Giant store, plenty of good native American-y stuff to look at and buy, and fair prices. They have gems, books, hats, knives, clothing, beads, jewelry, candles, scented oils, knick knacks and more. Lots of crafty stuff. Super friendly staff too. It's a little hard to find, which is why i was moved to write this review- they have a giant sign out front but the part where the writing goes is blown out! So look for a big beige building with log-cabin awnings (and just past it, a giant buffalo sculpture) Pro tip- right behind the store is a beautiful pond, so take a picture in your new feathered headdress and pro tip 2- be on your best driving behavior if you drive through St. Elmo- my california plates and long hair got attention from the local sheriff who tried to follow me through town. Lucky, Driftstone Pueblo is right by the freeway, so this likely won't be an issue for you. Enjoy! read more

Very cool store. Lots and lots of Native American art and crafts. Some actually made by Native Americans most not. A friend sent me photos of the Day of the Dead stuff they had so I had to check it out. Some items had astronomical prices where other items were super cheap. Got a carved stone frog for $2.50 and a few other items. They have al kinds of crystals and stones. Lots of jewelry making items. Tons of home decor. If you are into south western this is the place to go. read more

Driftstone Pueblo has the BEST selection of crystal stones & minerals, plus countless other treasures. I love the upstairs area where you can find authentic Indigenous art, too. The customer service is always incredible (thanks, Jill!) and if you're a wholesale buyer, Driftstone Pueblo is hands down the most organized and efficient company you can work with. Don't pass the St. Elmo exit by or you will miss the plethora of crystals they carry and the knowledge of crystals the staff has to offer. Their powerful energy practically pulls you down the offramp. Leather pelts, beads, to die for leather jackets. Love them all Did I mention I'm raw vegan. I often pass by this store and St. Elmo on my way to and from my grandparent's place. I don't remember when we first pulled into the Driftstone, but now my family expects me to pester them about stopping again every time we pass by the area. For one, it is a good place to rest and stretch your legs after being on the road for awhile. There's a bathroom to use, there's a Mc Donalds a stones throw away if you're hungry, and a lot of the items are fairly priced and make good souvenirs/gifts. My favorite thing about this place does have to be the selection of fur and animal trinkets. I might have a small obsession with fox tails and rabbit pelts, I always leave this place with one or the other. There is a really amazing selection of not just beautiful jewelry, but crystals as well. The staff are also very friendly, and the store is organized and easy to navigate. All in all, if you're en route to or from St. Louis and need to look at something else that isn't highway for a bit, be sure to drop by this place and give it a look. American Indian Crafts, we purchased lots of souvenirs. Really reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff. Clean restrooms. Just off the interstate, so it's nice and convenient. Should stop if you get the chance. read more

I stopped at this store on my way driving back from St Louis last year. My sister and I kept seeing signs for it on the highway, but then we decided we'd rather just get home. A mile and half past it I had to just say "um, I kind of regret not stopping at that store" to which my sister responded with "me too!" and we turned around. Women. We pulled up to the store, which was pretty large in size and was being renovated at the time or something because their were a handful of guys working on the place. No areas inside were closed though. Inside there was tons of stuff. The advertisements on the road side mostly boasted Native American jewelry and things like that but it had lots of other stuff as well like hand woven baskets that were very nice (and expensive) and hand crafted figures (expensive) and statues(expensive) and blankets(expensive). I don't mind paying more money for nice things but how do I know they are all legit handmade? I am a skeptic about things like this in souvenir shops. Lots of books and little kid souvenir type things as well. We walked around the place for at least an hour. They strayed away from the Native American theme only slightly, with weird cowboy souvenirs and the random little kid junk. But it still felt like a kitschy souvenir shop more than a cool Native American jewelry store that was being advertised. Regardless, my sister and I both ended up buying stuff for the family, our boyfriends, and of course, ourselves. It is a cool shop to stop at if you just so happen to pass it by. Tons of stuff inside, two floors, stuff for kids to make you buy them...a nice little roadside stop. I was glad we stopped, but wasn't overly impressed. read more

I was searching for Native American teas and this was my place to go to. All the way from St Louis me and my brother decided to go for a drive to see this store and boy was i glad we did.Customer service was great and ladies took their time to explain each product which helped me choose teas i needed. Loved this store! I could shop for hours. If you're against fur, don't go to an INDIAN CULTURE store. The staff was friendly and helped me find a few specific items I was having a hard time finding. One worker told us more about a few rocks we were looking over and gave us (paper) information about the things we bought. I recommend stopping here for sure! And don't buy your salt lamps at a mall or store, come here for a REAL salt lamp. read more

The store is really big, and they have a beautiful collection of jewelry and some cool loose leaf tea! I gave them 3 stars because, though they have a large collection, only a small portion was actually authentic. Purses and shoes were made in china and Pakistan. I would have loved to see more authentic stuff, but the pottery section so really nice. I especially liked the horse hair pottery. read more

Maybe its just me, but the amount of carcasses in this place is atrocious. Im no vegetarian, im quite the meat eater. BUT there was way too many animal skins. They had coyote and bobcat FACES!!! Who sells faces?!?! They had a whole pheasant! The head included! They had hooks full of skunks, racoons, some kind of weasel, coyote, fox, and a huge buffalo skin. A bit of overkill. Literally. The jewelry was pretty, but way too over priced! There was a shelf of stones ranging from 75 cents to $6!!! Would have bought a lot more stuff if it wasnt so expensive! If you have money to blow, i recommend this place because it DOES have nice stuff, despite the price tags. If you ever wanted enough real animal fur to make a coat or two, or twenty, this is your place! read more

The staff at this store are the most amazing individuals and have restored my faith in humanity! Plus they have crazy cheap bottled water. My wife and I were on a road trip and we stopped at this store to check out the buffalo, and tipi, and to do a little shopping. When we went back out to the car, it wouldn't start. The employee behind the counter not only began calling every garage in the phone book to see if anyone was still open (this, of course happened at 5:45pm) but also had her mechanically inclined son come out to take a look at it. Another employee tried to help by offering a jump, but that wasn't the problem. No matter, everyone there did everything they could to help us even though they really didn't have to. The store is huge and has a ton of stuff and it all seemed very reasonably priced, especially the bottled water, but what will make me stop there if I ever find my self on the way to St. Louis again is the way that everyone who worked there treated us when we were down. I have shopped there regularly if not frequently for the past ten years or so. Never a problem when I purchased jewelry, rocks, clothing. But I purchased a pot in 2010 (still have receipt) and recently discovered the finish is falling off, revealing chalky plaster underneath. When I humbly asked for an exchange of some sort, I was told they could do nothing for me. Nothing. It has taught me to never again pay cash, but to use American Express because they put the customer first. I certainly didn't 'keep them in business' but even what little I know about 'customer service' involves more than they did. NMAI is helping me find a way to repair it. I will not shop there again or bring visiting friends or relatives there as I have done in the past. read more
