So, I relied on the knowledgeable staff there to help me find one that was more palatable for her and another that would pair well with our dinner. Oh! They were so helpful. They do a great job offering singles, too, so you can try lots of different types. And beer actually isn't the majority of their foot space, so I have to imagine their wine selection is great, too. What made this one stand out to me though is that it had exactly what I was looking for. I had been searching for a specific rum all over CT now that not even total wine had (and they have everything) so I was pleasantly surprised when i found it. Even more so by how friendly the guy behind the counter was, he said if there was anything I ever wanted all I had to do was ask and he could get it for me, and that is exactly the type of customer service you can expect at this place. The layout itself is really nice, very well kept and clean, if you need cash theres an atm, and theres a bag policy too so make sure not to bring in a big bag unless you want to leave it at the counter. There's also a website and app for added convenience, and they host events sometimes too. Truly a one stop shop for all your liquor needs, specialty or otherwise.

Highlands…read morePackage store (and Subway) are located right at a light, so getting in and out can be a matter of luck and timing. Despite that, there seems to be a pretty good turnover of cars at the package store. They seem to be regulars - they get out of the car, go into the store, and come out within minutes with a purchase. If you're new or a guest to this particular store, I was actually very impressed with their level of selection and price points. They have a lot of liquor, so plenty of variety and a good chance of finding something new. The wine is priced from $10 to much more "fancy" prices. It's definitely fun to poke around here! I suppose just stay out of the locals ways.
