There is a separate kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom and hallway closet. The kitchen hosts a full ability to cook with microwave, cooker, oven, refrigerator and freezer. A small washer dryer combo is in the kitchen as well. Dishes, cups, utensils for 4 folks are provided. I stayed here so I could shop at the open market and visit tourist spots during the day and easily visit family in the evening in Solihull. The central bus station is down the street, so it's convenient to grab the coach at Heathrow to here and if booked well enough ahead, it only costs about $10 for a 2 hour bus ride. Two train lines are within walking distance, easily within 3 minutes. Major shopping stores are Selfridges (visible from your room), Marks and Spencers, and Debenhams. If you do a lot of sewing, a visit to the Silk City store is a must. A lot of the street noise is dampened when you close your windows and doors in the evening. The rest can be eliminated with decent ear plugs. There are warehouses nearby where work begins at 5 am. Wi-fi was included but it wasn't always working.

The Chinese quarter, Arcadian and Hippodrome are a short walk away so you could have decent nightlife too-BUT there is loads of noise on the street, so you may want to stay out all night yourself. The grocery store was well stocked, the food vendors were spot on. I'd like to give this place a check in the summer months when all the attractions are open. I'd definitely like to go back for another music festival there.

Our chalet (generous term) stank of smoke. In fact, weird and usually unpleasant smells were a bit of a running theme for the weekend. The upstairs stage which I think is the only permanent one at Butlins and so presumably where they do their Butlins entertainment the rest of the year, smelt like the carpet had been cleaned using that weird cinema nacho cheese. The site is generally pretty well looked after. The staff were decent. The shops convenient and, though you're not exactly going to get haute cuisine, the restaurants and bar selections were fine. On the plus, they have a pretty amazing (and bank account threatening) range of arcade games, fruit machines, dance machines, air hockey etc. And the swimming pool is great fun, and I challenge anyone not to feel like they're eight again when they launch themselves down the flumes...

Yeah, I have to admit that it is pretty cool, and the trains do come along here quite regularly. In fact, that they come through here regularly is actually pretty cool because it means that I don't get stuck in one place. Also, it is a relatively short walk to the main part of the town.

Room was big enough, if not massive, for two people but the beds were excellent and the bathroom well appointed and spotlessly clean. Had breakfast only once in two days which was a mistake. Should have done it both days. Very good. While the rest of the neighbourhood heaves at night, the bar here was quiet, mostly because they only allowed residents into the hotel at night. We were grateful for the comfort. Very happy to recommend and will stay here again.

Jurys Inn is a wonderful Central Budget Hotel…read more I managed to get a good deal on a couple of nights over this easter and it was great having a hotel with such a central position in the city. Just by the canal and an abundance of restaurant. All main attractions in the city less than ten mins walk away. It actually took ages to find a decent place at the right price based on previous reviews. Everyone commented on the noise from party goers everywhere - and in particular with Jurys Inn - the noise from the maids lift. But we plumped for Jurys Inn because they had the B&B deals and the company has a good rep. We simply requested a room away from the lift. As it was on the 11th floor we had two peaceful nights sleep in the most AMAZING bed ever. It was so huge I didn't even notice the Mrs was in the bed next to me when I woke up. The rooms are spacious and so so clean. There's no faffing in the room and no mini fridge (ie temptation) which is perfect for us. The whole hotel was clean and bright and pretty. Good security at night and efficient service throughout. Negatives -Awkward moment when checking in - the guy behind the counter was a tad baffled about two women sharing a double room, bless. -Annoying heating/air conditioning in room. It's just stupid, but if you admit defeat and call reception they can adjust it from there. -Breakfast. Poor lay out, naff choice for veggies. -Paid Wifi Despite the not so goods - for the price you can't get better for Bham City Centre. I would recommend it for couples on a city break of those who are looking for a decent place to rest and refuel.

It's a bit of a long walk but also a nice one if the weather is good for a traveler who wants to see the town and University en route to the hostel. I attended a great meeting there in April - the internet throughout the College Court had strong signals, and the meals were quite nice. We all felt a bit spoilt having table service arranged by the organizers for lunch and dinner - it gave us that much more time to talk with each other. I would gladly come back to the College Court. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's a bit of a trek to the better food in Leicester when one wants to eat out.

Water Orton is a really beautiful station that I have spotted in my way to Coleshill area and I was…read morereally impressed with this lovely gem placed in the North Warwickshire, still a Birmingham post code. Opened in 1842, Water Orton started to be operated by London Midlands just in 1909, with traces of its original station building. There is a free car parking next to the station where you can have another privileged view of its platforms and even it's just a simple and not busy stop, it's still possible to contemplate the traces of a historical site there. The service can be a bit confusing if you are not used to this. As there is no trains announcement or display boards, it's better to get your own train timetables to don't miss your service! The trains to Birmingham and Leicester are on platform 1 and on Platform 2 there is just service for Derby. There is no train operation on Sundays. One curiosity about its facilities: during the famous tornado that hit Birmingham in 1996, the wooden staircase of this station was damaged and it had to be replaced, changing it originals for a zig zag styled one. Despite its simplicity in the service, Water Orton station is part of one of those landmarks in Birmingham and it also takes you to an area of the city with fine restaurants, lovely pubs and independent shops ready to be explored.

Easy to get to 2 local train stations (Solihull and Shirley) for a reasonable taxi fee. Easy to get to Birmingham city and Touchwood shopping center via public transportation. It's does not offer on-site breakfast -- no problem, there's a Costa and a Wetherspoons in the same block offering great coffee and all. We did have a problem with the heat and it was immediately addressed by the very customer oriented front desk staff who somehow transmitted the problem to the next shift who double-checked it was resolved. In room coffee and tea available using the kettle. Free wi-fi was adequate for our usage (mostly social media). Beds were a trifle firm but they had lots of extra pillows to loan us. We enjoyed a couple of late evening meals in the attached Saracens Head Inn. We would definitely stay again.
