My husband recently passed away at Dry Harbor. I am so grateful for the wonderful care and compassion both of us experienced. The entire staff on the 3rd floor were exceptional. From the doctors, supervisors, nurses, aides, and physical therapists to the dietician, laundry and cleaning people, they were so patient and I know sometimes it wasn't easy, i give my thanks. My 80 year old mother was admitted to Dry Harbor Rehabilitation with serious and crippling anemia from post-surgery internal bleeding. She was very weak and could not walk. From the time she arrived, there was someone to guide us through the process, from Galina the social worker, to Tamara, the wonderful 4th floor supervisor who is the heart and backbone of the unit. The nursing staff, and especially the techs, treat my mother with genuine kindness and patience. They always greet her with a smile and kind words, and go out of their way to keep her comfortable and calm. A special thanks to the physical therapists that work with my mother for their encouragement and commitment to her progress. They celebrate every small victory with her and somehow make difficult sessions feel hopeful. We've seen steady, remarkable improvement that we honestly didn't think possible. The building and decor are a bit dated but don't be put off by it -- the facility is clean, well-maintained, the food is good, and the culture is one of kindness, compassion and a willingness to help above all else. read more

Well my loved one has passed away after 6 years at Dry Harbor. I could not have asked for more from a facility. He was one of the first to get the COVID shot and never got COVID. He also never contracted anything while in Dry Harbor. He was always clean, happy and fed. When we had video visits he was well groomed and his hair was combed. I have nothing but praise for the care he received and recommend this nursing home. The only "bad" thing is the parking. There is no lot. Once you get past that, the rest is excellent. He was 96 and had dementia and was wheelchair bound - Dry Harbor was a wonderful place for him. And they were able to handle minor medical issues like UTIs and wound care. Very pleased read more

I was on rehab 4th floor since July 2022 and very happy. New residents get a bouquet of fresh flowers as well as an outfit to wear. Carlos the maintenance tech helped me connect my laptop computer. Mary E and Emily two of the CNAs were terrific to interact with as were most of staff. I got VERY QUICK email responses to my concerns from nurse supervisor Tamarra. So quick that when I called her phone she told me that she had already responded before I had time to look. I am now on long term 9th floor and very happy. I am being sent next to an assisted living place. Excellent WiFi in all spaces. Free phone calls to USA/Canada. Your own phone number for incoming calls. Be sure to check the number for incoming as in two rooms the number shown for incoming was wrong. Staff helped correct that. Free daily newspaper and TV in multiple languages. Daily sweep/mop Daily laundry [but sometimes clothes sent to other residents]. You can tell staff likes working here as some have been here more then twenty years. Tiffany, one of the physical therapists commutes from NJ to work here. They have a schedule of events on your room bulletin board that list things to do SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! The recreation director can give further details. Grace, my recreation director even helped me set up my new desktop computer that replaces the laptop that only had 2GB of memory. Dietary needs are taken care of. Renal meals for kidney patients. Diabetics will see that cookies come in sealed packs that say "sugar free". Kosher meals You can ask to make alternate choices to your menu. Dietitian and social worker terrific people to deal with. I am amazed at how accommodating they are. Very responsive to your needs/wishes. Before coming here I was given a list of fifty places to pick from. After reviews by myself and family on the WWW my final pick was Dry Harbor. One time I had to handwrite a list of doctors' appointments because they couldn't find the printed list previously turned in. After an operation for my broken hip, I was happy to be on a recovery path in Dry Harbor where I received wonderful care from their rehabilitation, nursing, and social work departments. After several stays in the hospital, my sister needed short-term rehabilitation, including physical therapy and skilled nursing care, before she could return home. Her family needed to find a facility that could help her regain strength in her arms and legs. We found the perfect place, which is Dry Harbor. Since the day she was admitted, we have been extremely pleased with the care she has received. Every staff member has been attentive to her needs, demonstrating genuine care and professionalism. We are so grateful for the excellent support she is receiving on her journey to recovery. The physical therapist, Frank, and his staff push my sister so she could achieve her goal of walking out of the rehab. The nursing supervisor, Tamara, listens to the family's concerns and ensures that my sister is getting the best care possible. I am very surprised to see the many negative reviews. I am currently a patient here on the 2nd floor rehab section for the 2nd time. The first time was to rehab after bypass surgery. I was here for 2 months and when I got here I couldn't was and was in very poor shape physically. The physical and occupational therapy I received was great and they got me walking again. Also, I can't speak highly enough about the nurses and especially the aides that attended to me. They were all amazing. I here now for the 2nd time due to heart failure. When I got here and went to the 2nd floor again everybody remembered and those that weren't there when I was admitted came into my room to say hello and ask how I was doing. I really wish there was an option for zero stars! As other reviews state please do NOT send your loved ones to this place! My father was admitted a week ago for PHYSICAL THERAPY and has not had one session. He states that they came to his room once and sat him up and that has been it. Tonight after speaking with him on the phone I felt something was off and decided to go there instead of waiting until tomorrow. When I got there he was lying in a bed without any guard rails, the room was filthy, the dressing on his wound was no longer on his body but instead on the floor. He had nothing to drink on his table his water was completely empty and he hadn't eaten anything other than some bread. When I went to the nurses station to find out what was happening the nurse Julia was disinterested in speaking with me, kept her head buried in her computer and was mumbling under her mask. I had to ask her several times to repeat herself and look at me when she was speaking. The nursing supervisor Hanna was even more disinterested in discussing my father's care and condition, she was more concerned about letting me know several times that she was not there last week because she was out sick which has no relevance. You've returned to work, you've cashed your paycheck then you should now be up to date on the patients on your floor. She finally went in to see my father and told me that he was "fine and that he was just congested " and that was why he was having trouble speaking. How she knew this without ever laying eyes on him and without examining him at all baffles me. I explained my concerns and that it was not congestion causing his speech problems that perhaps there was a more serious underlying reason for his decline since he was able to speak clearly when he first arrived. She just kept telling me that he was congested and that he would be fine. I'm sorry but I believe I would know how my own father normally speaks and how he has been declining the past few days. I asked her for the doctor to which I was told he was already gone for the day and we couldn't disturb him however he saw my father two days ago according to the notes in his chart and everything was "fine" when I questioned my father he said someone who he thought was the doctor came in and spent two minutes with him but never actually examined him though he had been complaining about not being able to swallow for several days now. Hannas answer was "then send him to the hospital because we can't help him"...... no, you don't want to help him, this facility is only there to use up patients insurance benefits without actually caring for them. When I questioned Hanna about the lack of PT she stated that they leave at 4pm and she has no contact with them. Again you are a "nursing supervisor " who has no clue what is going on with your patients care. I will give a huge thank you to Shereka the aid that came up to me to ask if I was OK and how she could help me and my father, she was the only one with any compassion towards the patients and the family and there was another nurse named Dorma who was helpful as well. Senior Care ambulance came to transport my father to the Emergency Room and the nurse Julia was flat out refusing to give them my father's most recent vitals which they need to know in order to safely transport him, they had to end up taking his BP themselves and actually did it correctly as Julia tried to take his BP earlier in the arm where he has a pic line! As I was packing up his things I noticed several items of clothing in the closet which had his name on them however they were not his clothes. The brand new clothes that he came in with were however missing and no one knew where they were, perhaps in the laundry which was another subject Hanna knew nothing about and told me to call social work because they would have an answer. I'm not sure why brand new never worn clothing straight out of the package would have been sent to the laundry but used clothing that was not his and were several sizes too big were in his closet. I was told by the social worker over the phone that it was "no big deal" that his belongings were missing.....um excuse me?! It's a huge deal!!!! As I stated the room was filthy, his bandages were on the floor, his wounds were not wrapped properly. The "clean" bed next to his had dirt on the sheet and holes in the sheet. There was a random sheet of plastic with duct tape thrown on the floor in the room as well which I have no clue what it's purpose was and I was too disgusted to ask as I was trying to get my father out of there as quickly as I could. This facility and the staff need to be investigated. Aside from the two helpful people on staff there was another male aid who unfortunately I did not get his name but he did help the ambulance drivers transfer my father from the bed to the stretcher. read more

Dry Harbor is due for make over. They provide decent physical therapy and the food isn't bad. However, the banter in the halls and elevators is very unprofessional and bothersome. Another thing is that they continue to lose my mothers clothes. My mother was wearing someone else's clothes, in her armoire there were articles of clothes labeled with her name that were not hers. When I complained everyone passed the buck they even suggested that I go to the laundry room and look for them. read more

I caution future visitors to allow loved ones into this facility. The staff are not honest, transparent, or professional. They will happily not assist you with an update of your loved one. Ways they will do so is either by not answering your calls for long periods of time or just speaking in circles with you. By the way, this number 718 947 4300 just takes you to a receptionist with an attitude. Don't fall for the response from the owner on Yelp (Chelsea) with that number because I personally know. I simply just copied and pasted, called, and it's pretty much another number for the facility. Its a waste of time. I'm just going to end the post with this, people will unfortunately continue taking their loved ones here. I just want this facility to do better in the future. A lot better. My sister-in-law has been at the Dry Harbor Nursing Home for 6 months. She first went into the Rehabilitation Center. She had a crack in her hip and because of her age & medical condition, an operation could not be performed. For three months, she was slowly rehabilited that she was free of pain & could walk on her leg. The Dry Harbor Rehab was very clean and the Physical Therapists were excellent. Because of no family nearby, she went into the Dry Harbor Nursing Home where she is receiving excellent care and she was there during the Covid-19 pandemic which affected NYC and its boroughs tremendously. The hotpot of the pandemic in New York State was New York City and it boroughs. My sister-in-law did not get the virus and for that her family is extremely thankful for the nurses and aides who did a fantastic job of keeping their clients healthy and safe! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This rehabilitation/nursing center is terrible. If you don't want your loved ones dead or don't want anything to happen to them DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!!!!! I repeat DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. The workers in this place deserves to be in jail the way the treat their residents. They put my dad on a anti depressant with any consent, but that's not all! My dad was here for rehab after having a stroke. They would lie and say they were doing rehab with him and they actually just had him in a wheel chair all day. THERES MORE!...... the doctors placed a loop recorder in my dads chest to monitor his heart, they also gave him a device that needed to be plugged in his room at ALL TIMES!!! And Dry Harbor was completely aware of that, however I would call them and check on him everyday and I'll ask about the device they said they can't find it in his bag along with all his belongings. Clearly they don't take peoples health seriously at all. For them to totally disregard my dads loop recorder tracking device, they basically said "f*ck his health we can careless" My dad suffered from 3 strokes so he's always at risk for another one and they did not care at all. They also ignored my dads eye. The hospital, my family and I stated a thousand times that his eye needs to be covered and they clearly didn't care. My dad ended up going to NYPRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL where they diagnosed him with a "Corneal scratch" in his left eye. The stated that the rehab completely ignored his eye and told my family and I to not send him back there. I'm telling you please do not send a loved one here. Actually don't send anyone here. Doctors suck, receptionist sucks, nurses definitely suck, social workers just want to get paid, lady in charge sucks. My sister threatened them that if they don't find the device that we will get a lawyer involved. After months of saying they can't find it or they never received it. They finally found his device *3 months later* along with all his personal belongings we sent him. Only because we decided to get a lawyer involved. They got the wrong family. I don't play about my dad. Another thing is they had my father in someone else's clothes his whole stay, when we sent him with his own clothes. PLEASE PEOPLE JUST BE AWARE. Do your research before choosing a rehab and nursing center. Look up their Facebook pages and check for reviews if you can't comment or post underneath....BE AWARE something is fishy. Just like Dry Harbor go on their Facebook page you can't even write a review at all. Oh yes and one more thing they will definitely LIE and try to cover their tracks so they won't have any law suits, but again they have the WRONG FAMILY!!! read more

If I could give "Zero stars", I would. If you prefer skilled services for your loved one to be totally inept, then definitely send them here. Not only did my father in law come out in much much worse condition after a three month rehab visit, his entire stay there was a nightmare. His water intake was restricted, his meal service wasn't adequate and he received no rehab. Staff and doctors didn't respond to messages and voicemails; it wasn't until a week before he was due to return home that we had learned rehab services were (STILL!) unavailable "due to COVID." He asked for the vaccine multiple times when he was admitted but was told it wasn't available. He tested positive for COVID ten days into his stay. When he came home, they dropped him off on the door step with the wrong release discharge papers and gave us someone else's with their personal identification information. The only person who returned our calls said they couldn't find his papers so now we're out of luck. My family and I are absolutely horrified at the condition my FIL returned home to us in. When he left home, he could walk. Now he can't even lift his legs. read more

My 87 year old mother has dementia. This is the first time she's been anywhere but home. We (sister and I) searched and found Dry Harbor within walking distance from both our homes. I cant begin to say how much I appreciate the staff here. I have found them to be caring even during these trying times. We are checked every time we arrive before we are allowed up to visit upstairs (covid rapid test). I can always stop by the nursing station to ask how her day has been and they will let me know. I always find her in good spirits. I know the nurses have engaged with her even if she can't remember. Like the new bead bracelet she made (with help) and has been wearing. Although visiting hours have been pushed back due to covid. I can always drop in anytime to be with my mom. Building seems a bit worn but the staff are vibrant. read more

Let me tell you, I've been in quite a few nursing homes. Through my church, and in doing ministry, I've come to be familiar with spots like this. I knew a young gentleman that was placed here for a while. He was subsequently moved out of Dry Harbor Nursing Home to another nursing home in the College Point area of Queens. He complained about it, and really missed the service and attentiveness of Dry Harbor Nursing Home. I've never stayed here but have visited on many occasions. If I were placed in a nursing home in Queens, this would be my preference based upon what residents have told me. From what I understand, this is the only nursing home in the region. read more

My grandmother has been a resident here for over a month now until we get her home ready for her to come back. This place is awful. Everything about it is terrible. -Dirty... when you come visit they will show the second floor, which is the tidiest. Take a ride up to the 8-10th floors, you'll see with your own eyes what the management here is trying to pass off as a residence. -Inattentive... the staff that works here full time is pretty decent, mostly because they are trying to do the best they can with the conditions they are working in, but wait until you get a temp, which is generally the weekend and evenings. They are completely inexperienced and heartless. I understand they do not get compensated well but their job does have a tremendous amount of responsibility and they need to take that into consideration too. The entire facility is tremendously understaffed, and it's dangerous. There was another time when a male RN didn't know that my grandmother cannot swallow ENTIRE PILLS or she will ASPHYXIATE. THESE ARE MISTAKES THAT WILL RESULT IN FATAL CONSEQUENCES. Also diapers for residents are not changed frequently due to inadequate staffing. -Food... I'm not referring to taste, but some residents have special dietary needs such as puree/minced/chopped diets. They frequently mixed this up and brought my grandmother meals which would of made her choke and potentially killed her. The only reason I know this for a fact is that one of her family members has always caught it since we are constantly here due to the fact that we are terrified to leave her alone. -Unprofessional... security is a joke, management is MIA to address complaints, and when they are they not courteous at all. Let's start with greeting visitors and residents when they roam the hallways, a simple hello, or something. BTW someone stole our Puff's tissues that we brought because the ones that the facility provides are terrible. Only time we heard from management was when they wanted us to pay the bill. -ETC... let's see, my grandmother's wheel chair has a broken brake that I've addressed with nurses about a month ago, they have a roach problem, the basement has some serious mold/flood damage (make sure you get to see the occupational therapy room in the basement, not the 1st floor they show to you when you visit and print pictures of in their advertisements). Private rooms do not have a private bathroom (WTF?) That being said, the Physical therapy and Occupational therapy people are good, and there are plenty of good Nurses and even temps who try. read more

My father was admitted after the hospital here and spent nearly a month and a half. I do have to say that given the COVID times they have cooperated very professionally and well. I am impressed with the services and the patience that they have had with my father. I do want to say that working in a health care facility is not as easy as most people think and therefore we all need to be mindful with the work that they do. As someone who works in healthcare I understand the stress that undergoes taking care of patients. Dry Harbor social workers as well as the nurses did a good job and I would like to thank them for everything. If your looking to have some one stay here and end there life fast and painful that you don't care well then, this is the place. My mom fell off the bed numerous of times as I told them day 1 she was a fall risk over and over and twice a day I would get calls they found her on the floor but never once told me she hit her head that started her bleeding in her brain again and idiots thought she was sleeping for 4 days and again I begged them to get a jay scan but doctors there refused and told nurses she was sleeping from the mess but she was in a coma and lucky they finally listened to me to send her to the hospital that she requires 6 brain surgeries in less then 8 days from the injuries she got from the falls at this place. There bed monitors alarm don't work and have broken units placed I guess for show and numerous times I asked for one form my mother that works but was told that's all they have. Aides are rude and some even big attitudes that won't do anything unless there are given orders by the invisible doctor they claim they have that I never seen as I asked over and over to meet with him or anyone in charge and never did. At night is when you should go visit after 11pm and see for yourself that's it's only one nurse handling over 30/50 beds and all you hear is beeps from patients requesting help and no one around but empty floor and one nurse that is there and your lucky to find her . Way under staffed and just horrible care and good is worse as dog food would probably taste better then what they give these people to eat and no wonder most are there longer and sick from not only the care but the food is something I wouldn't give my dogs or cats to eat or any human . Security ? Ha! You can just walk in and go to any room any time and no matter how late u want . No questions asked and most of my visits during the days there was no one at front but a lady that is a resident in a wheel chair that didn't work there watching the front entrance . Place is horrible and not secured plus I'm sure many good violations. Rehab room is in basement and I seen laundry mats that look better then there rehab unit down stairs . My father was just transfered here from NYU Medical Center he had an operation on his back. He came here at 2pm and his last pain medication was at 10am which has to be given to him every 3hrs it is now 730pm and he hasnt even received his antibiotics and hes in so much pain its ridiculous. We have spoken to 6 different people and they all say yeah yeah we'll have your medication and they only gave him tylenol which did not work what so ever and still waiting on all his medication! The food is disgusting, the service is terrible he asked for a urinal because of the pain is so bad he cannot get up and it took them 5hrs to get it for him he almost peed himself. This is so upsetting i want him moved, hopefully tomorrow we could try to get him moved. If you have a family member please do not let them come here, the nurse looks drugged. My dad had a stroke and later he fell breaking his neck and back we checked out most of the nursing homes in the Queen's area and by far the service level in Dry Harbor was the best from the initial intake to the nursing as well as the physical therapy. the food was great and also the daily attention by everyone for my dad was just unbelievable but don't take my word for it. my mom was a nurse for 45 years and she said they were doing a fantastic job I would recommend anybody looking for a nursing home for either your elderly parents or yourself to check out Dry Harbor I do think it's the best nursing home experience that my dad has had and he's been to quite a few let me know if you need any additional information about Dry Harbor Nursing I'll be glad to be help to you. read more

When my grandmother was sick and at the end of her life, she spent a couple of months at this nursing home. I spent an entire summer in this place, spending as much time as I could with her until she passed. Everyone was very friendly and took care of her. She never complained. My uncle was with me most of the time and I know that he tipped everyone around my grandmother often. They made the latter part of her life much more comfortable. I thank them for this. read more

They made grave errors in her care and have LIED AND HIDDEN medical information from us and have the audacity to be rude and nasty in the process! If you place your loved one here, expect to stay day and night if possible, and be very involved and very vigilant! Unfortunately, in our experience, "good" nursing homes are difficult to come by. But the attitudes and lack of respect and empathy of some of the staff here propelled my feelings about this place to depths of rage I have never experienced in my life! My heart aches for all those that have no one to speak or fight for them in heir most vulnerable state. They took care of my family member when she really needed it. At times like this, you panic, you're scared, you're not sure what to think and a lot of thoughts are going through your head. Honestly I didn't know what to expect. But they took care of it. They took care of everything. I was relieved and pleased and so grateful to everything they did. Really it was a stressful time that was made a lot more manageable because of their great care and service. The rooms are nice, the food is good and the staff are friendly. At the end of the day, not sure what else you could ask for. Was the situation good? No. But having them there for us to help us through it made it far better. Very grateful. read more

am writing this review on behalf of a beloved family of mine that their loved one was placed in Dry Harbor's care to nurse him back to health after an amputation. Instead of being nursed back to health, he was sent home from the hospital to his home on hospice. This was due to the neglect of this horrific nursing home. I saw the condition he was in before he was sent to Dry Harbor to get rehabilitated -- he was alert and doing pretty good. He is now home with round the clock care by his loved ones. His health has deteriorated to a point where he is unrecognizable. His medical, physical and mental status in horrific deterioration due to Dry Harbor's lack of skilled staff. In 2013 my mother went to Dry Harbor Rehab after her stroke. The physical therapists and occupational therapists did a great job. The staff on her floor were nice, although they were assigned too many patients per employee. Patients could sit in the meal room for long periods, or until it was their turn for a shower and bed. Patients were not allowed to leave their wheelchair, because the staff was stretched too thin. This year my father needed rehab after surgery. In six-month Dry Harbor has gotten worse. A patient with dementia cursed at the nurse because she wouldn't let him leave the lunch-room (because his nurse wasn't ready for him). The nurse who he cursed slapped him on the face (medium strength), then she turned to me and smiled. Other staff saw her, and nobody seemed to be upset by her actions except me. Now if II were to hear from a dementia patient says - The nurse slapped me - I'll think twice about that. A woman with ONLY a 4-year college degree was passing herself off as a Social Worker - no graduate degree, no licence! This woman FORGOT to add our names for a conference call to the intake meeting. This same woman did the discharge - she couldn't explain anything about the paperwork she handed me - she's wasn't a medical professional. She told me that my father needed blood-work in three days because "something" wasn't right with his blood levels. HOW DOES THIS PLACE LEAVE UN-PROFESSIONALS DISCUSSING MEDICAL WITH THE FAMILY?? Then after my father came out of the hospital we found out he came down with pneumonia - from DRY HARBOR!!! He's still in the hospital trying to to get over the pneumonia. I just spoke with the Hospital Social Worker and was told he'll need a Rehab center to help him because of his weaken state he's unsteady on his feet. September 17, 2015 I was a resident at Dry Harbor as noted above. The facility was well beyond my expectations. It became my home away from home, but better. I was made to feel well taken care of and looked over by your staff of professional people who seemed dedicated to people such as myself recovering from surgery and who had a need to rehabilitate and rest. Treatment by the staff was well beyond expected. By the time of dismissal, I felt I gained an extended family. I was sad to leave them, especially the nursing staff on the fourth floor who oversaw a medical problem that developed. The floor aides were wonderful and would sit with me while they oversaw the day room. They were both doing their job and keeping me company to pass my time. The aides assigned to me daily were especially helpful and literally went out of their way to see that I was comfortable. The recreation staff constantly saw that I had activities to occupy. I think I even learned art skills. The transporters were always patient and cheery. The traveling entertainers were awesome. The staff at Physical and Occupational Therapy were outstanding. The people there worked with me to help me regain physical strength. But they were also there as a moral support. I could actually feel myself becoming stronger daily both in body and in spirit. Everyone on Dry Harbor's staff was well organized and worked cooperatively with each other making my days at the facility much more relaxed, and, therefore it enabled me to concentrate on recovery. They are truly well selected. Everyone was truly caring and seemed geared to their particular jobs at the facility. Re: August 16 Through September 6, 2015 My room at Dry Harbor was outstanding and kept clean. The TV and telephone was an additional bonus to me because I was enabled to keep a link with the outside world, particularly my friends and family. I therefore did not become target of a feeling of losing connection with others. I truly felt I was on a vacation. There was no need to worry about food as it seemed like gourmet meals were served. Portions were plentiful, and variety was the case. I never got bored with the meals as there was always something special served constantly. After having a triple bypass, my grandmother was admitted into Dry Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she spent a few months for rehab. She was treated with respect from all of the staff members. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond the assigned duties in order to make her feel at home and comfortable. Frank the therapist was outstanding, as well as Dr. Rappa. They always gave my grandmother their undivided attention whenever she had an appointment to see them, or even if she just needed to talk to them. It was because of them that my grandmother had a speedy recovery at Dry Harbor. Whenever it was time for therapy or a visit from the doctor, my grandmother was also eager because of the wonderful staff Dry Harbor has. When it came to the food, she was granted her requests as to what she wanted to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall, I would say that it was a great experience, and I thank Dry Harbor for assisting my grandmother after an extensive bypass. Dry Harbor is an excellent place to reside, and I continue to recommend this facility. read more

My mother was here for a few months before we took her home and cared for her ourselves. It was a horror! My mother couldn't speak or help herself due to a stroke and she was mostly ignored by the listless staff who were annoyed by even the slightest request. I saw roaches, dirty linen and unwashed patients. I once asked for a diaper change for my mom and was told she had had her "quota". If you want your loved one to be ignored , unfed and unwashed this is the place for it. read more

I am a resident of Dry Harbor rehab center and after reading the previous review it troubles me that someone could be so misguided. Firstly to make written comments against an unnamed nurse could be considered liable @ worst and unfortunate @ best. I have dealt with majority of the staff and have found them to be professional, compassionate and caring. Until they know your food preferences it's important that you are involved and make it clear what you enjoy to eat. The need for medication every 3 hours likely clouds your judgment. The nursing staff through the pharmacy along with your doctor have to order and obtain the proper medication which may be different than what you took @ the hospital. An extremely negative comment after a few days is unfair. I wasn't certain about my future when I entered Dry Harbor Rehab but soon learned that this marvelous staff will attend to all your needs if you let them. Instead of writing negative reviews concentrate on getting well. I am being sincere and wishing you the best but remember you were fortunate enough to obtain a bed and begin your recovery. read more

This place is your worst nightmare! It is dirty, the food is awful, and the staff is uncaring. My father was in this facility after having surgery on a broken hip. He was there four days before he was seen by a doctor, and only then after we threatened to move him out of there. The medical director is the most unprofessional doctor we have ever met. He screamed at my husband when he questioned why my father had not been seen by a doctor. When he finally did examine my father, he called him by the wrong name! The place is filthy. An aide peeled off a glove after cleaning my father's roommate and threw it on the floor. It remained there until a family member threw it away. The cleaning crew used very unsanitary methods of dealing with garbage. The food is awful. My father endured 8 days of cold eggs, over-spiced food, and over-cooked vegetables. The staff is lazy. When my father first arrived, they put a diaper on him, telling him they were "too busy" to help him out of bed to use the bathroom. And why would you give a diabetic a small cup of yougurt with 28 grams of sugar in it...just BEFORE checking his blood sugar level? My father had been managing his diabetes for over 30 years, but in this place his readings were above 350! I wouldn't board my dog here! read more
