There always seems to be a pump available when I need it. 3. It's darn clean. 4. Also, the bathroom is big enough. 5. There always seems to be a bathroom available when I need it. 6. And, the bathroom is darn clean, too. And the people who work here have always been super friendly (then again my interactions have been limited to zooming past them en route to the loo). I used to come here a lot when I worked in Portland, but lived in Lewiston because it was a nice midway point between the two, and if I was playing the "how long can I go with my gas light on before it's too late" or "how long can I go before my bladder actually bursts" games, it was usually about here that I would give in. Also, if you're on I-95 and you're looking for a reliable place to stop that's SUPER close to the highway... consider Exit 53. My onnnnnnnneeeee issue? You're not supposed to take a left out of here (left = the way back to the turnpike, the Hannaford strip mall, Route 100 into Portland). I mean, I definitely do take a left out of here and haven't been yelled at yet, but you're not supposed to. I've never seen it busy enough here to warrant the rule, but you've been warned!

However, this little gas station sits at the juncture of Winn Road and Route 9 (Main Street) and is a godsend if you are running on fumes during their business hours. Otherwise you may be pushing your car to Cumberland Shell. The usual beer, cigs, lottery tix are available but, surprise, you can also buy homemade food prepared by the Bangladeshi matriarch, although it's not a sure thing. I've never been inside the building: I have no idea what the staff is like or if the store itself is clean. I just come here for gas. Before it's big renovation I would have NEVER come here because of its location. But it seems like since this Cumby has been updated, there's *much more* space to navigate in and out of the parking lot safely and easily (although I'd never turn left into it from Ocean Ave; I always make sure I'm turning right from Washington in). I seem to always be able to immediately pull up to a pump without having to wait in line. In and out? Yes!

If you can manage to get something cooked correctly it might be worth it. If your driving go a few miles and stop at BurgerKing instead. All in all, foot traffic go to town and try it. Parking situation here is quite lacking unless you are getting gas at the pumps. If you have visited a Circle K or really any gas station connivence store you know what to expect. A spot worth grabbing drinks or a quick snack typically for long road trips otherwise you can find a better option. We almost missed out on our reason for our visit today due to one of their slushie machines clearly having an issue. Red slushie all over the floor in a giant mess. Lots of paper towels down and a wet floor sign. It was still running enough for us to get a Coke slushie at least. They also had someone outside asking for money as soon as you got close to entering the store. You can find better gas station stores in the area for sure.
