I had the unfortunate experience of hiring this company for lawn mowing, snowplowing and fixing up…read moremy landscaping beds. I was very disappointed in their quality of work and professionalism. In my opinion it was a very bad experience. They were supposed to trim all my bushes and trees. They forgot to trim several of them and the others were done haphazardly. They ripped out flowers that were perennials because they thought they were weeds. Many areas were missing weed barrier, even though it was in the contract. The company admitted that the job needed more mulch, but because they underbid the job and was losing money, they would not provide any more mulch. They also admitted that their workers were new and not properly trained. In my opinion they harassed us for more money because they could not estimate the job properly. The owner continously told us of a toll bill for $1800 he owed to gain our sympathy. The owner assured us that he had arborists working for him but this statement appears to be false looking at the completed project. For snowplowing, they had to be constantly called and asked when they were coming out. The company provided an expired certificate of insurance to trick me into signing a contract. They tried to tell me that a car insurance certificate would be just as good. I have a copy of the car insurance certificate the company gave me. This company has had numerous people complain about their snowplowing service, but they delete all of their negative comments and 1 star reviews off of their social media pages. This company was hired by my elderly neighbor to cut her grass. She is 90 years old and has a hard time seeing and hearing. She paid them a lot of money. They rarely show up to cut her grass. They never even provided her with a receipt for her money or a contract. Her family had to get involved to help her. They refused to bag the grass clippings after they cut my lawn even though the contract stated they would. The grass looked atrocious with all the loose grass on it. The company canceled my contract and wanted to give it to his friend. He was going to pay him a fraction of what I paid him and keep the rest for himself. The pictures submitted with this review is how this company actually left my lawn. When I explained to them that is was unacceptable they proceeded to cancel my grasscutting contract. Most businesses when they get negative reviews they get upset and do everything in their power to have the reviews removed. Instead businesses should look at the negative reviews as a learning tool to improve their business and their employees. People really do not want to put down local businesses but they most certainly do not want to be taken advantage of. We were referred to Peter Burke of Gaelic Clover Landscape Design by our landscaper. As we entered…read moreour final phase of landscaping which had (eventual) patio elevation, sun/shade areas differences and drainage concerns, we needed someone that could tie these along with the deer and pests present in our neighborhood into something that would not only be beautiful but grow and flourish. We realized we needed someone familiar with all these factors and the characteristics of shrub, tree, and "pests" we would ultimately consider. Our initial visit was more extensive and detailed than expected, and we knew we had found someone that could overcome the challenges we faced. After review of the project scope and our tastes, which included some Japanese/Oriental plants and shrub considerations, we began the process of viewing and analyzing dozens upon dozens of plants, shrubs and trees. As a result of our meetings and changes, Peter designed a backyard patio and surrounding gardens that were beyond our imagination. We have come to realize that since the project was completed in early June 2022, his knowledge of plant sizes, spacing, bloom times and colors has truly become apparent. While meeting and indicating "Yes, we like that, and that would work...," it wasn't until we have been living with the results of his vision and brilliance that it solidified just how talented he is. The various shrubs and perennials (we did not plant annuals) have begun to bloom and display colors throughout the summer season and have been a true joy. We cannot wait for the fall foliage to reveal itself. The watering and care we have shown has allowed us to witness the growth firsthand and has left us in awe of just how beautiful it looks. In summary, we would without reservation, fully recommend Peter Burke as a landscape designer, as his design ability, creativity, knowledge and patience is well worth any investment.
