They seem unable to understand people work hard and sacrifice to pay for the services provided and then, with an unknown rationale, overtly resent the fact you could afford it. We did not reciprocate these ill feelings of mysterious origin, but, rather, withdrew from the situation. This transformed the joy and appreciation of the work performed into an experience that was unpleasant in the extreme.
