I was fortunate enough to snag an appointment today with Kristen for my first session of acupuncture. And what an incredible experience it was. At the start of the appointment I asked her if it would be possible to include Reiki in our session. Thankfully she was able to accommodate. First of all, the acupuncture itself was very pleasant and not painful (I just assumed it would be). She placed the needles in places that are known to enhance overall wellness as well as my scalp (still dealing with postpartum hair loss). Once all the needles were placed she stared on the reiki and I could feel it instantly. If you have never had reiki and are curious, I highly recommend it. Overall, I had such a great experience with Kristen. She was very accommodating with my appointment time and fit me in day of. Kristen was my first acupuncture experience. I didn't know what to expect but I was having a "weird" issue with numbness on part of my leg and I wanted to give it a try. She was easy to contact, appointment was easy to make and very accommodating for a first-timer. I ended up seeing her several times, continuing until my original problem was resolved. Kristen is an intuitive doing acupuncture. One of my favorite things she does is a wholistic assessment of my overall health and organ function in the beginning by feeling my pulse. At that point, she will decide where the weaknesses are and how to address with the needles. I saw her over 2023 maybe a couple dozen times while going through a major pancreatic cancer health crisis. She was actually one of my biggest supporters helping me to straddle the two worlds with the best of what allopathic and wholistic medicine has to offer. She was with me at a critical time when I didn't fully know what was wrong with me although I was already exhibiting signs of severe jaundice. She didn't discount the benefits of modern medicine, and was supportive in having a good well-rounded view on how to use the diagnostic side of allopathic medicine in conjunction with wholistic. That is how I was able to become cancer free without chemo after having 3rd stage Pancreatic Cancer over the past year. Kristen was the key person that helped me through the worst of it. She is integrated in the wholistic providers community of Santa Barbara like the Loggins Clinic for Hydrotherapy and others. So even though I am not a local, I could have all the benefits of having access to local wholistic providers through her. In this situation, you actually develop your wholistic team through Kristen. In addition, Kristen helped me to choose a new GI doctor that was much better than the current one that brought my Cottage Hospital medical team to the highest level possible on the central coast. Kristen guided me with suggestions for supplements, chinese herbs, diet and lifestyle. If you are experiencing a major health crisis or just need balancing, I think Kristen would be one of the best choices in Santa Barbara area. I still continue to stay in touch with her as I am a work in progress as she truly cares about my well-being. Today I went to Kristen for an acupuncture treatment, and had a wonderful experience. The location was easily accessible with plenty of parking. The space was clean and peaceful. I enjoy self care and practicing the energetic arts, but I was very surprised at the results of my appointment today. Kristen integrated a few different modalities, such as reiki and cupping with the acupuncture session. I felt a beautiful new flow of energy during the session which continued into the early hours of the same evening. And wow! It was just amazing. A cool, crisp sensation of prana energy began flowing up from my heart center all the way to the neck and throat area. It was calming and pleasant. Kristen is a very talented acupuncturist and healer! She is very very intuitive, and is especially gifted with women's health. I love her warm, inviting and beautifully decorated office. There is water and tea for you and a beautiful sitting area. The sessions start with an intake process where you can share your health concerns and goals, and she customizes a session for you each time, including application of needles, cupping, flower essences and essential oils. When you rest after the modalities are used she plays soft music and diffuses an essential oil so you can meditate and let everything settle. It's a wonderful experience each time and I highly recommend her. I went for 10 sessions and saw a complete reversal of my symptoms of trouble sleeping through the night, morning mental fog, body aches, and PMS symptoms. She recommended herbs during these ten weeks and I took them daily as she instructed and everything has changed for me physically.
