I tried this nail salon for the first time last month because a good friend of mine goes here regularly! Tina and Ava are super sweet nail technicians and are highly recommended by people I know. They know their clients by name and have built a great reputation! Tina did my nails and she was very tentative, making sure that the color and chrome finish was what I was hoping for. She has a kind demeanor and I can tell she genuinely wanted me to have a good experience as a first timer (in a long time) getting nails done. I went here for a pedicure and came back later in the week for a shellac manicure. I was able to call and make a reservation (I called the day before for my manicure that I went with a friend). They do a nice job for the price. The manicure went fast but I like that they "got to business" and did not "small talk". They take card but tips are given in cash (per their request). UPDATE: The toe nails were regular polish and done earlier than my shellac. My toe nails have held up pretty well but one of my shellac nails came off and it's been less than two weeks. Usually I can go 3+ weeks with Shellac so I'm a little bummed about that. Still pleased overall. read more

I've been coming to Dream Nails consistently for nearly 2 years now. The nail techs are all so friendly and do a fabulous job. I try to make an appointment but have never had an issue walking in when necessary. Their selection of colors in phenomenal and my dip always looks fabulous for 2-3 weeks (and would longer, but my nails grow super fast). The gal filed my nail beds and then gave me a so so mani. Come to find out shellac was still on my nails! Shame on them for such poor quality. Shellac needs to be removed with acid tone! I'm regular client at the Dream Nails. I usually see Lucy but that was not the case on my last visit. I made an appointment for 2:45pm. Got there and it was packed with "spring break" teenagers getting there nails done. I checked in and then waited for my "appointment". They finally got to me around 3:15pm, but really they got me to a table to "soak" my nails. It was about 3:30pm when I finally was able to get nail tech to do my nails. Nails were great, but my only complaint is that if your going to make appointments you should honor them. I felt that the "spring break" teenagers were more important than the the people that come there on a regular basis. read more

Stopped in for a pedicure and had the worst pedicure!! Fastest pedicure I have EVER had it was 22 minutes from start to finish and that was time including picking out my polish. I never got to relax, no soaking, hot towel was one towel for both legs laid on my legs and was removed before it even had a chance to get cold. I had already cut my nails before I even got there and did my heels. I wanted more time to soak, relax and be pampered. Didn't happen there. Probably won't be back. Not a dream fan. They should either not have taken my reservation do 5 or honored my time slot. I don't mind a 10-15 minute wait, but this is ridiculous. I wanted a pedicure before going on a trip and I had been spending a lot of time in this area so I stopped in to Dream Nails. I didn't make an appointment but I was able to walk in and was seated right away at 3:30 on a week day. I would recommend calling ahead or making an appointment if you're on a tight schedule. I was seated in a super comfortable massage chair that started rumbling right away. The control for the chair was a bit confusing, so I didn't mess with it, but the massage was a bit intense for me. The aesthetician lined the foot bath with a brand new plastic liner, which I had never seen before but really appreciated. The entire salon was very clean and bright. The pedicure included the basic stuff as well as a short leg massage and hot towel application. I personally liked the fact that there was no small talk because sometimes I just want to zone out and be silent for awhile. I loved the hot towel application - it was soothing and relaxing to me, although I think some people may feel that the towel is too hot, so be aware! My pedicure has held up very well with zero chips and it's been over two weeks since I got it. I paid $27 plus tip, which is comparable or even cheaper than most places I've visited. I'm so glad I decided to stop in to Dream Nails, and I will definitely be back for my next pedicure. read more

My daughter and I came in to have acrylic nails done for the first time.. ever. I will never have acrylic nails again because of this place. not only were we over charged, I got the lady who was rushing and had no idea what she was doing. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know what they should look like either so I left with nails way too thick, the acrylic lumpy and uneven, and super uneven painted "tips". Im now being laughed at because of these. My nails are so thick I can't even scratch an itch..... we stopped on our way home from up north and unfortunately am hours away, so I can't just go in and have my $80 dollar nails fixed. The pedicure wasn't bad but it was super rushed and the polish on my toenails is uneven and just looks like I did it myself. I tried this salon twice with my daughters. The first time we had to wait over an hour. We decided to try once more before never going back. Today, I called first and they said, "Come on in." THEY WILL ALWAYS SAY THIS and then make you wait. Only one technician speaks English. I had to ask for a clean towel for my daughter because I saw it wasn't changed from the previous client. Her water bowl then had a nail in it (not hers). Stations aren't sanitized between clients. I felt like I needed to shower after I was done. Nails are fine, but the service and cleanliness aren't. Went for the first time a couple weeks back as part of a wedding party. Intentionally chose a gel color from the samples that were labeled 'OPI' because I have had very bad experience with other brands (specifically DND) leaving a ton of damage to my nails (due to it not coming off via soaking, and requiring a high level of filing to get it off). Went to get it removed from another salon this evening that I frequent and know has very competent and honest staff - and what Dream Nails had put on was clearly not OPI - and required a ton of filing to come off. The tech that did the removal said it was the brand DND on my nails. Now my nails have crazy damage. I am shocked that they would blatantly lie to customers about what brand of product they're using. Will not be back!!! read more

I got a dip (need a thicker coverage so my nails don't break because I am very rough with them). I had asked for another layer. Received that on all but 4 nails. 2 days later two of my nails broke. Very disappointed with my first visit today. The pedicure was OK but nothing special. All of the technicians who weren't with clients were on their cell phones while the shop was in complete disarray. There's nothing upscale about an environment where there's groceries laying out against walls and chairs are askew all over the place and nothing is clean and tidy. Very bad first impression. The worst was when the technician next to me took water out of the pedicure bowl of another client and poured it into mine while I was sitting there. Never made a comment. Acted like I was invisible. I have been trying to find a good nail salon in Grand Rapids and I finally found the one! I will never go anywhere else to get my nails done. Dream Nails was AMAZING! They are a little pricier than other nail places (only by a few dollars per service), but you can tell that the money is invested back into the business. Dream nails is an actual nail spa, they are cleaner than any facility I have ever been in and use high quality products. Unlike many nail places, there is nothing sketchy about the place (the nail polish is not clumpy or old, there is good ventilation, everything is clean and organized, the techs always wear gloves, not rude/rushing when it comes to payment, etc). There are so many color options to choose from and my nail tech was constantly asking me whether I liked my nails to ensure good service. I have had dip nails on for almost four weeks without any lifting! Dream nails has also been extraordinary with COVID-19 measures. They have plastic barriers everywhere, the techs are using masks and face shields, gloves, using disposable pedicure kits and plastic bags for the foot tubs, do non-contact temperature checks, and even have pens that have been sanitized that you use to sign in before using and disposing of the pen in the "dirty" bucket. Overall, I can't wait to support this business again. I have not been able to stop dreaming about the next nails I will get here. read more

I had a pedicure and dip polish application. I'm giving this salon two stars because the pedicure was well done, but rushed a bit. The dip polish was awful. The owner did it and she always looks so miserable and is not customer service oriented whatsoever. The polish was not smooth and very thick and uneven in different places. She left gunk caked under my nails and filed them to stubs after I specifically said I am trying to grow them out. They began to CHIP three days after I had them done. I've never had dip polish chip and have kept them on for up to six weeks before. It's been a headache trying to find a decent salon in GR after moving from Florida and this one is definitely not it. read more
