This new donut shop just opened recently and I have to say, it could very well put Krispy kreme and dunkin donuts out of business. The donuts are made fresh to order, completely customizable flavors and toppings and they are OH SO GOOD! I got a half dozen with various flavors, ate 2 the first day, and had another for breakfast the following morning. If you're interested in donuts, this place is worth checking out. Oh my! This place is awesome. The donuts are delish! I love it, the donuts aren't as sweet as Krispy Kreme and I don't feel like I'm eating plain sugar. Don't get me wrong I like Krispy Kreme, however, this place is on a level of it's own. The variety and option to customize your donuts is pretty awesome! Duck Donuts is slightly over-hyped. The donuts are different, more cakey than the average donut and while they are good, they are fairly small and overpriced. Since they've been open for a while now there isn't frequently much of a line, so it's easy to swing by on the way to work and pick up some for the office. We got there around 10 and the line was out the door already! It moved surprisingly fast and our order was ready super quick. They have two tables outside which was nice since our dog was with us. I wish there was umbrellas or an awning since the sun beats down right at the store front. All their donuts are cake batter style (which I prefer) and very delicious. We had seen reviews about Duck Donuts and wanted to try it. Upon arriving we were second in line and were able to order within a reasonable amount of time and then waited for our donuts to be prepared. We stood by with another couple that had ordered just before us watching other customers come and go for quite a while. After 20 minutes I asked how long before our order would be ready and the girl behind the counter looked and found our order number and stated we're working on it now. An additional 5 minutes went by when the other couple said could you please tell me when our one donut is going to be ready it's been 25 mins for just one donut. They immediately made the one donut and handed it to the couple who were understandably very upset. We continued to wait another 5 minutes when I finally asked for a refund and they hurried and slapped together the half dozen order. I took the donuts went to the car and then realized that we didn't receive what we had ordered. So I went back into the store and told them that it wasn't the right order, they then responded yes it is this donut is the ..... and so on. I guess the pictures don't look anything like what they actually make. So I took the donuts and left. Of course upon trying them they were not the correct flavors we ordered and they were of poor quality and taste. If there was a zero star rating that is what I would be giving. Awful experience and truly 35 min wait after checking the receipt time for 6 donuts that were horrible. Never again. read more

So truth be told, despite my husky appearance donuts aren't really my thing. I pass a Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts everyday on my way to and from work and never stop. While in Portland Oregon (and again in Austin, TX) I was intrigued by Voodoo Doughnut and was blown away by their maple bacon doughnut, so when I heard Duck Donuts had a version of this my wife and I came by to try. But we left. The line was out of the door and around the building. Twice this happened. Yesterday we came in and left and did our shopping and came back. It was worth it. So the Maple Bacon, was nothing like Voodoo except for the name. This is a more traditional donut w/ maple glaze and bacon bits. It was still hot and amazing, just not the same as I had had before. I also had the lemon coconut (two of my favorite flavors) and it was also great. Reminded me of lemon pound cake w/ coconut toppings. My wife had a chocolate glazed w/ oreos on top. Had to go buy some milk to wash that one down. She also had the salted caramel chocolate donut. It was good too. Place it great if you like donuts. If you're just a glazed person go to KK or DD. Had duck donuts catered for a work breakfast. Most of the items were pretty good. Not stellar. I also was not impressed with the "to go" boxes. Generally restaurants want customers to be seen carrying these to advertise for their business. Duck Donut's charged $2 per to go box. Considering this was quite an expensive catered breakfast for more than 60 people you would think they could throw in some to go boxes free of charge. read more

Everyone needs to try this place. You will forget about Krispy Creme. I did not see any pre-made doughnuts here. In fact, you get to choose your topping. The doughnuts are delicious without anything.
