However, we were not notified of any injury at the time it occurred or when we picked him up. To this day (weeks later) MAGE has been unable to tell us how or when our son was injured that day. Due to our son's age, he was unable to articulate what happened, but it is obviously unlikely he did this to himself. Due to the lack of information provided by MAGE, the pediatric doctor requested x-rays to eliminate the possibility of a broken bone. After x-rays revealed no broken bones, his arm was adjusted back into place. We were asking for 100% reimbursement of the $530 for the x-rays which was our out-of-pocket after insurance, and MAGE denied our request. We are very dissatisfied with how this was handled.

From the top down, every single person that will be around your children is a special person and one the genuinely will care for and enjoys being around your kids. Communication is perfect via their app. You can get a live stream of your child's room during the hours they're open. No extra charge. Summer Camp. Biggest yard/playground you will see. Serious acreage back there! All this stuff is a great plus, but our kids have been here and will remain here because of the people. I wanted to list all of their names but that's probably not a good idea. I will always credit Childtime Glen Ellyn for providing the first formal education and roots for both of my daughters. I have not written a Yelp review for several years but felt compelled to present another view of Hadley. First, the review is from 2011 and focuses on the enrollment and a chaotic lunchroom. With regard to enrollment, Hadley does indeed have a large student population. However, the large enrollment has not been a factor for my children. The Administration, counselors and teachers seem to have a very strong handle on all of it, the building runs smoothly and is staffed by incredibly competent and outstanding educators and professionals. With regard to the characterization of the lunch period, I do know there have been significant changes in the lunchroom, including grouping of each grade in a specific lunch period. Moreover, it is a junior high lunchroom, its going to be "chaotic" simply by definition. Hadley is a strong part of our education community and Steve Diveley and his team should be commended for making 2018 Hadley an outstanding example of how a school with a large enrollment should run.

Point of view for every grade…read more In sixth grade it's slow dragged out and boring. The teachers are neutral but it depends what side you decide to get on for them. It's the best grade there is but that's it a compliment. Seventh grade This grade is a train wreck from many angles. The teachers can be really strict and snap on out for no reason but to do it. Every quarter there's a reward for "skills" but they went beyond doing four they did about 10 and it got washed out and annoying. Eighth grade The grade is filled with expectations and lost assignments. The teachers are average to good but a small percentage of them can be hypocritical strictish and abusing of their power. But the assignments are kinda pointless but to only help prepare for high school. The students are average and the grades that they get are good the school can teach kids but In a inefficient way but the students are the best part of the school with most of them in above average classes.

The overall culture felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable, like parents were an inconvenience instead of being valued. They forced us to take our shoes off "for cleanliness," yet the place was dirty, smelled awful, and clearly not well maintained. Meanwhile, the director kept her shoes on, which was hypocritical and disrespectful. During the tour there was only one teacher in the room while kids were roaming freely with little to no supervision. The director barely spoke, just stood there, rushed the tour, and gave almost no real information. Then she chased us outside afterward to suddenly explain things she should have covered inside. Completely unprofessional. Nothing about this place felt safe, clean, or nurturing. The attitude, lack of supervision, and poor environment were enough to make us walk away immediately. I was referred here by a family friend for guitar and vocals for my daughter and my son. He tried to talk me into guitar with one of the other teachers but I was extremely surprised that the teachers are all kids. I was really excited that they opened up and are so close to my house however they want $300 a month to have a 22 year old teach your child. I also was not very excited by the fact that for $300 a month my children would not be learning any theory only music for the show that they would be putting on. When I asked if they could also throw theory and some structured learning in I was told if there is time after they work on the assigned songs that they would be allowed to do so. The man I was speaking with could sense my disdain and got very pushy and when he found out that my children have been in music lessons since they were 3 years old he became very adamant about me joining and talking about the show team and other performance programs my kids could be in, Normally I would be a proud mama bear to hear someone wanting my kids to be part of something so badly, but truthfully I do not want to pay for my children to be in a band I want to pay for my children to have lessons from an accomplished adult so they can learn to play better, not be put on a "show team" to play songs and never learn anything new. I felt as though I was at a used car lot the way the man was talking to me. I also just got a strange vibe off of him. He seemed burned out or like he may have been on something. Definitely not someone I would feel comfortable leaving my child with. I was super disappointed because I had heard such wonderful things about the vocal instructor and the guitar instructor, I was upset to find out that they had left the school, especially when they did not have sufficient teachers to fill their spots. All they could offer as replacement was early 20 somethings to replace them. Basically I got a very bad vibe off of the place. When I visited the only people who were there were the burnt out manager, the guitar teacher who is in his early 20's and the vocal instructor (who I had already been told was not sufficient and that you don't want her, you want to make sure you get the vocal keys teacher).. So all in all I would say skip school of rock glen ellyn and go to school of rock naperville. Thats what I ended up doing. The teachers there are of adult age and have resumes as opposed to the glen ellyn school where the teacher are in college and just working a job. If you go to their website do not be fooled in the staff section the guitar teacher who I was going there to try and sign up with is still on there as the music director which I feel is sneaky and misleading, he is not there anymore they just keep him on there to make them look like they have someone on staff that can actually teach music.

He had a blast and took to the drums like a fish out of water. Fast forward we enrolled him in Absolute Beginners camp in the summer - with a show on the Friday of the camp. We were amazed at how all the kids learned and preformed several songs after 1 week. Fall we enrolled in lessons and Performance Program. All the kids learn at an incredible rate with weekly one on one's as well as weekly 3 hour rehearsal with his group. I feel it would have taken years at a lower cost lesson only program for him to get to the level he's at in 5 months. In addition all of the staff and other kids are awesome. School of Rock will quickly become a second family for anyone who attends.

They took good care of my family and the other two families that had parental deaths when I attended here. The teachers were great here I learned a lot. I was scoring in the high 90th percentile sin everything on every test I took after I left here. I owe them big time for that. They challenged me. I was in town the day the church burned...I saw it all smoky and crispy. Sad, sad, sad. I had my first communion here too. My mother, two classmate's parents and my great-grandmother's funerals were here. I was an alter girl too when I was a kid. I used to run around the church after school. This is the place that put the fear of G-d in me and keeps me agnostic rather then atheist as I go through that whole "I'm an adult - know what" thing. The spiritual education I got here kept me on a fairly straight path most of my life... The new church is AMAZING, huge and endless. They tore down the rectory and the convent and now have what I think is the largest and most beautiful community faith centers I have ever seen.

15 years ago we chose Montessori Education for our children. It was an investment we were…read morepassionate about. WMS offered the perfect conditions to nurture and "grow" our children. I wrote an essay years ago, Locally Grown, about our experience of the treasured early elementary years. Fast forward and our oldest is graduating High School and youngest is a freshman. As a family, we are compelled to share our honest and sincere feedback of this experience from a retrospective perspective. These thoughts have been communicated with the head of school directly however, we feel called to share publicly as to offer insight to those families considering the AP. Our children's recommendation is: "Stay through 6th and skip the AP". The Adolescent Program at WMS presents a conflicting experience for several students and families, highlighting significant concerns and areas for improvement. While the school claims to provide a holistic approach to education, it falls short in crucial areas, leaving some students unprepared for the challenges of high school. The AP  has strayed far from the original Montessori philosophy, which emphasized neutrality, respect for individuality, and a focus on grounded, thoughtful education. The current approach has deviated from those principles, favoring an agenda-driven model that seems to place the needs of its teachers above those of the students. The most striking issue is the lack of preparation in foundational subjects, especially math and writing. My oldest states she was at a disadvantage due to the insufficiency in these core areas, leading to regret and frustration as struggled to catch up in her freshman year. She expressed she was profoundly underprepared for the rigor of her high school, acknowledging the gap could have been much wider had we not chosen to leave the AP before the completion of the 9th year. The social environment at WMS also presents challenges. We observed evident favoritism towards certain students, creating an atmosphere of exclusion and uneven attention. Additionally, teachers engage in questionable behaviors, including texting students and discussing other students in a negative light both in front of students and sometimes parents. A total lack of integrity. The teacher-student dynamic often feels less like a mentorship and more like a friendship-seeking relationship which undermines the authority and maturity required in an educational setting. For example, encouraging students to experiment with nail polish, twerking, and other frivolities rather than teaching math and writing. Some teachers seem more interested in fulfilling their own emotional needs through vulnerable adolescents than providing the guidance, wisdom, and leadership that students require. The program's attempt at inclusivity and open-mindedness is overshadowed by a lack of neutrality. Teachers actively promote personal social beliefs, leaving little room for objective discussion or diverse perspectives. The curriculum, too,  leans heavily into certain ideologies, and teachings, creating an atmosphere of comparison, while neglecting broader educational goals. As parents, we were told by staff "The adolescent brain is broken " and they will struggle with decision making and managing emotions. Indeed, the adolescent brain's developmental limitations are not adequately considered in decision-making. The emphasis on identity exploration, and identity-dependent worthiness, adds to the confusion and emotional turmoil during a period when students should be focusing on personal growth and academic development.  Our observation has been that the adolescent program has strayed from"following the child" to "following the cause".  A distinct contrast to the original Montessori philosophy, which emphasized neutrality, respect for individuality, and a focus on grounded, thoughtful education. The current approach appears to favor an agenda-driven model that often places the needs of the school and its teachers above those of the students. In conclusion, while the WMS Adolescent  Program may appeal to some families for its progressive approach, it is our determination it falls short in preparing students for future academic success and personal development. A return to the original Montessori mission--focusing on respect, objective learning, and appropriate developmental guidance--could better serve the needs of these adolescents during one of the most critical stages of their growth. Investing in a Montessori education was a good parenting decision but pulling them from the Adolescent Program was our greatest decision.

He attended preschool and Kindergarten (primary ages), and Montessori learning has been wonderful for his development. Thank you particularly to Mrs. Berdick for her help in bringing our boy out of his shell even more and helping him excel academically but also in his independence. We plan to have him enrolled through 9th grade, and we can't wait to be long-term members of this great community.
