I have an abundance of new and like new professional and business casual attire to donate. Many things with tags still. But because I work and they have such a limited window of time to accept donations is one day per week in the middle of the work day, I can't get there!! So frustrating! After trying to find a Friday that would work for many, many months I gave everything to another non-profit that supports women. DFS was always the gold standard, but I think they are missing out on so many who would like to help. Make it easier for us to support you and your clients!! read more

5/23/25 - I tried to donate 10 suits today only to find out that the sign on their door says they're not taking donations until September 1. Wish they would update their website. read more

I went by the map directions; Odd it seemed to be an apartment complex. I called after 10:00 on Friday the June 30th and received their voicemail. As of this morning no return phone call. Personally I'm not comfortable at this point in donating any clothing. read more

Pretty interesting donation drop off location! A little confusing and hard to find. The entrance that is closest to DFS is the 635 entrance to Valley View. It's located on the second floor. The closest "landmark" is the AMC. The representative that answered the phone was courteous and offered volunteers to assist pick up from the car. Valley View, the once popping, glitzy retail center that comprised at least 75% of my early childhood shopping memories, now sits as a barren, dimly lit carcass :( The store front itself sits in the old Forever21. DFS did an excellent job reviving the old store. When I arrived I was greeted warmly. Nice seating area near the entrance. It has a welcoming, bright atmosphere and is bulging with clothes...which raised my eyebrow just a little. I intended for 100% of my donation to be given to someone directly instead of resold, which is why I drove out 20 miles and didn't give to Goodwill or Salvation Army. The website, which I thoroughly read did not mention the resale aspect. However, I was assured by the employee that the portion of the donation that is "deemed suitable" is given to clients that they work with to suit for interviews, which made me happy. The part that they "deem not professional" is then resold, which was probably the stuff in the store. I guess the only part I was still iffy about is that the store was FULL of clothes. I already made the drive out and took like 25 minutes to find the place so I'll just have to have faith that it'll go to people who need it the most. Oh well. Years ago I had fallen on extremely hard times and was introduced to DFS. At that time the location was different. It was life changing!!! When I left there after a day of education on different aspects of getting employment, I felt better about myself than I had in years. It's not like anything I'd ever been too nor experienced nor have I since. I'm glad I'm able to leave a review testifying to to the good and amazing work they do. I left there with not just 2 professional complete outfits, but I left with pride! I went the very next day and landed a professional job. I believe that's because I was given the opportunity to look professional, educated, and worthy. Until the pandemic I was able to maintain my employment and excelled in whatever I tried. You do see a lot of clothing, shoes, ect. At first it appears that there not letting go of a thing. But they do...A women that's interested in improving her chance of employment opportunities will leave there with an outfit that suits her body and soul! They absolutely won't let you just go grab whatever and throw it together, as matter of fact they will tell you quickly if something is not suitable for you. Once you leave and land that job that requires more clothes, you are able to return and secure more clothing to maintain that professional look. It's the help that teaches women to help themselves. I recommend this program to any woman that is in the need of employment and needs a little help landing that Job. Ladies that have donated there items there items to this cause as well as the ones that educate and empower women I'd like to personally say Thank You! This place needs more reviews! It's amazing. My sister and I wanted to give our mother's clothing to a special place. It's taken us two years to go through her clothes after her passing so this was an important step. We walked into DfS and were warmly greeted. We took a thorough tour of the facility by the well informed and effervescent Board Chair. It is such an impressive operation and well organized. (In regard to the 9/9/16 review: They have moved out of Valley View mall into a beautiful office space which looks like a retail store. I believe there are lots of clothes because, as I recall, each woman is given a wardrobe of 25 pieces to start her new journey. Hope that helps!) read more

I had never heard of Dress for Success until I began research for an organization to donate my gently used business attire. If you're anything like me, you're concerned about where your donations really end up. I wanted to ensure that my donation landed in the hands of women who "really" needed them & could benefit from them. All in all, I wanted to be a blessing to someone! This was so important for me, that I prayed the organization to which I donated my items would truly be a blessing to women that needed them. After visiting Dress for Success- Dallas' website, and reading their mission & purpose, let's just say that I was confident this was the organization. The premise of their organization is one that is very near & dear to me. I am such an advocate of empowering and uplifting women, and to do this for women that may not be as financially/economically fortunate as the next is absolutely awesome! I visited Dress for Success-Dallas a little over a week ago to donate my items. It was such an experience, and I was only donating!!! I'm still in awe of my visit! Since visiting, I've urged family/friends to donate their items as well. They accept women's business professional suits, blouses, slacks, skirts, shoes, handbags & accessories to provide women with interview attire. From the moment that I arrived to the moment that I left, I was very much impressed. It began with Alice who warmly greeted me when I arrived, she was helpful & hospitable. I called their office & she met me & brought a cart for me to load my items from my vehicle. She was thorough and explained to me in detail the process for donating my items. This was a plus for me, as she was the first point of contact and she definitely set the tone for the organization, as well as the remainder of my visit. Alice was very professional, as was Carly and the other staff that I met. Upon entering, the Dress For Success office was warm & welcoming. I had the pleasure of taking a tour of the office; I was flabbergasted to say the least! Walking through the different rooms, as Alice explained the purpose of each, gave me chills. They offer so much more than just a "suit" to prepare women for their new careers. The staff is extremely passionate about their purpose. When women visit, they will receive more than a day's attire & a day's confidence. They will receive an experience that will have a life-long impact. There are affirmations & inspiring words throughout the office. The décor & set-up of each room was remarkable. I received the feeling that their clients are made to feel important & special. I also had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. Lauren Freeman, the Chairman of the Board for the Dallas chapter; this was the cherry on top. The passion & fulfillment just flowed from her; this is truly her calling. She's down-to-earth & her disposition was pleasant, professional and warm as well. My tour of the office with Dr. Freeman left me speechless also. After visiting with her, I left inspired!! This is a phenomenal group of women! After my visit, I'm even the more confident that I made the right choice for my donations! read more
