I refuse to use the women's locker room or pool shower. The one thing I can say in the almost year I've been stuck at this at this horrifying if you want to call it a workout facility is at least they changed the grumpy lady at the front desk. The 2 ladies and 1 gentleman that seem to always check me in are nice and always a good time. My main reason for signing up was the beautiful pool but after watching men from the steam / sauna plunging in to it, sweaty and making the water smell foul I gave up. The rest of the equipment is rusty and never calibrated correctly, treadmills always out of order, no TV's, no music. What you can hear is all the members standing around talking or them taking phone calls while expecting you to save their machines. Absolutely no gym etiquette, only signs everywhere that mean and do nothing. This is New Orleans! Who reads any signs or cares what they mean?!

Where to start with World's End? Is it a park? Is it abandoned public property? Is it private…read moreproperty? Who knows and frankly I don't think anyone really cares. This little patch of land sits along the Mississippi River and the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, better known as the Industrial Canal. This area offers up excellent views of the City of New Orleans and some front row seats to the river boats passing by. Area has been pup friendly but due to its quite yet semi sketchy nature a leash is recommended. There are a few abandoned buildings nearby complete with mattresses, broken glass, and plenty of drug paraphernalia. Watch your step. Near the end of the land it drops down beyond the levee the a naturally made sandy area I hesitate to call a beach. You can usually find some campers set up in this area but typically they keep to themselves. Overall this little hidden gem is a decent little retreat without going outside the city. Feel free to bring a folding chair, blanket, and some suds for some r&r.

Landry's Seafood House remains one of my personal favorites, offering great food paired with some of the best waterfront views in the city. Whether you want to slow-cruise in your exotic car, take a peaceful walk along the water, or sit back and watch the boats sail by while reading a great book, the lakefront gives you space to do it all. Bike rides, jogs, family gatherings, or simply sitting still and letting the breeze reset your mind -- there's plenty to do here that requires absolutely nothing at all. The beauty of the lakefront is that no two visits feel the same. You can make it a multi-day experience and walk away with completely different memories each time depending on your mood. Some days it's music and laughter. Other days it's quiet reflection and sunsets. Even after my visit, I peeked in the app to see some WODs and you're guaranteed to get the workout you need here, for sure. A special shoutout to Coach Ben for being welcoming, accommodating, and providing some much needed motivation when my burpees hit a roux wall! I ended up going on a Friday and to my surprise, it wasn't terribly overpacked. However, I did get there quite early just as they opened. I was disappointment that I was not allowed to have a lounge chair, I was only allowed to have a couch spot that was further from the pool. Other than that, I loved the decor, the drinks and apps. I appreciated that they offered free available water and clean restrooms. They even supplied nice towels so you don't need to bring one if you're on a day pass. It also had a beautiful rooftop view. I'd definitely go back.

My son confidentially marched in and was balling his eyes out in about 45 seconds lol. The coach was very comforting and tried to re-focus him several times. He would respond, but the tears wouldn't stop. The coaches continued to be alert to all of the children and they followed along to a routine where everyone waited in line and had a turn. I was impressed how engaging the staff was with the kids (especially because most of them are young). The gym seems organized and it was clean.

Over the past eight months, I have spent time at the barn almost daily after being offered the opportunity to lease a beautiful horse, with all the support I needed to learn, build confidence, and feel safe. One of the things I appreciate most is the lease program. It has been very affordable and has given me opportunities I never imagined having, especially with an American Saddlebred. I have loved getting to know this beautiful breed and look forward to continuing my journey as a rider. The horses receive exceptional care, and it shows. Everyone at the barn is welcoming, helpful, and genuinely invested in creating a positive experience for both horses and riders. I've also enjoyed the trail rides. The horses are calm and dependable, and riding through the park is peaceful and beautiful. Whether you're new to horses or returning to riding later in life as I did, Cascade is a wonderful place to learn, grow, and be part of a supportive equestrian community. I highly recommend it. Barbe Smith has a huge heart and does a lot for the community. Her son and daughter in law are professional trainers and are excellent to learn from. I love my lessons with Wylie too - her 1-1 and group lessons are a blast!

The guide was terrible and completely disengaged from the start. He didn't say a word to us when we…read morestarted the trail and wasn't even paying attention. He was impatient and seemed like he didn't want to be there. If you don't have any experience riding horses, this is not the place for you. (You can check one of two boxes for any experience from riding 0-10 times or more than 10 times.) The horse, Oreo, only wanted to eat grass, and I struggled as soon as we got to the park. We were told both horses were calm. The guide barked instruction from the front of the other rider instead of coming over to explain. He just kept telling me to kick the horse harder and pull the reins harder. I would pull the reins up and the horse would immediately put his head back down to eat grass. I tried multiple times to get him away from the grassy area. I was afraid and felt unstable, so I grabbed the saddle and the guide fussed at me for grabbing the saddle. He repeated the same instructions over again, which weren't working, and eventually came over to me. I ended up being terrified on top of the horse. So, the guide called someone to come out and help. I didn't feel safe at that point and just asked to get down. I ended up walking back and will never get on another horse after this experience. There's no refunds. It was a total waste of time. The other workers didn't seem to believe me when I complained about the guide (big guy named Lane, I think) until the one other rider explained how disengaged the guide acted. My friend has done a bunch of trail rides and never experienced such bad service. Save your money and go do something else. This stable doesn't care about its riders.
