For many of us, we never climb in there and the pictures clearly showed its condition. From there, Cory removed the old dirty plastic and debris left from the house's construction. He then leveled the ground by hand, so it would be uniform under the new plastic. He also cleaned the surface of the drainage pipes, tacked up loose insulation and wires, and inspected the ventilation vents. He installed the new plastic from the high side of the crawl space to the low end, and laid the seams so if any water was leaking in, it stayed under the plastic. The change was enormous, and the cost was very reasonable. Now the job is complete and we have a clean and dry crawl space. Job well done!

After receiving a quote, taking pictures for 2 hours and paying our deposit, we waited 3 1/2 weeks for our scheduled concrete lifting repair. During the initial consultation, we were assured the repair would not be a problem. However, when the two technicians arrived, they spent about 15 minutes assessing the situation before leaving, stating they could not complete the job. What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication afterward. We spent the next 12 hours trying to reach someone at the local branch to discuss the issue and find a resolution for this much-needed repair. Despite repeatedly requesting a phone call, no one ever contacted us. Instead, all communication was handled through text messages. We were eventually informed that a waiver would be required, something that was never discussed during the consultation. At that point, we requested a full refund of our deposit. In all my years, I have never experienced such poor communication and customer service from a company. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to proceed with caution when considering Groundworks in Belmont, NC.

Over the year we've lived in our new CLT house, we obtained 4 quotes to address drainage issues,…read moredescribed by the previous owner as a "little seepage with heavy rains" in the basement storage area, which turned out to be a "lot of seepage with moderate rains". Most of them suggested solutions that seemed to be wasted money, everything from blasting through the basement floor to create new drains, to replacing vapor barriers and sealing up the basement and crawl space, etc. Nick at Drain Designs Charlotte suggested instead a set of new drains to take downspout and runoff water away from the house to a back culvert. Made sense. Job completed a couple of weeks ago. After, we had a few light rains so the ground had some moisture a then a 2" steady rain - instead of water seeping in from all sides of the basement, there was a small trickle at one side. Then next day, around the corner with the trickel, I banked dirt against the house to slope away from the house towards the new drains Nick's team had installed. Next day we had a solid 1" of rain - a few drops entered at that corner. It's not perfect, but for an 85-year-old house, we're pretty darn pleased. We recommend Nick and Drain Designs.

They came back later to waterproof the outside of my house at the bottom of a slope, where a rain chain did not quite do as good of a job of shoveling away the water compared to a gutter system with a downspout. Their workmanship and professionalism was excellent. But the best part is that they continue to take such good care of me now even over a year later. I had an issue where I thought the electrical outlets to the sump and dehumidifier were not working today - big thanks to Scott for texting me back on a weekend and especially to Brandon for coming out within 24 hours on a Saturday to help me problem solve the issue. He showed up and was kind and not at all impatient. I didn't realize those electrical outlets had their own dedicated switchbox outside the house! It was an easy fix. We hired clear flow to complete a significant interior drainage system and waterproofing job in our basement. The project manager, was initially friendly and the quote was competitive. However We submitted our invoice promptly. Weeks went by with no payment. After multiple emails and phone calls with vague promises of "the check is in the mail" or "accounting is processing it," we have received nothing. This is not just a simple delay, it is a complete refusal to fulfill their financial obligation for services they authorized and that we successfully completed. I was wrong, I described the issue and they came out to do the structural work. My floor was sloping as I told them before, during work and after the work. They said they had done all they could do. I had to hire a structural engineer to inspect their work. They came back and made a change to the work they did do. However, the structural engineer discovered the real issue with the slope was something else. In summary, this company should not be doing structural work and I would not hire them to do structural work. I don't believe their error was out of ignorance of their expertise but a desire to make a buck regardless Additionally the communication was amateurish. One hand didn't know what the other was doing. They scheduled some work but didn't inform me they they'd scheduled it. one guy would tell me something and the other man hadn't been kept informed.
