This week a team (Seth G., Andrew P., and Marion B.) came and removed our old (pink) insulation and installed foam insulation on the walls of our crawlspace. I would not recommend using Groundworks in Belmont, North Carolina, for foundation or concrete repair services. After receiving a quote, taking pictures for 2 hours and paying our deposit, we waited 3 1/2 weeks for our scheduled concrete lifting repair. During the initial consultation, we were assured the repair would not be a problem. However, when the two technicians arrived, they spent about 15 minutes assessing the situation before leaving, stating they could not complete the job. What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication afterward. We spent the next 12 hours trying to reach someone at the local branch to discuss the issue and find a resolution for this much-needed repair. Despite repeatedly requesting a phone call, no one ever contacted us. Instead, all communication was handled through text messages. We were eventually informed that a waiver would be required, something that was never discussed during the consultation. At that point, we requested a full refund of our deposit. In all my years, I have never experienced such poor communication and customer service from a company. A Dry Pro team came out today and installed a "crawlspace drainage system". Jonathan the team leader, came to me first thing this morning with full specifications and scaled drawings of the project. We went over everything that was to be done and verified all the locations around the house. Edwin and Taylor the other team members got to work right away. Jonathan took beginning, unprocessed and completed photos and videos. The team cleaned up the worksite beautifully. While Taylor and Edwin finished loading the truck I went over the job and viewed the photos and videos Jonathan had taken. Beware using this company and the company that bought them. Groundworks. They will not honor the work and they will do a bad job and not tell you things were damaged. I found what damage they did (even though they kept saying they will let me know if anything got damaged and they will fix) they are thieves and liars. Do not use! One of the work crews that came to my home was headed by Blake, and all of them were very courteous and careful with all they did as they installed Helical piers to stop the foundation from sinking. Buyer Beware: I appreciate Dry Pro's customer service; Greg, Kelly, and John were courteous, BUT the timeline, perceived expertise of the team on-site, and quality of the work executed fall far below the standard I expected from an organization like Dry Pro. Issue One -- Workmanship Quality: The quality of the craftsmanship could be better, displaying a need for more attention to detail. Here are just a few examples: 1. Concrete knee wall: Dry Pro had to use a subcontractor to build a concrete knee wall for the basement gutter system, and we did not need to install that one. The walls were damaged beyond my reasonable understanding. They had to return twice because the wall was not poured correctly, and materials were left for us to clean up. During this time, my home was exposed to storms and water. All we could do was put towels down and run fans. (See Image Below) 2. AquaStop Aqua Grate: An AquaStop Aqua Grate was installed across the front walkway to send water away from the home. The installation team was supposed to bury and connect a discharge line to the grate, which was connected to a roof downspout. Not only was the line not connected, there was no line installed and buried, and the team capped the grate, which left the water nowhere to go but back into the house. As a company that provides waterproofing services, this should be embarrassing. UPDATE (12/26 -with Pictures - Downspout still backing into the house after "fixing" the blockage.) 3. SettleStop Poly Renewal - I understood that the concrete might crack. Dry Pro would not replace the concrete but repair the crack. That is fine, but like the grate, I was asked to sign off on work that was still incomplete (Pictures below.) The sidewalk cracked, but it was not brought to my attention, so while I understand it could have cracked within minutes of the team leaving if I had not called immediately, would I have been left with this crack again, allowing water to enter the area we were trying to dry out. Issue Two -- Project Timelines: Despite repeated assurances that the project would be completed on time, there were multiple delays, causing inconvenience and forcing us to alter our commitments. I officially was under contract with Dry Pro on June 17th and did not have a "resolution" until September. This seemed excessive for the size of the project. What hurt the most was that I had to use their financing option, which required me to pay for the project while they did the work. I don't have a problem with that if I was seeing progress, but seeing so many issues and still being on the hook for what I owe for this job makes me sick. Issue Three -- Communication: Customer service has excellent politeness, but there needed to be more clarity in communication from the team handling the project, leading to misunderstandings about my expectations and the final output. An example of this is that on the week of 8/11 and 8/18, it was confirmed that a team would be at my house on 8/25 to fix the walls and door frame from the concrete knee wall. No one showed up, and I called later in the afternoon on 8/25th, and it was explained that I was not on the schedule for the 25th. My project was off the schedule, and the office had no record that I needed that work to be completed. I know the waterproofing industry and understand that "things happen." Still, my experience was so bad that I felt sharing my story with the other "success" stories was important. I am not saying: "Don't work with Dry Pro." If anyone is considering Dry Pro, Do your due diligence. Learn about the solutions available to you, and before selecting anyone to handle your waterproofing or home foundation projects, speak to multiple companies. read more

I wanted to give an update to my review on DryPro Foundation. I did have the General Manager finally reach out to me and he made a visit to my home personally. He listened to my concerns about the entire process of why I was frustrated. He then gave a sincere and thoughtful apology and then educated me on why I didn't need my vapor barrier sealed to the crawlspace wall. He made some very good points and agreed that during the initial installation, I should've been given a proper explanation and he assured me that if anything were to arise in the future, that it would be handled. So I'm updating my previous review to 4 stars because I do believe the price I paid for the quality of work was fair and reasonable. The installation was done meticulously from start to finish and on time. I would hire DryPro again in the future if needed even though there was a failure to properly communicate. The company has been in business for a couple of decades and they stand by their work. Overall, a misunderstanding has been rectified and I feel relieved. read more

They are great getting to you but once you have the service expect a month wait after that scheduling any service

They overcharged me and after 5 years it looks as bad or worse than it did before I paid to get the work done. I've interviewed other companies and was told they could not believe how much I paid for this inferior work. I had several estimates and their sales people are convincing but their work left me feeling regret even after 1 year!.. I called to have a supervisor come out and he said everything was done right. If you compare mine with the pictures they showed me, mine looked nothing like their examples. They added a sump pump and charge over $250 a year for maintenance. They did give me one free maintenance check and the worker said I had cheap plastic under there, I purchased the wrong kind! For the price of over $6000 they should have put the best in there and sealed the ends so water can't just set on top of the plastic! Don't waste your money with them! Falcon looked at it and a few smaller companies. They felt bad for me, and I'll have to pay thousands more to get it into the shape I expected it to be in the first place!!! read more

Warning about DryPro: We had our crawlspace encapsulated for a cost of over $19,000.00 We were told by their salesman that the system would be covered for life as long as we paid the annual maintenance fee of $110. We had our first inspection on 7/20 and were told we needed an inhancment of the system for $616.00 and the maintenance fee is now $256.00. Also the dehumidifier is only under warranty for 5 years instead of life as we were told by their salesman. Buyers beware! I have done business with Dry Pro for many years and spent a substantial amount of money on their services, and I was perfectly satisfied until recently. On January 18th I signed a contract with Dry Pro, along with a deposit of $4,240.72. They came to do the work 2/1/24, only after being on site for a brief period, the foreman determined they could not do the work and left the site! I have since hired someone else who did the work. For over a week I made at least 20 "unreturned" phone calls to Ryan Chipman, until this Monday. He told me they had incurred some expenses (speaking with an engineer and labor for coming to my house). Should not have been my problem since they inspected the site prior to the contract. However, I agreed they could deduct those fees from the initial deposit. I called Mr. Ryan Chipman yesterday and asked when I would receive my deposit. His said 2 weeks! I need that refund to pay the current contractor who is replacing Dry Pro (who could not do the work and had broken the contract) My issue, why is Dry Pro holding my refund for two weeks when I paid them the deposit the day I signed the contract and my check cleared the bank a few days after I wrote it. They took my deposit immediately and I should expect the refund immediately. Some of the employees at Dry Pro that went above and beyond in assisting me were Blake, Phillip, Kelly, Brittany and several others whose names I can not recall who answered my dozens of calls trying to speak to Mr. Chipman. As of 2/25/24 I have not received the reimbursement! Doesn't appear to me that they expedited the payment, otherwise I would have it by now! Very unhappy customer!. I was taken advantage of with this company. I asked for a concrete quote and the guy went in my crawl space and told me I had 20K worth of work. It was a total scam and stresses us out. After getting other professionals to take a look it was confirmed we were being lied to about what was in the crawl space of our new home. The previous owners just spent $20k to fix all of the issues. I would not trust this company. Run don't walk. read more

I have only received a quote (or quotes for two options at this point) so my evaluation so far is based on the presentation: The good: Very thorough review of crawl space, the rep spent several hours, inspected thoroughly and presented findings, backed up by many photos. Way it should be done. The not so good: Using the "if you do it today we'll take x% off.." bait. That's an old tactic that I personally rejected years ago. This usually is due to a 100% commission-based salary and the salesman has to negotiate based on what he can afford to sacrifice, and I disapprove of that. Two options presented, both very expensive. Top option included mold remediation, basic one (8K lower) did not. When asked why, I was told basically that you didn't need the mold remediation in the costly option because with the dehumidifier (offered in both options) the mold will naturally be eradicated and won't grow because of the low humidity. I hope readers will see why this is a logical contradiction. Lastly, Groundworks owns Dry Pro, if you feel a warm glow that it is employee-owned, it is not. The rep told me that at the outset and then followed up later with saying that it is owned by Groundworks. Another contradiction. Now, maybe they have a employee stock ownership plan, but that is not the same thing. In fact Groundworks owns some 15 companies employed in the crawl space business. read more

My d​ehumidifier was out for 5 days or more. I went to the crawl space and alarm was on and water in the floor. The flooring in my sunroom started to buckle. i would like to share my experience with everone thats looking to use Dry Pro. I just had estimates done and DRY Pro got the job . I have a 2 car garage that the corner is cracked and has dropped .i had DRY Pro out here for an est. several yrs ago and didnt follow up so fast forward i had them come back out the second time for another est. they assured me not a problem we can lift that corner with our foam product. i was happy to hear that agreed to give them a down payment and sign there contract (which i guess means nothing ) ANYWAY the workmen show up on time as scheduled and tell me that its not possible to do the repair as quoted in the contract its going to be alot more money and needs a completely different repair (this is after they had done two estimates for the same job)?????? We found out we had mold underneath our house and we called around for estimates and Dry Pro just happened to be the last place we called and Kyle was the guy who came out and went over everything about removing the mold and having the encapsulation done. ***Warning*** I committed to having Dry Pro fix my foundation issues back in October 2021. Scope of work was scheduled for Feb 14-19, 2022. Work was not completed as scheduled. Dates/days got skipped, without notice. Scope of work was changed without explanation, although an Engineer previously authorized what had to be done. I requested a call from upper management multiple times. To date, no one has called. Dry Pro's communication is poor. Additionally, if you did speak with anyone at Dry Pro, their story was always different and lacked cohesion with everyone else. I regret committing to Dry Pro. Confusion and missteps by Dry Pro have led me to question everything that was done. Was the work completed correctly, or did they cut corners? We had Dry Pro encapsulate our crawlspace in 2009 to prevent moisture and mold, and couldn't be happier with the result. They installed two french drains in the floor and thoroughly cleaned and dried the space, then covered the walls and floor with a moisture barrier. Finally, they installed a dehumidifier to keep the humidity content steady, and placed a sensor in the crawlspace so we could monitor the humidity via a weather station in our house. We get compliments all the time from service people on how nice it is to work in our crawlspace! But the greatest--and most unexpected--benefit is how well the encapsulation has helped to maintain comfortable temperatures in our house. And our heating and A/C bills were lowered as well! Dry Pro continues to provide annual checks on our dehumidifier, and they recently installed a PVC entry door that looks better and will withstand the elements much better than our wood door. Their service personnel are always polite and conscientious, and I've never been anything but pleased with their staff. It's not cheap to encapsulate a crawlspace, but it adds value to your home by protecting you against mold growth, and helping you to maintain comfortable temperatures in your home. We are so glad we did this with Dry Pro, and highly recommend them for this service! read more

Casey Crotty came to my house to do the Annual Maintenance and after he finished and explained what all he checked and what he did he recommended battery back up on my pump. This was the day the Hurricane was passing through and our winds had picked up some. He returned the next day and put the backup battery on the pump. Shop your quote from these boys and consider buying the stuff and doing it yourself. If you did buy, be wary of the "annual service" visit. My original $3000-4000 package to clean up mold and seal off a crawl space included a $1500 dehumidifier and after a few years it stopped pulling water from the air. I signed up for a $134 service visit, and dude says I need a whole new dehumidifier unit, hoses and sump pump for a total price over $2,700 just 5 years after spending all that $. Included in their quote was $700 for a sump pump you can get on Amazon for $360. I called the office and they told me the dehumidifier is not repairable so I passed on their ridiculous $2700 quote, went under the house myself, noticed he didn't bother turning the dehumidifier off even though it wasn't pulling moisture out of the air anymore, and dragged it out of the crawl space by myself on a skate board. I brought it to an appliance repair shop, and they replaced a part for $75 and charged $75 labor. Reality should have been $134 and $150 to fix the unit. What did I ultimately get for $134? A new AA battery in the temp/humidity sensor and a new friend at my local appliance repair shop. Found out I overpaid for my original installation package because they charged 2-3 times what the materials cost if I had bought the stuff myself and sealed off the crawl space myself. I also feel I'm out $134 because he didn't really service much--annual service package price includes a new filter, but since he said the unit wasn't repairable, I didn't get one. All I got was bad advice to replace something at a huge premium vs market valve when it was easily repaired. read more

Rich Pace explained the process and costs thoroughly and honestly and was able to schedule the waterproofing within a week. Juan R and Sean W installed the barrier and equipment in two days.
