At Mama Felafel, we watched a clumsy staff member tweezer very mean selections then top it with three tiny falafels. The bread was split in the process of filling it so the final presentation in a plastic basket was underwhelming and mean. I suggest that to survive and build a large loyal following, Mama Falafel management should make an effort - be generous with portions, learn to fill a pocket like a pro. The indifference of the staff and the poor presentation at Mama Felafel does not bode well for the survival of this place.

Its varied menu and super fresh food really stand out. Despite its small intimate size, there's a group table, outdoor seating and a window bench, as well as several two-seater tables. They really use the space well, with tasteful decorations brightening the walls, but minimal clutter, to maximise the seating area. When we arrived it was busy. Mr Hubbard strikes me as a place first on young local lips when they are looking for fresh food and a good catch up. Service is excellent, and while ordering is done at the till, this doesn't compromise the experience. Staff were attentive and friendly, taking time to chat with people both at the counter, and checking up on their experience throughout the meal. I ordered the avo feta smash (after debating about several really tasty sounding options, including the breakfast board, and the peanut butter Acai). The avocado and feta were well balanced, and the avocado was full of flavour, sweet and fresh. My egg was well poached, and the seeded sourdough was delicious - nicely contrasting the avocado. The little detail of added tamari seeds gave an extra element to the texture and the whole dish just really worked so well. One of the best avo smashes I've eaten. My latte was also enjoyable with a sweet flavour. My other half ordered the pancakes, which were fluffy and golden, portion size was generous, and again you could see the freshness of the fruit. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The menu is thoughtful, clever, and for the most part, health-conscious. Yet, Mr Hubbard don't sacrifice flavour or enjoyment to achieve this and despite me choosing something far more low sugar than I typically would, I left feeling incredibly satisfied, and wanting to go back for more.

For it was a summer's day we secured a seat for one by the door I had a great view of the lantern lit part of the restaurant towards the back. Skylights added glossiness to the tables. It's an area full of strips of restaurants, hair dressers and the likes. Towards town hall is two burger places and froyo where the younger people hang out. Here it's mainly parents dinning with a couple kids. The place was much nicer than I'd expected, just going by the name I expected something like pizza hut with booths. We ordered the seafood much to Andy's dismay, the most pricey pizza, hence best value - but only if you like pizza. Chargrilled seafood with red onion, oven roasted tomato, lemon and rocket $16 (Normally $24) A thin but doughy base with crispy but not too crispy crust. Lots of stringy mozzarella! Heavy on toppings without a cardboard like base, use the fork to support the front/nose of the slice. Chucks of salmon, prawns and mussels scattered generously with cherry tomatoes and red onion. There wasn't lemon though which would have taken it up to the next level. Serves 1 boy or 2 of me, with a side salad. I eat everything, but just a tiny bit of everything. By 6.45 the place was almost full! The crowd was 30 plus with the exception of one family. Service was very friendly though I think she was new as she didn't know the pizza offer I love being told the daily specials :P A great place for any occasion from dinner for one to the family or a date. The atmosphere was nice and I've never been to a place that felt like this one, in two words: Fancy Sofia. On Mondays and Tuesdays pizzas are $16 (normally they range from $17 margarita to $24 seafood) there's happy hour drink offers to accompany the pizzas. $16 for a gourmet/non chain seafood pizza served on a cheeseboard is a pretty good deal especially on the veranda with fairy lights. Minus potential smokers. I feel like they've ruined outdoor dinning. But there's the great indoors! Will we return? Sure, if we're after pizza and in the area.

I like both salads and dumplings so i gave them a go and since then i have become a regular. Their dumplings are not the usual cheap and fast type. They aim to be healthy and you dont get the oily feeing after. My favorite is the steamed wombok pork dumpling. The skin is light and the filling is very flavorsome. For salad i always get asian chicken. The chicken bites with the crunch from the cabbage and wombok is great balance to the dumplings
