Service was fast and polite and they even offered us English language menus as they saw me struggling to translate the Italian! Food was hot and beautiful seasoned, I asked the waitress if I could move in. Yes it's hip and there's no art on the walls but the fact it was packed from start to finish says they are doing something right and the something right is the food which speaks for itself. If you find yourself in Treviso then do yourself a favor and search this place out.

I would suggest to park the car in the restaurant car park and to walk along the river for about 30 minutes. You will walk through viniards and get some spectecular views of the river (of course the sun will set too early for this in winter). Back at the restaurant you will be offered a (in our case) complimentary prosecco and the waiter will tell you the anti pasti, primi and secondi of the day. The anti pasti and primi are small enough to go for each of them and still have the main course (secondo). There are about three or four anti pasti and primi to choose from yet the secondi are all different kinds of steak (with a selection of side dises). The restaurant has it's own buchery and it seems that every night a heifer (cow that never gave birth) is slaughtered and the different parts of the heifer are showcased in a showcase you would find a the bucher's. We were patiently told what the caracteristics of each peace are. After choosing the kind of meat (the cut), you can choose how much of it you want. You can give them a weight and will later pay per 100 grams. We did not try a desert. The food was delicious, the admosphere romantic (candles on the table but also around the garden pattio, white sheets draped from the ceiling). The owner of the place seems to be a famous man. The restaurant is full of photos of him with 'famous' people. George Clooney is one of them, although the foto did not seem to be taken in the restaurant. Ok, I will make a list what is great: - A hip, 'young', yet Italian decoration (with Wi-Fi) - The food is served in a very alternative way. In jars, coloured square plates, beautifully decorated, with quality glasses and cutlery. - The food is clearly freshly made. Even the chocolate in the chocolate biscuit (desert served with vanilla mouse) tasted 'home made'. - The menu lists gluten-free items - The staff is willing to help you with your choice. I don't know much about wine so they suggested one to me. Last night we were there and the waiter knew the name of the wine my girlfriend wanted, before my girlfriend asked for it. - The restaurant has a wine store where the wine bottles on the menu and many more can be bought. The restaurant is also (just) a bar to 'just have a drink' (and a snack). On Sunday afternoon a la carte lunch is replaced by a buffet only (I did not try).

If you like protein, this is the place for you. The salad with crunchy prosciutto was perhaps slightly underdressed but a wonderful crunchy saltness with fresh greens. The prosciutto was magnificent aged 16 months with an incredible complex flavor. I'm usually a vegetarian and I don't typically eat meat, but I couldn't resist the prosciutto it was really amazing and a huge portion. Share or go with the small.
