The Guesthouse is privately owned and you can tell because it has a very individual feel that no chain of hotels can really replicate. The rooms are a good size and given the location being in the center of the city it's not really too noisy when at night. Breakfast is also inlcuded in the price which is a bonus. It's only 10 minutes wlk to the main shopping area of Grafton Street from here and it's also very close to the infamous Temple Bar area. Overall it's an enjoyable experience to stay at the Lyndon Guesthouse and I'll definitely stay there again.

Thankfully we got an en suite room because sharing a bathroom with the entire guesthouse is not my cup of tea. We found it difficult to actually find the place but i think that was due to google maps. Not a place I'd like to stay if i was heading on a night out due to it being a long uphill walk. When we arrived there was no one at reception to let us in the building so we had to ring them to say we were outside. After a bit of a frustrating booking confusion we were able to go to our room. Up seven flights of stairs! I'm lazy so that was tough but i managed haha. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues and not wheelchair accessible that i noticed. Breakfast is not included in the price but is only a fiver. I can't comment on the quality because we had meet ups planned in the city each morning so never ate the food. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was clean....except for those little mini milks. A few were open and mouldy but we'd bought our own milk at the shop anyway so it didnt bother us. Walls are thin so any arguments or ahem adult activities can definitely be heard. Was surprised by how little outside noise we heard. I expected it to be loud out in the street with traffic and just general city sounds but it was very quiet thankfully. It was a lovely cozy room and the shower was perfect. Bathroom was spotless. Good location once we found it lol, getting around the city was very straight forward. If you like walking then this great location means that taxis are practically unnecessary. We used none. A few minor and esentially unimportant negatives about this place but overall had a very enjoyable stay here. The free wifi was a bonus!

Ours was perfectly fine with a double and two single beds as well as en suite bathroom with stall shower. Quirky bathroom is fun, but it could use one table or piece of furniture for guests to place clothing or toiletries on while showering. Very accommodating, welcoming greeters. Easy few minute walk to Grafton Street, Merrion Square, Trinity - a very good location for walking access to the sights of Dublin. Plenty of food, convenience stores, cafés nearby for your stay. A minus would be thinness of the walls. Reasonable people in next room with deep, post-pubbing voices were audible in conversation and laughter as if in the same room. But if you bring your ear buds and let Gaelic music lull you to sleep, you will get a good night's rest in the Fitzwilliam's comfy beds. Good room in a good location for a good rate.

Great value, fantastic location, and wonderful staff. Everyone we dealt with was warm and accommodating (sorry I didn't get all their names but Sara was very helpful!). Love the breakfasts (thanks to the ladies in the kitchen!). And even though there was a water issue one of the days we were there, the staff were on it as quickly as they could be, bringing us extra bottled water in the immediate short term and making alternative arrangements for the long run (which didn't end up being needed since the issue was resolved in due course but it was nice to know we were looked after (also appreciated the partial refund, thank you!)). There are lots of stairs and the place definitely has the Georgian vibe (I.e., if you're looking for fancy slick accommodations, you're gonna wanna look for a cookie cutter hotel somewhere else) but this place's character and style is not uncommon in my experience with the townhouse hotels in Dublin. If you're looking for a great location (walking distance to everything) with a thoughtful staff, the Fitzwilliam Townhouse is a great choice.

This hotel is teeny tiny and pretty over priced for what you get (though I was surprised overall at…read morethe high prices of lodging in Dublin). My friends and I got a triple room, and two of the twins were pushed together in a double. We asked the night receptionist if we could get them separated and she sort of abruptly said "unzip them". (That wasn't the right answer - what about the fact that we had one sheet set and comforter and no way to set up one bed into two). We ended up having an awkward bed share night that we had specifically tried to avoid in advance, so that was annoying. Breakfast is sad - some cold cereal and bread and some juices from boxes. Coffee is powdered. When I checked under the bed for a ring I thought I had lost, I saw maybe why they didn't bother to separate the beds - the floor underneath was disgusting, with food and dirt and dust. There is no lobby to speak of, just a narrow hallway where the receptionist sits. There are elevators, which is nice and was about the last elevator I saw in the rest of my Ireland hotels. The location is good, within walking distance to Temple Bar and the Guinness Storehouse and some of the other receptionists and the bartenders were nice. All in all, it wasn't horrible, but there is probably a lot better for the amount it cost.

The room had a standard according to the price. Actually a little bigger than expected, but the view was horrible. Looked straight into another room or down a messy and dirty backyard. However, we were not staying for the view, so that was really no biggie. What gave this hotel our low opinion was the (lack of) cleaning. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months, there was hair and dust and dirt all over. We actually felt like and did clean the bathtub before we intended to use it, but after cleaning the hope for a nice and warm bath quickly died when firstly the water was only luke warm at it's hottest, and secondly, but most importantly, it was filled with brown dirt floating around in the water! The cleaning staff looked more interested in taking cigarette brakes than doing their job, smoking often and for long periods on time just outside the hotel windows, throwing their cigarettes down on the ground below. We will not return to this hotel ever again.
