I have never bought anything from here. The owners don't mind...at least i don't think they do- they've never said anything to me! They have a lot of good items in this shop, such as mattresses, bed stands, desks, wardrobes, and chairs...did i mention the chairs? They have the best selection of chairs around! The chairs are probably the best value itesms in the store. Everything else seems quite expensive comapred to similar items at Tescos or Ikea. However, we need to support the independants so i definately would reccommend giving Clearance Centre a visit. The owners leave you free to browse, and the majority of items are second-hand meaning bargains all round! Brilliant!

Besides that, they have other bits and bobs of furniture inside the store. I'm not sure about the quality, but they do have plenty of choice, and with mattresses from £29 (for a single), how could you say no? A price of a top from Topshop could be the price of comfortable sleeping for well, for the duration that you keep the mattress! Staff are friendly too, so, for some cheap furnishings, this place is worth looking at.

Everything is very thrown together in here, and I suspect that underneath that first layer of shelves, cupboards and tables, there are more shelves, cupboards and tables.. and maybe a lamp or five. It's an alright shop if you've got a really low budget for furniture in your house (students, take note!), and maybe you won't get the best design or quality, but I suppose they are functional and good for a temporary solution. It's a bit of a jumble sale in here so be prepared to be rubbing shoulders with other customers, but if you don't mind this then its definitely worth a visit for all your furniture needs. The reason why I have dropped a couple of stars is that even in the snow and heavy rain, they still leave out their mattresses which makes me a little concerned of the quality I would be receiving if I bought anything here.

The premises extend over two floors and they have a wide selection of bed available, including orthopaedic beds. Although not to my taste the shop stocks a range of cane furniture, small tables, cupboards etc... and a selection of paintings. I must admit though the shop has been there for over twenty years it never seems to be busy (it does look rather drab from the outside, however I have seen their delivery vans out and about in Cardiff, so some people must be buying their beds!

Okay, I'll admit, I didn't go in here to buy a bed…read more I was walking down Penarth Road one day, when it started to rain. This wasn't your usual Welsh rain, either. This was proper hardcore 'I'm going to rain on you' kind of rain. So I dashed inside the nearest store, and found myself confronted with a large selection of beds and a friendly-looking floor worker. He welcomed me, as I sheepishly explained about the rain and left little wet foot prints. Then, as it continued to pelt it down outside, we had a little chat. Dreams is no going to be unfamiliar to a lot of you, but what immediately struck me were the significantly cheap prices to the beds. As large companies go, Dreams is also pretty green, if you care about that kind of thing. But mainly, if I ever need a bed, I'll go back here because the staff were to nice to me. Although they were busy and still working, they took the time of day just to say hello and smile at me, even though I clearly was a lost cause of a customer. A lovely bunch of people.

When we were shopping for beds recently, we ended up with Dreams and were very happy with it. We…read moredidn't get the 'hard sell' when we went in, the way we did in a couple of other bed stores, though there was definitely a bit of 'soft sell' going on and we were given some free cups of tea. The prices were pretty similar to all the other stores. They set up an interest-free repayment scheme without any problems or complaints. For delivery, we were given a pretty accurate idea of how long it would take to arrive. Then a few days before delivery, another phone call, then on the morning of delivery, another one- very thorough. A good quality mattress turned up, no problems. Hopefully we won't have to shop for beds too often but next time we do I'll happily go back to Dreams.

The stock would benefit from a larger shop floor, and customers would also probably enjoy the luxury of an allied car park, instead of on street parking. That said, I would imagine that a lot of students shop here, and so to site this store out of town would exclude a significant proportion of the people that are liable to shop here... Sooo, may be a City Road location is just about perfect after all? As you would imagine, the products that are sold here are ultimately the least desired items that remained in the Catalogue warehouses across the land. The X Catalogue Shop rounds them all up and slashes the price, ultimately offering them at as much as a 75% discount of the original retail price. Large household items like beds, tables and sofa's are stacked high, and as the turnover is quick, there's not as much care and attention paid to the display of these things as there would be in more pricey outlet. This is entirely understandable considering the circumstances. The X Catalogue Shop does in fact have a large warehouse situated out of town, which is regularly called upon to replenish the stock at the retail outlet. They reckon that they keep as many as 10,000 items in stock at any one time, which pretty impressive! The best thing about this shop is that all items are assembled, even if it was originally a flat-pack item when being sold by the catalogue. This allows the store to check for damage as well as offering the customer added value. I for one have been foxed by the instructions accompanying more than one flat-pack self-assembly item that I have bought, and really appreciate the fact that The X Catalogue Shop do all of the head scratching for us!

It's well-placed, probably attracting lots of cash-strapped students and other budget shoppers, and being right in the heart of Roath it certainly has plenty of students in the vicinity. With some rented accommodation sparsely furnished, this shop offers cheap stock to help furnish your rooms without spending a fortune - and I'm sure a few local landlords also use this place to pick up some bargains to replace broken or tired old furniture in their student lets. If you're after cheap exercise bikes or other gym equipment, they currently seem to have plenty of that sort of gear in stock as well - you can see some on display outside the front of the shop on finer days!

This Asda living is brilliant because it stocks everything!!Downstairs they sell clothes shoes bags…read morecoats etc for all the family then upstairs they sell everything for your home i.e table lamps,cushions,rugs,duvet sets and much more. Prices are very competitive and there's plenty of free parking. The store is so big it has its own cafe..ideal for a sit down.
