Prices are pretty standard for an antique shop -- some of the furniture can get a little pricey, but for the most part it's a reasonable buying experience.

The sales lady was super friendly and gave me some quick tips on how to use it. I was thankful for her kindness. This is definitely the place for those who love the thrill of the hunt. They had some very cute things and some great finds. I will be back when it is a little cooler! Prices were reasonable and actually on the lower side when compared to other antique shops I have been to here in TN.

I can very easily see this being the next big antique/vintage store for Johnson City. If she gets a couple vendors with some vintage clothes and some southwestern jewelry perhaps (just something beyond grandmas pearl necklaces and fake glass earrings) whoooo! She'd have it made. Truly loved the reasonably priced WIDE variety of tasteful 70s/80s vinyl. Not your average Goodwill stuff. And all the 70s deco furniture made my heart ache for a house to decorate and the $$ to do so. With a record player at the door playing some Paul Simon, the native rugs on the floor, and the case of 35mm cameras by the register, this place is going somewhere.

Elk Street has that timeless "Main Street USA" feel that compells you to shop there so you can support the American dream. Picket Fence simply caught my eye because it is a corner store and they had a nice selection of antique glassware on display in the window. Since I was looking for a glassware gift, I got sucked in. I had no idea what I was in for. Picket Fence is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. It's your typical antique mall where vendors rent out little cubbies of space to display their wares. The walkways between the cubbies are spacious enough to accomodate patrons with mobility issues, but some of the cubbies themselves are so crammed with merchandise I could barely navigate my able body 360 degrees without knocking something over. Selection really ran the gammut. Lots of glassware, kitchen wares, collectibles, kitsch. Some books, albums, a little clothing, jewelery. And allllll the way at the back of the store (where it's definitely NOT handicap accessible) is a smattering of antique furniture that made me wish I was in the market for a rocking chair. Prices were overall, extremely reasonable, much more so than I am acccustomed to in NJ. I only visited one other antique shop in Elizabethton so I can't really compare it to others, but I think you could spend about week or so exploring them all. Each shop has it's own treasures just waiting to be unearthed. You never know what you're going to find! I was really tempted by that Alf glass!

We had been looking for a nice three tiered fountain for awhile and this place looked promising. We were greeted warmly and offered assistance but we chose to walk around and check out all the statuary in their yard before settling on a lovely three tier fountain with pineapple top and a beautifully hand painted (by proprietor Brad) garden gnome. We learned that all the statues are made right there on the premises and that it was a multi-generational family business. Brad and his assistant were gracious enough to package up and load our purchases the following day when we headed back home to North Carolina. If y'all are in the Eastern Tennessee area and in need of garden statues or fountains this is the place to visit. Huge selection at truly wholesale prices.

They only had coins in the cash register and couldn't give me change. I offered to pay with my credit/debit card and was told that "we would rather keep the book than have to pay the fee on selling this to you with a card". WHAT?? I offered to pay with cash?!? So I told him to keep the book and look for my review of his store on Yelp. He said "ok".
