They also have a downstairs bar too with seating that was also booked and packed. Nice variety of dishes, chef curated plates that were visually pleasing to the eye. The drinks while good and unique were carefully measured and extremely small for the price points. 3 cocktails and I didn't feel buzzed. I feel like Australia is very big on preventing intoxication. One of the few places that had knowledgeable staff and to my surprise actually nice and welcoming. I tried the BBQ Salmon wrapped in a banana leaf, braised beef curry, and a couple of drinks. Rather your traveling or a local who hasn't tried this place, it definitely should be on your radar. I was traveling from California and ChinChin was by far the most memorable dining experience I had.

Good menu with a lot of interesting options. Tried three different appetizers and the winner was the sashimi. Wonderful flavors with king fish. The butter chicken with curry was excellent. Just wish it came with some naan to soak up that wonderful sauce. Cocktails are creative and great. Just a bit measured and small, but I get it. Would dine here again and again.

The Thai Ice tea is a must try! don't be fooled by the simple name, this is not the usual Thai ice tea ( even though it claims to be) it came out served in a small bottle, together with a glass of ice cream , coconut meat and peanuts. Pour your milk tea in the glass and get ready to be amazed! The chicken wings entree is a plate of around 8 small size chicken wings. We also had the pork belly, mackarel curry, deep fried som tum and BBQ chicken. ALL of them were tasty and not one unsatisfied diner all night :) WE'll be back !!

I admit it, I was having some serious FOMO watching people check in here all the time. So on a…read morerecent cold and wet Melbourne night when I had a hankering for something hot, soupy and delicious I decided to give Fomo a crack at my all-time favourite Thai test: Tom Yum. Such a simple dish is sadly so easy to bugger up, and it seems that so many places don't bother to get their Thai soups right because they have all those strifrys and curries to wow people with. I'm pleased to say that Fomo did a mighty fine job. Their Tom Yum is loaded with seafood, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass and what I think was shredded coconut bits. It came served with it's own little candle heater underneath so it remained hot as I slurped my way through it, dipping my sticky rice in to the broth. At just under $17 it certainly wasn't the cheapest Tom Yum I've ever had, but it was satisfying and very tasty and coupled with some rice and a Thai iced milk tea, I got out of there for under $25. Next time I'm keen to return with a group of friends, as the menu here is just a little bit different with seven types of Som Tum (madness!) and all manner of grilled meats to choose from.
