My wife and I started looking around and there are a number of things that drew us here to start. 1) Location. It's probably 35 mins outside of downtown Dallas. There is not more space per day to build (in the areas we looked) so a lot of buildings are going vertical and going higher. Also a lot of the homes are north of $400,$500 even on up from that. 2) County feel but close to Historic Downtown Mckinney. We are 5 miles or so away from Downtown McKinney which was a big thing for my wife. Location here is pretty key. 3) Outdoor space. There is going to be 450 acres of Greenbelt space, parks, hike and bike trails, beach entry swimming pool, nature playground, event lawn, clubhouse, disc golf, fishing piers, kayak & canoe launch, scenic overlooks and more. They will have a couple of schools in the master planned community as well. Overall we couldn't be happier to move into our house and the process with Beazer couldn't have been any better. Now that our house is all fixed up I have to say I really, really do like it, just like I liked the model home. It has tons of windows to let in natural light and that's my favorite part. There's plenty of space and lots of storage. Some designs could be better, as we lived in a townhome before this and had a larger master closet and larger garage, but overall, our home is nicely designed and comfortable. I have debated leaving a review. We have been in our home and have had so many issues. Within the…read morefirst few months we had multiple requests and eventually ran out of time and were told we were no longer within our "grace" period. However after now having replaced our HVAc system 2 times in less than 4 years we had to do more extensive digging. We checked in the attic and noticed our soffits are sealed with foam which is stopping any air from getting out of the attic space and pushing moisture down into our home. We also could not figure out why we kept having a natural gas smell when our hot water heater was on. With no ventilation it cant pull fresh air in to operate appropriately. This is something that violates the Texas Deceptive Trade practices. Warranties are one thing, but how can a warranty help when the initial installation was grossly and negligently done. Our original home builder was Graypoint.
