Well, unfortunately, I ended up needing my first root canal recently following years of night grinding and clenching, which killed the root in one of my lower front teeth. It was discovered completely by accident (shout-out to Dr. Walton at Walton Orthodontics!) when I went in for TMJ pain and X-rays revealed this additional problem. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Skidmore and his staff at Acacia Endodontics in Casa Grande! They were so understanding when I had to reschedule after I contracted COVID-19, and then later when I was confused on whether I was to go to the Chandler or Casa Grande office for my procedure! Once I actually went in to have it done, they said I was a record 15-minute root canal, and Dr. Skidmore joked he was sure I wanted a two-hour root canal! Ha ha! Before he started his work he joked, "Let's get this party started!" LOL! ;) They had nice music playing in the background (country--my favorite, and in fact Brad Paisley my favorite country artist came on right when they started drilling!). Dr. Skidmore has such an amazingly friendly and relaxed "bedside manner" it is ridiculous and all his staff are just as nice! Definitely give these guys a try, and do NOT worry about pain. They were very gentle and it was practically painless (just the numbing med injection when the needle first goes in hurts a hair, but nothing worse than any filling I've ever had). Thanks, Dr. Skidmore + staff! I will shout your praises from the rooftops for anyone who will listen!

Dr. Wright is amazing, and his nurse Kim is the absolute sweetest. This was my very first time getting a root canal and I was very nervous to say the least. I told Kim I'm terrified of needles, and the not knowing of what's going on, she talked to be about everything, showed me the scans, and even held my hand while getting numbed. Dr. Wright made sure I was completely numb before even touching my mouth, and during the whole process they both asked me if I was okay, making sure I wasn't in any pain. They also called me the day after to make sure I was feeling alright and if I had any questions! If I ever need any root canals ever again I will definitely be visiting this office again. I will be recommending them to all my friends and family!

He is a trained and certified endontist, which means he has years of additional schooling to specialize in surgical procedures, like root canals. A friend had recommended him, and he got me in at once. I had a broken rear molar. I had been 'self-treating' it; i.e. neglecting it, for over a year. It broke last year, a few weeks after my first cleaning in years. Over the last year, I had done everything I could to keep it flossed and clean, but in the last few months, I had begun to experience pain. I had no idea how bad it would ultimately get. The first thing I noticed was pain in my tooth when drinking a cold drink. Everything got worse and worse after that. By the time I finally convinced myself to get help, the pain was so bad that it would wake me multiple times every night. I was miserable and exhausted. I was becoming short with my girlfriend. And I was really beginning to fall behind in my work. Thankfully, notwithstanding my foolishly waiting to get help for so long, Dr. Schuh and his assistant Sharon saved the tooth! They gave me my first root canal, and I honestly felt no pain the entire time! The closest thing to pain was a brief spicy/tingling sensation, after one of the local anesthetic shots. Minutes later, I suddenly felt euphoric. The pain in my tooth was gone! I think I had forgotten what it feels like to not be in pain :( The whole experience was so relieving and pleasant. Dr. Schuh and Sharon were friendly and relaxed, yet meticulous and precise at every step, from imaging, to measure my teeth, including the size and location of my roots, to administering the local anesthetics, through the removal, sterilization, and filling procedures. They communicated so well, and practiced "measure twice, cut once," at every step. They mentioned they had worked together since Dr. Schuh first started practicing, 13 years ago, and it really showed in how they got so much done with nothing feeling rushed. I suspect that the new facility and equipment helped in this regard as well. For example, their imaging machine was comfortable, and did my whole mouth in one go. In contrast, imaging was seriously uncomfortable, and took at least 20 minutes at my cleaning last year, with me having to repeatedly hold still, in multiple uncomfortable positions, with huge slabs in my mouth. Ultimately, thanks to Dr. Schuh and Sharon, I went from having two weeks of pain, and worrying that my life was about to fall apart from sleep deprivation, to feeling "real" again in a little over two hours. They were so caring, friendly, and skilled. If you are facing a scary procedure like a potential root canal, you should go see Dr. Schuh (even if, like me, you have to drive from Scottsdale!) Dr. Schuh can literally save your tooth with no pain. Every day I spent with the pain getting worse and worse was just foolish, as the pain means you are in danger of losing the tooth, and having to deal with the expense and complications that come from that (e.g. implants). There is no chance I would ever use anyone else if this happens again. Seriously. Go see Dr. Schuh at Pinnacle in Casa Grande and get out of the hurt box, and back to your life!

The front office staff were so wonderful and patient about my insurance and having to reschedule my appointment twice. When I finally had my appointment I was a little nervous. Destiny who did my x-rays and cleaning was so nice and gentle. She understood that I was nervous and gave me positive words and reinforcement that I was doing well. This continued with Dr. Brooks as he listened tot my concerns and checked everything out! I was able to return the following day for part one of that deep cleaning without fear and trepidation. Tony was awesome and got the job done with no needles in my mouth and very little pain or discomfort. I sincerely appreciate how the staff accomodated me. After suffering from Lingual Nerve Damage over a decade ago, I was so deadset against any deep cleaning and hadn't allowed any dentist to even suggest it since. Dr Jones explained the way the rules and regulations trickle down and how insurance companies view procedures. He did so in simple language that I could understand and then suggested the topical anesthetic over a needle injection for the deep clean. I can't express how much that negated the fear in my mind.
