From the first moment we emailed/Skyped, it was like she just "got" my (then fiancé) husband and I. Courtney is out of Fort Wayne, and our wedding was in Indianapolis - but that didn't matter at all! Courtney came to Indy a few weeks before our wedding and we walked the venue and blocks around it (in 20-degree weather!) to determine exactly where we wanted shots, where to avoid, etc. Courtney was there for the rehearsal, through the entire day of the wedding and stayed through the later part of the reception. She made sure to capture what we wanted but also had super creative ideas that she directed us into for the best pictures. Her turnaround time is super quick too - our wedding was just before Mother's Day and she had no problem editing a few family shots in time for us to give them as gifts. We received all of our photos (in the CUTEST package in the mail) in less than three weeks after the wedding, which is unheard of! Courtney's photos are beautiful. She has a great eye when it comes to lighting and always had a great idea of how the image will come together. She was not only able to accommodate my needs, but she was also extremely flexible to work with me as her client. The pictures she did get were good but I didn't even receive half of the pictures you would expect from your wedding. I had specific requested previously the we get a picture of my daughter with just my dress before the wedding, that didn't happen. I did not get a single poses picture with any of the groomsmen. There was ONE pose of just me with all my bridesmaids. There is one single picture in any picture of my ring bear. There is not a picture of my daughter by herself. The pictures with parents only happened in one big group. With grandparents, we just did one group pictures and no individuald. And Brittany had pointed out multiple spots for pictures of just me and David and did only one with dead flowers in the back ground. And then said she was done. Mind you we litterally had 1.5 hours before the reception. I was so wrapped in the moment I didn't even realize any of the other thing. To top all of the missed things off I got charged $300 EXTRA for her going over in her 8 hours. She chose to get to my grandmas at 10 am and know my reception didn't start untill 6, with is 8 hours. She was overhead complaining that people had there phones out during the ceremony, and I'm sure that is why we, me and my husband, only posed in one spot. The morning of she also was talking trash about the bride and wedding she stop the weekend prior. I am extremely disappointed in her performance that day, the most important day of my life. I will never have her take a single picture for me again and I will never refer anyone to her services. I know you might say you are only losing one person but just remember how much I helped you start your business and how many people I have refers to you. I'm actually disgusted at how unprofessional, as a photographer, brittany was the day of and following days of my wedding.

Lauren was my favorite vendor during my wedding planning experience! She always displayed a high level of professionalism, grace, and care regarding her services for the wedding. During my countdown after booking, Lauren kept in touch with me monthly to see if I had any questions, concerns, or ideas - even with a year out. She offered to assist me in anyway since I was planning a out-of-town wedding, which I did take her up on a few times! I was able to view weddings she was doing and it was helpful to see the different types of wedding she did (location, budget, themes) as well as how she was maturing in her artform. Lauren improves her craft often by updating her equipment, improving packaging for products, and participating in educational opportunities in photography. Her prices were reasonable and allowed me to change my package several times without one complaint. On our wedding day, Lauren and her assistant (her husband, but she has others who serve in this role) was on time, friendly with our guests, and took many great photos. Lauren was very flexible, professional, and low-key. I loved that she was not pushy or forceful on photo opps. She didn't miss any key photos that I had asked her to take (even those few I had completely forgot I told her about!) and I was able to get a full reflection of the entire day. She captured our personality as a couple and did an excellent job doing the same for our wedding. Within 3 days, she had a preview up on the Portrait of a Lady Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/portraitofaladyphotography) and within 3-4 weeks, a full feature of highlights up. This took a lot of the guesswork out of what our photos look like and didn't keep us waiting for long for final product (4 weeks for the photo cd). Many of our guests commented on how great Lauren was during she wedding and was very impressed with her final products. So much so that one of our bridesmaids has since had photos taken by Lauren a few months later! I plan to use Lauren in the future (maternity, family, baby, etc), as so many of her client do as well.
