Jamie, one of the owners provided the estimate and followed up to arrange the prep work (removing the old asphalt, putting down the stone base, leveling and grading). After the prep was done and allowed to settle for a couple of weeks, the paving began. All of Jamie's crew were polite and professional. They paved our driveway on the hottest day of the year so far (45 degrees Celcius with the humidity). They have done such an amazing job!!!! It looks incredible!!!! As well, Jamie informed us that we could reference their web site to see how to care for the driveway now that it is newly paved. They did not lock the forks in on the bobcat and then told us to move them by hand. And when I did they fell off breaking my finger and splitting it open on the way to landing on my foot! I let the shady boss (Jamie) talk me into not claiming wsib so his insurance wouldn't go up. So I didn't! My mistake! After we got laid off for the season I then contacted him to get back to work because it's hard to find work these days! And I have five children and another on the way! And was told due to the low economy I wasn't welcome back. The only one not welcome back! I see them out working everyday and have been told they purchased a new truck! New equipment! And are doing 4 to 5 jobs a day! When I called Jamie out on this I got no response! So now I have no job and a finger and foot that will be messed up for the rest of my life because of their carelessness!!

During the consultation we warned him that there were wires near the fence because of our hot tub and pond, we also warned him the day of just to be cautious in the one spot. Turns out his team cut the wire straight through in 2 separate spots. When I came home from work he came to the door to get paid and told me he had already talked to my wife about the cut wires, but was going to show me just so I was aware. Taking Steve at his word, I paid him for the project and figured some resolution was in place. When my wife got home she told me she had absolutely no idea what I was talking about and she never actually spoke to Steve. I texted Steve to ask him about the whole ordeal and he had blocked my number. Hoping it was just an error with my service (giving Steve the benefit of the doubt), both my neighbour and my wife texted successfully, clarifying he had indeed blocked my number. His response to my wife when she asked how he wanted to handle this was as follows "Not sure what you want me to do. Its customers responsibility to have everything off fence and away from fence line. We weren't even in your back yard at all during the whole job. If it was 6 inches away from fence, it would not have been cut". I am not sure why it is my problem that you choose not to go into my backyard when I specifically told you the gate would be open or how after warning you multiple times to watch for the wires your response is if you moved it I wouldn't have cut it. I am sorry that the wiring has been there for over 10 years and didn't seem to be an issue for the last fence that was put in. We looked for a few months to find the right person to do the fence job and boy were we wrong about Steve and FPG Outdoor Structures. It is very sad that Steve and his company take 0 responsibility for something that they did wrong. I just wanted to share my experience so that anyone seriously looking into FPG Outdoor Structures gets a sense of how Steve runs his company and how he couldn't care less about anything he or his guys do. Being in the customer service industry I am not sure how this company can still operate if that is how they treat their customers. Our neighbour was interested in doing the remaining 2 sides of his property and is choosing not to move forward with Steve after this experience. If you are curious as to why they changed their name from The Fence Post Guys, go read the yellow pages review, "Devious. Didn't honour contract after initial payment (which they kept) after lots of excuses. Save yourself the aggravation." Wish I would have found this earlier.
