I'm deeply frustrated with this clinic and I'm so glad I switched. First off, they told me that…read morethey don't take my insurance and I had to pay out of pocket. That's fine, not everyone is in network, but the way they said it made me think that I have zero fertility coverage, not just that they specifically aren't covered (the clinic I switched to DOES accept my insurance). I should have checked with my insurance but they definitely should have been more clear. Anyway, so every time I had an appointment I checked out at the front desk and asked what we owe. My intention was to pay out of pocket as we went, every single time. Yet after my first and only failed IUI, we were told we had a surprise $700 bill. I repeatedly asked to speak with the finance team that never called me back. Also, after the failed IUI, I didn't get a SINGLE phone call or message in the portal indicating sympathy. Nothing whatsoever, just something to the effect of "let us know when you want to come in again". We pay thousands of dollars out of pocket and you can't leave one voicemail saying we're so sorry this didn't work? Nothing?! And instead just "hey you owe us another $700" I'll leave a single star because their front desk person seemed nice.

Regardless of what they tell you you will owe or what is covered by insurance, do not believe them. Get absolutely everything pre approved in writing down to individual tests and visits even when they tell you they are covered because they will fall back on a general waiver they force you to sign at the beginning. They take no responsibility in providing accurate cost estimates and will absolutely blame you for their lies. We were told that we would have no costs for a given cycle and even with insurance coverage for the procedure, they claimed that we should have known that they were not contracted by the insurance provider for the specific treatment. When we asked for the contract details, which would have been the only way to know this in advance and determine that their guidance was wrong, they refused and said it was private. So their position is that even if they tell us something wrong and provide a service they are not contracted to provide, it is on us to know the truth they refuse to disclose and because we signed a waiver, they can charge us anything they want. Do not go to this clinic. If you do, don't trust any numbers they say or quote. And get ready for the most irresponsible and unprofessional example of exploiting patients.

This review is incredibly overdue. Forgive me this may be long…read more Over 10 years ago now, I experienced my first pregnancy and delivery at a health system in South Jersey that was both problematic and traumatic to say the least, with health complications as well as proofs of negligence, during my both prenatal and antepartum care-issues that arose typically would have had adverse outcomes to both myself and baby. Following that, I went on to search where I could receive the best gyn care going forward, reading through reviews and ratings and I found that in Penn Medicine. I was given an appointment with Dr Bavuso, who at the time was at the Woodbury Heights location. Dr. B exuded the utmost kindness, made me feel comfortable, listened to my concerns, and just exhibited the bedside manner that all physicians should. 2018 -to my surprise was pregnant and I was informed she was now in Center City at Washington Square permanently. Of course, asked to have my care transferred there. The care I received as a pregnant mother was top notch. Every precaution was taken, from tests to preventive measures. Night and day difference in care from the other health system. As someone who had a problematic first experience, naturally one would be anxiety ridden with a new pregnancy that's deemed high risk. She calmed my fears throughout, quickly responded to messages via MyPennMedicine no matter how minuscule the question might have been. I am beyond grateful that her and colleagues delivered my healthy little girl via cesarean nine months later, February 2019 2020-a second high risk pregnancy with Penn Medicine this time in midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite many new proceedings and changes, the quality of care of I was given yet again was phenomenal. I didn't feel rushed during appointments, all my needs were met. Nine months later, again she brought my healthy baby, a boy, into the world via cesarean, March 2021 Words can't express enough the gratitude I have for Dr B and her team. I trust her judgment and comfortably know that whatever she recommends is in her patients best welfare. Also, as a woman of color, I know there is a disparity in care that other women may experience in obstetric care. I can 100% say that I have never, ever experienced this as a patient that has had gynecological, obstetrical, MFM and postpartum care for a number of years here now, at Washington Square and at Pennsylvania Hospital. You are in great hands, with Penn Medicine at Washington Square, and I am so thankful to now have had two healthy pregnancies resulting in two healthy children due to the good hands we were in with the 15th floor office.

I once waited for an hour just for a vaccination appointment with a medical assistant. I had an IUD appointment scheduled, they called 90 minutes before the appointment and cancelled it, just rescheduled it without asking if the new date/time was acceptable or fit my schedule. It wasn't. They then told me I'd have to wait another 4-6 weeks for a new appointment. They called after 9 am to cancel an 11 am appointment, so I had already used a sick day from work, etc. There was no apology, no nothing Just "this is the next soonest we can get you in" weeks later. Most of the doctors here just push birth control or other meds, without getting to the bottom of what is causing an issue. Did the midwives safely deliver my daughter and save my life when I had preeclampsia? Yes. Is Dr. Ewing a great provider to see if you are in perimenopause or menopause? Yes. Otherwise, absolutely, unequivocally, do not waste your time here. Because you will waste plenty of time and be incredibly frustrated. Edited: This is related specifically to the practice at 800 Walnut, 12th floor. I couldn't agree more with a previous reviewer who said " I view the office as a flaming wall I have to climb in order to see the doctors I've come to trust." There's just one doctor here I trust, but yes, I agree 100%

Due to impossibility scheduling, I landed on this location to not delay my annual by months. Scheduling - inconvenient. They have the MyChartJefferson, but I would go in every single morning around 7 am and click every single day that is available on the calendar, and every single day it was unavailable. I played that game for a month. Finally I messaged them on MyChart and they got me scheduled, but each year scheduling seems to be difficult. My appointment keeps getting pushed back 2 months + past my annual, but it is what it is - American Healthcare. Dr. Lackritz is great, the best GYN I've had in a while and why I continue to return to see her. I had a relatively smooth experience at this location. When you enter on the ground floor they check you in, and give you a paper and direct you downstairs. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment, and was seen appx 15 minutes after my appointment time, annoying but relatively typical of healthcare in the states. Fingers crossed for a better scheduling experience next year, but we shall see!

My mom's English is limited and requested Dr. Abdul-Rahman call me whenever important information needs to be relayed. Dr. Abdul-Rahman has always called me personally to update me on my mom's progress after every important visit (with her consent of course) and has always been patient in answering all of my questions and concerns. This is truly a luxury nowadays as I can never get a hold of my own doctor and can only communicate information through her receptionist and sometimes NP. My mom had an issue a few years where she needed repeat imaging but her PCP misread her chart and told her she did not need it. I called Dr. Rahman and she immediately answered her phone and offered to send the script for the imaging if we cannot work it out with the PCP. I'm so appreciative of her time and patience. I really wished she could be my doctor but unfortunately she is not covered under my insurance. I highly recommend her!

IUD insertion experience, no insurance: I had a flawless experience from start to finish. First, there were two volunteers in front of the door who ushered me inside. A protester was outside and one of the volunteers put her arms around me and swept me inside so kindly and quickly to avoid him. The service at the desk was excellent -- I did not need to provide any paperwork to prove my income or household size -- I simply wrote down my monthly income and living expenses on a piece of paper and passed it back to the employee with no questions asked. I paid without insurance and personally qualified for about 90% off the standard charge. The office, bathroom, waiting room, and examination rooms were all very clean, bright, and pleasant. I spent no time at all in the waiting room -- I was called to be seen as soon as I collected my urine sample. The bathroom was a large, single gender-neutral bathroom and I was able to put my urine sample in a box right there in the bathroom. The nurse that inserted my IUD was wonderful, kind, and comforting. She gave me all the information I needed and answered all of my questions. She talked me through everything that would happen during the procedure ahead of time and again as each step was happening. She also showed me all of the tools she used. The insertion took less than 10 minutes and was 99% pain-free (briefly felt like period cramps.) I was given ibuprofen and cervical numbing at no extra charge. I was given privacy and was able to leave the room at my leisure once it was over -- I was invited to take my time to stay and rest if needed. I was given a water bottle and pads at no cost. I did not have to check out when I left. The volunteers at the door greeted me on my way out, and once again shielded me from the protesters. A woman walked with me all the way to the end of the block. (I gave her a hug -- she was an angel.) I was blown away by how easy my experience was and how kind the employees and volunteers were. I will be donating to Planned Parenthood for the rest of my life. I am so grateful for their services. Access to this birth control has the potential to prevent an abortion or a birth that I cannot afford.
