Magic Nails is right next to the Admiral station on Alpine south of the freeway. I stopped in for a pedicure based on the other good Yelp reviews, especially in comparison to the other proximal salons with abysmal reviews. What a little gem! Immediate greeting and quick service. It's small: just 3 pedi chairs and 4 mani stations. But I was thoroughly pleased with my service, the Deluxe Natural Pedicure. For the cost, I received a series of relaxing treatments, including leg and foot massage, peppermint cooling gel, exfoliating scrub, and a precise polish job selected from an extensive and current polish wall of mostly OPI. The best part? No callus shaming or aggressive tool use. The salon was also properly ventilated, with lots of natural light. There is a considerable amount of traffic and noise from the adjacent business, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a more quiet and relaxing atmosphere. My tech Linda was thorough, polite, and precise. She took time and care in providing my service, which I greatly appreciated. I would certainly come back again if I was in the area. Never in my life I have I paid 86.00 for the most trash nails.. mine has ridges all over. The gap between the side of my nails is awful. It took her 15 minutes to do my nails. She rushed through it with no one there. My best friend had the guy and he didn't ask what she wanted. Just started going. And then my friend asked me what I what I was getting and she said ya I want that. He continued to further do whatever he wanted. And he painted on the French tip and it is goopy and nasty. When I said something to them they got an attitude and tried to argue with me. Her nails are not the same length they are not filed correctly. They are a complete mess. So now we get to pay to get our nails done somewhere else because we refuse to be seen with these nails. It was not a welcoming feeling they said absolutely nothing. Asked zero questions. And I can promise it will never happen again. read more

Bad. I had acrylic nails on and it felt like the guy was just pealing them off with crowbar to my nails. I Had to stop him and tell him to soak them off. Then the woman painting my nails didn't do a very good job. It's all messy around the sides, and she did different patterns on both hands and didn't follow directions because she spoke no English. read more

I was in town for business. I needed a pedicure and decided to go to this salon based on other reviews. I wasn't greeted when I walked in the door and the place wasn't very clean. I waited about 45 minutes and then brought me to the chair. I sat and soaked in cold water. I asked for the deluxe pedicure and didn't get it. I went at about 545. By the time they were ready for me, They were close to closing so they hurried. My nails aren't evenly cut and my massage was very rushed. They were nice people but I wouldn't recommend spending 25$ on a pedicure. read more

This is one of the best salons I've been to. It has three pedi chairs, and four mani spots. Even if they are busy they take their time and make my nails perfect. I got a full set the first time and a pedi the second time. My full set was perfect! When they grew out you could hardly even tell that they needed filled! They didn't hurt my fingers or toes at all. They are super polite. My pedi was so relaxing, she took her time and didn't dig at my toes. Hands down best salon ever. read more

This was the worst place that I have gotten my nails and pedicure done in 20 years. My left hands nails was longer than the right he didn't push my cuticles back so the acrylic and nail polish was on my skin. When the lady did my pedicure she spoke no English so her daughter had to interpenetrate everything for her. She did do a good job massaging my feet and legs but my 10 year old could do a better job of painting them. read more

I've been getting acrylic nails for 8 years. I just moved here from Detroit so I need a new salon. This place will NOT be it. She stopped doing my nails to take a personal phone call, she then went back to my nails but soon stopped again to make me get up and move to a different table so she could sit in a pedicure chair and Facebook message. While my nails were drying she put her feet up on the table next to me and start doing designs on her damn toes. I have NEVER been so appalled in my life. They did not change any of the heads on their tools before putting them away either, so the next person probably won't get clean tools. I am so disappointed. This is the first time in 8 years I haven't tipped my nail tech. read more

Came here based off the solid reviews I read prior. Needless to say nobody mentioned this was conjoined to a tacky admiral gas station. Made an appointment before seeing the place so I went with it. Not a place you go to get pampered, more or less a place you go to because you need your nails done. Did leave with a great shape to my acrylics but interesting experience all together. read more
