I was in Santa Cruz visiting family & friends for a few days and wanted a massage. I looked on yelp (love yelp) and found Yin Wellness. I called and Willow just happened to be free and took me right away. I arrived 20 minutes later and had a wonderful experience. Her spa is super clean (important) had a cozy feel (love the tiny fireplace in the corner) and my treatment was wonderful. Willow is good at what she does and has great energy too! Her combination of massage, acupuncture, & cranial-sacral work was gentle yet powerful and quite unique. I walked out of there so relaxed I actually had to sit in my car for about 5 minutes because I was too relaxed/mellow/happy to even drive. At first glance, the price of $90 for a one-hour table massage looks to be on the high side. But then when you factor in that you get to soak for 20 to 30 minutes in an outdoor hot tub before your appointment, you now have 90 minutes for $90. And that's a good deal! Once inside and on the table the relaxation resumes. There is nothing rough (read: elbows jammed into your muscles) about Willow's style. It is nurturing and soothing. You can tell that with the first touch of her lithe fingers. She also incorporates a bit of acupuncture and some gentle cranio-sacral massage in her treatment that leaves you drifting away and loving life. In the end it all adds up to 90 minutes of bliss. I've only been treated by Willow three times. I originally went in with a pretty significant injury I sustained from weightlifting. I could not feel my thumb or index finger and my middle finger in my left hand. I also had significant pain in the left side of my back under my scapula. After The first visit the pain started to subside and I started to get some feeling back in my thumb and fingers! After my third visit the feeling in my left hand has now fully retuned and the pain in my back has subsided. Beyond this I feel revitalized and in general more balanced. Willow is hands down one of the most helpful/powerful healers I have ever encountered. I initially started seeing her for TMJ and stress management. Recently, my overall health was dramatically improved by one visit. I was ill for nearly 2 months with fatigue and rotating sinus and lung issues. I had taken a round of antibiotics in an attempt to feel better with no success. Even during the treatment, I felt some clearing and relief. In combination with the herbs she prescribed me I am happy to say I am well again. Willow is wonderful! I saw her during my pregnancy, and she helped me to avoid an induction since by baby was almost two weeks overdue. She also helped me with heartburn, hip pain, etc...the joys of pregnancy. She is very intuitive, and was always positive and supportive, which was important to me when I was pregnant. Willow has been teaching yoga to and providing care to me and my young daughter for six years. She is a very calming presence and has wisdom far beyond her years.
