I took it to the store today and Robbie took an entire set of tuning pegs off a broken headstock and replaced the three tuners. Considering the circumstances, I applaud Robbie for his assistance and professionalism. Now, the bad. I called multiple times and sent an email hoping to resolve this problem without having to go to their physical store location (this is why I ordered online). Unable to speak with anyone, I felt it necessary to to go to their physical location. I asked Robbie if there was some way he could compensate me for my time and trouble. He declined saying that he could not authorize any compensation. My expectation would have been a free t-shirt, or maybe a set of strings, perhaps a few guitar picks, a discount on a future purchase - a small item of nominal value to their organization to keep a customer happy. Meh, it didn't happen. Probably won't do business here again. Oh, as an aside, this store is not open Saturday or Sunday...that makes it difficult for me to make it to this location during the week with traffic and where I work. I left work early to get to their location today.

Yes, there are two sides to every story, and Chris always thinks his is correct. I feel that Chris may be confusing me with someone else, as I did not have a follow up cordial conversation with him (at least not on his part). I was nothing but kind to Chris all along. Kids get sick. Chris just wanted "different" students and wanted to open up space for them. Nonetheless, my student DID in fact take a break, and then we found the most amazing piano teacher ever, right in our neighborhood. This teacher is well trained, in high demand and plays throughout the community and beyond. The lessons started off in-person, and have evolved into virtual lessons as a result of COVID-19. This format has made lessons very easy. No commute time! When we began, Chris evaluated my current skill level and recommended I start with a first level music book to work on the fundamentals. During the lessons, Chris provides meaningful feedback, shares resources on games that can help with intervals, memorizing notes, and other fundamentals. (I am in my 30's and enjoy the games just as much, or more, than somebody younger :)) This has all strengthened my skill-set over time. Chris also asks for my feedback on songs I am interested in learning. He has taught me some key elements of improv, as well as songs from the Beatles, the Styx, John Legend and other musicians. I feel so fortunate that a friend recommended 1 2 3 Rock to us! Kyle has been studying piano with Johnny there for over eight years. He has become such a wonderful player, and he has loved every minute of his lessons. I have to say he wouldn't have kept it up for nearly as long if we were with a teacher who didn't have the playfulness and good "kid sense" that Johnny has.
