Wecame here for a sisters spa day! WOW is a word that needs to be used. From the moment you arrive on the grounds you are blown away with the beauty and views. Beautifully built hotel and spa surrounded by greenery, water and bridges. I don't play golf but the green looked fabulous with the sea in site it just makes for the most beautiful view. The spa we were greeted immediately walked through the schedule for the day given our robes and sanders and shown around. She was knowledgeable friendly and really helpful. The guy on the pool reception was so friendly and good fun on check in. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were perfect temperatures clean so relaxing big open windows edition you can still take in the gorgeous views while still in privacy. We then went for a coconut body wrap well oh my god it was the greatest treatment I have ever had! It literally works on you from your head to toes it was unreal! The relaxation room bender and after smelt amazing had relaxing loungers water, lemon water, sparkling water, fruits, chocolates, pastries and books all on offer. Along with hot towels and cucumber slices for your eyes. We finished the day in the breakfast room by the bar for afternoon tea. I would of liked more sandwiches than pastries but that's just me I like savoury over sweet! The presentation was beautiful the sandwiches and warm breads were served first with choice of many coffees and teas. DO NOT STAY HERE ! No adequate security for your stay! No security cameras in corridors, room doors appear to be easily compromised and the General Manager is the only " security " on site ! Absolutely astounding for a 5 star hotel !!! SHOCKING WOULD BE A BETTER WORD! Travelled 11 hours from California for a close family friend's daughter's wedding. The welcome at reception was inviting, the room was as advertised although sparse of the simple items you would expect in a 5 star hotel bathroom ( body lotion, simple vanity kits, cotton balls etc., ) Service in the bar/lounge the evening before the wedding was good and had a great atmosphere for pre-wedding drinks and fun! The breakfast the next morning was excellent ! We left our room at exactly 2.30pm the next day ( day of the wedding) to go downstairs to one of their function rooms for the service. Everything was set up beautifully and the wedding coordinator was incredible .... Everything went off without a hitch! Unbeknownst to us, however, someone must have been watching us leave our room because whilst we were in the closed off function room, someone was raiding our bedroom and stealing specific designer items that I had worn the night before in the hotel's bar/lounge! In addition to my designer handbag and scarf, all of my makeup, perfume, my designer prescription sunglasses, my husband's prescription sunglasses and reading glasses, and our personal personal hygiene items were gone ! All open suitcases were rummaged through and left disheveled!! Thankfully we had our passports, money, jewelry case and one lap top in the very small room safe. The total itemized list of stolen goods was just over US$5,000.00 The door to our room had been opened in some way other than our individual keys and the deadbolt lock had been put in place! Upon reporting this incident to the General Manager, and in his actual presence, the door still remained unlocked even though it was closed ... the explanation given was the mechanism needed new batteries !!! So, essentially, the entire hotel staff, patrons and guests could have just walked up to our room, tried the handle and walked in!!! The Gardai are now involved, this is being investigated as a criminal offense and we are were given " a gesture of goodwill " - quote-unquote, compensation for our two night stay but other than that it has been up to us to contact a representative from The Neville Hotel Group to find out what is going on. As a side note, when I advised the General Manager that we would be employing the services of a Solicitor and that I would be writing this review for all social media platforms, his reply was " are you threatening me " !!! I replied that it was not a threat, rather a statement of fact! At the end of the day, things are replaceable in this life .... What is NOT replaceable is that we missed out on 70% of this planned, much anticipated celebration of a young woman we have known since she was born ! Most of our wedding evening was spent with hotel management and the Gardai giving a report on what happened! All this time, we tried our very best NOT to let our friends or the wedding couple know what was happening ! It was extremely upsetting for us both and very traumatizing until we checked out the following day .... To add insult to injury, we were told we could not charge 2 cups of coffee and a cup of tea to our bill, " as it had been closed off " !! Whilst this is an ongoing investigation, my personal opinion is that the hotel most definitely are liable for this situation being allowed to happen in the first place. This is a well known " golf hotel and spa " and to think they are failing their customers with lack of even basic security for a 5 star status hotel is incomprehensible! We were in no way at fault for this traumatic experience but certainly did not get that definitive feeling from the General Manager the morning after! In closing, I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this hotel as an overnight stay, considering the present lack of basic security for its guests! It remains to be seen how we will be compensated for their failings but as I said prior, we will NEVER get the memories, or lack there of, from a wedding that was to be the highlight of our trip back home to Ireland. read more

We spent the last two nights of our Honeymoon here and our expectations were blown away! The amenities and hospitality are amazing. Upon arriving, we were greeted and offered warm face cloths and water. On our second day, my husband and I were hoping to take advantage of the golf course. The reception offered us clubs to borrow and we enjoyed an afternoon on the driving range. They also offer a DVD library at the reception where you can check out movies. In addition, they have a spa on site. Although appointments fill up quickly, if you reserve a spot ahead of time, you take advantage of this amenity as well. The inside is warm and welcoming. A fireplace greets you in the lobby with an open seating area. We arrived shortly after Halloween and the hotel was decorated beautifully in fall decor. On our first night, we opted to eat dinner at the resort restaurant and really enjoyed the ambiance! The next morning we wondered downstairs to the bar/restaurant and indulged in some traditional Irish coffee. To this day, it's the best Irish coffee I have ever had. Later in the day, we enjoyed lunch on the deck, and enjoyed the view of the golf course while we ate. Overall, the staff was incredibly hospitable and the amenities were on par. We stayed here for two nights and couldn't be more pleased. The grounds, the rooms, the staff - all were exceptionally nice. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and furnished very nice. We had the breakfast buffet and there were many selections and the quality of the food was top-notch. We also dined in the bar and enjoyed the food and drinks very much. I wish we would have had more time to spend at this beautiful resort! I would definitely stay here again. We stayed from Monday to Wednesday in November 2017. Reception was good. Very well informed about what was available to us as guests. Also served warm drink and warm cloths by receptionist. Helped with bags to room and parking car! Room was spacious double room with average size bathroom. Shower was really good. Loads of tv channels and also a DVD library at reception that u can help yourself too. Modern & old movies. Had Food in bar first night it was good. Place decorated for Christmas so hung out in front of open fire for few drinks. Second day we went on the hotel resort walking trail. It was 3km on path across their lands skirting the famous Druids Glen golf course you end up at the golf club - Woodstock House. From here we had look around house and had lunch in bar overlooking the golf course and 1st tee. We skipped the offer of resort mini bus back and retraced our route back loads of wildlife. Keep an eye for squirrels near the fairy trail. That evening we went to Health Centre and made good use of pool, jacuzzi etc. Following that we indulged in the Spa. I had the lime and ginger scrub and himself had a massage. Both thoroughly enjoyed same. Ate in restaurant that night. I had crab starter. Yummy! John had salmon starter. Mains we both had steaks. All good and the dessert was chocolate bombs wow!!fab! Our last day we spent on Druids Heath golf course. What a way to finish a great few days. Other things to note: Breakfast was good! Tea/coffee facilities in room! Free WiFi! Playground and playroom for kids! Kitchenette on 2nd floor to heat bottles etc. Turn down service! Staff all very friendly. Recommend. read more

My guy and I only stayed for 2 nights here, from 4.27.2012 to 4.29 but it was an absolutely amazing experience! We came for my dear friend, Isabella's wedding but stayed to travel through Ireland, the whole group of us, jolly drunks. I don't know how the hotel handled the entire wedding event but I didn't see any major disasters and they were perfectly lovely and professional to us and other guests. We did have a minor problem with the A/C cover coming off the wall at check-in but it was quickly resolved. We asked for a couple of appliances and they helped us. We needed currency exchange, they did that too. The entire property looks amazing, quite upscale, meticulously manicured lawns and landscaping, quite classy dining room, even though breakfast time was a dizzying and noisy affair because of all the wedding guests from all over the world. Our room looked fairly basic but clean and comfortable... and was booked with a group/event discount. It's a highly luxurious retreat (with spa and golf course and whatnot) in the middle of nowhere... I'm joking of course: it's about 6 km to the coast and 3.6 km to the closest - if small - urban center, Newtown Mt. Kennedy. The resort itself is located adjacent to a large park/golf course and that's exactly how I like it: peaceful and quiet. It really feels like an enchanted place where you can have it both ways: the convenience afforded by technology and deep immersion in nature. I'm very surprised I'm the first reviewer here. I had a lovely half day in Druids Glen last week with my mam and friend - the staff were lovely and it was a rainy horrible day - so nice to be all wrapped up inside being treated to nice things! If it wasn't for the staff and the weather and our general moods though, I'm gonna be honest, it would have been a lot more disappointing. So let me run you through the good and bad points - you can make your own minds up on it. Good stuff: - Staff - really friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable on skincare, and generally really really pleasant. Thanks guys for making the experience so much better. - Food - we had lunch in Thirteen - see my review on it - it was really excellent. - Location - less than an hour from Dublin, straight down the M50, simple to find, grand. Not so great stuff: - The facial I had was nice, though by no means the best I've ever had. The therapist definitely seemed to know her stuff, but I still felt that it was very short, not very deep cleansing, and my skin didn't feel majorly different afterwards. It was also pretty freezing in there so I had to have two towels put over me while I had the facial but I was still cold. - The spa and the pool area are on separate floors which isn't conducive to the relaxing spa experience you imagine in your head. It's really more like going to a beauty parlor for a facial / massage and then going to a leisure centre afterwards. - You never really get the feeling of luxury which is what you'd hope for on a spa day, right? It's all just a little bare and well.. bland. - The sauna was closed the day we were there which was a bit lame. There were loads of cleaning signs all over the place, and again it just gave the feeling that you'd popped down your local pool rather than any feeling of treating yourself. So, once your expectations are in line, I think you'll enjoy your time here. If they're not, you might be disappointed. read more

Was treated to a session at the Spa here very recently which included lunch. There were three of us together who all had different treatments and although fairly happy, none of us were completely satisfied. The treatment room where I had my therapy was very cold and while I did say this to the Therapist she apologised and said it was due to the very cold day, but I would have thought they should have sufficient heat to cater for all temperatures. The treatment area is upstairs and you have to go down stairs, which is a bit of a drag, to the pool area. We did use this area and while the steam room was working and the sauna was out of order. After showering, we dressed and had our lunch downstairs in the restaurant area off the main bar - the choice was pretty limited and the portions were on the small side, but we all enjoyed a salad of crabmeat (too much mayonnaise!) smoked salmon and mashed avocado, served with a tiny seaweed bun. However, as we were still feeling hungry, we decided to add to our costs and our waistlines by sharing Creme Brulee and Chocolate Brownie and cups of coffee all round. Booked a suite for a two night stay here. The property itself is nice and the facilities seem good. The service, attentiveness, capacity and ability of the restaurant(for dinner) and the open plan reception area (for coffee / afternoon tea) is disappointing. Everything required a long wait or having to go find someone that could serve us. All 6 times I was presented with a bill I didn't receive a pen and had to wander around looking for someone who could help. It's the small things. read more
