpful and friendly receptionist who gave me precise timelines about results so that I knew exactly when my Specialist would be able to update me. Up until this week I have genuinely believed that one Imaging centre is the same as the next, and now I know just how wrong I was. I may live 60 or more Kilometres away from Mater Imaging but I know for certain that from now on they are the only Imaging Centre I will visit, as they are truly outstanding!

It's a lot less generic and a lot more personal care than those horrible Mcmedical centres popping up everywhere. You know, a proper doctor's practice. The GPs are all fairly professional, speak good English and care about their patients overall well-being, not just an assembly line legal drug pusher's residence. They also have very good on site pathology and counseling services and they offer bulk-billing. Although booking ahead is essential, so not generally the best for a serious emergency. But if you live in the neighbourhood and need a good regular GP I'd definitely recommend them.

Like most medical ancillary services, it's expensive and ongoing for certain issues and health care never covers everything, but the advice and conciliatory nature of their customer service has been impressive so far. I'd recommend this service (it's not a bulk bill service, so forget that if you're contemplating) for anyone who has not experienced good care. They have a full range of facilities with regards to the services they offer.
