I bought a pair of earrings worth about 2.4k through TRR's New Jersey consignment store, and the shipment was handled by UPS. When the package arrived in my country, it was flagged by Customs due to an incorrect declared value. Instead of 200+ tax, I am being charged 2+k, because the value of the earrings was declared at 24k instead of 2.4k I have contacted TRR multiple times over two weeks, often during US business hours, which unfortunately fall in the middle of the night where I live. Despite this effort, the responses were extremely unhelpful. I was repeatedly told to "go back to UPS," even though UPS did not provide the declared value and cannot amend it without the shipper's instruction. TRR promised to correct the declaration, but no correction was actually made. This left me stuck going back and forth between TRR and UPS, with neither taking responsibility for resolving an error that I did not cause. UPS could not clarify who exactly provided the incorrect customs declaration beyond "TRR", and told me to go back to TRR. Customs also informed me that I cannot pay the duties first and claim later. The declaration error must be corrected by TRR, as they arranged the shipment and provided the declared value. As a customer, this has been frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing, especially from a company that deals in luxury goods and international shipments, where accurate customs documentation should be standard practice. This was supposed to be a Christmas present.

Each area of the shop is well curated and items are displayed with thought and care (I thought the basement was organized well IMO). I spent about an hour and a half at Valley Vintage to hit all of the areas, and some time was devoted to flipping through their records. This was well organized and some good finds. I ended up buying a copy of the original soundtrack from The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on vinyl for around $13. It was in good condition and plays. If you like nostalgia and vintage shopping, visit this spot. You may find something one-of-a-kind that appeals to you.

Tucked away on the corner of Bloomfield Ave, along Verona's main drag, Vintage Alley is a veritable treasure trove of awesome vintage finds. The layout of the store allows for easy browsing, with an aesthetic that is at once cozy and chic. The merchandise is well-curated and the prices more than reasonable. The clincher for me was the exceptional service I received from Brittany. A major pet peeve of mine is entering a store and feeling pressured to make a purchase. Over the years, I've found that when dealing with small business retailers in particular, customer service often runs the gamut from overbearing to indifferent. Fortunately, I found none of these to be the case at Vintage Alley. From the moment I walked in the store, I felt at ease and appreciated the fact that Brittany made herself available to offer input and assistance when needed, while allowing me to browse at my leisure. Brittany's love of the store--and vintage in general--is evident in her style and in her nature, the latter of which was equal parts warm, enthusiastic, and genuine. I spent an inordinate amount of time debating between two purchases - a tweed blazer or Paganne dress - before finally settling on the latter and never once did I feel rushed or put upon to make up my mind. To be clear, we're talking multiple try-ons and an excessive amount of hemming and hawing in front of a mirror, with nary a complaint. On those occasions when I offered up an apology for essentially acting out the shopping equivalent of a hung jury, Brittany simply invited me to take however long I needed. I…read moream sorry to say that I had the most unpleasant bra fitting of my life in this shop and I left in tears. Literally when I left and said, I hope you have a nice day, the saleswoman said "I hope you don't!" We were alone in the shop. Who talks like this? Anyway, whatever is in her heart, that's on her. The only reason I can think of her being that angry was my breasts were too big to fit into any bras or swimsuits in her shop. When I'd called the day before to say I needed a fitting, the person I spoke with was so pleasant and cheerful and I could tell she knew her way atriums a tape measure. Sadly that lady was not on duty when I came in the next day! So for those who do not know, the way to fit someone in a bra is NOT to have them try on bras with far-too-small cup sizes in increasing sizes. If you are holding a tape measure please measure my chest as well as my rib cage. And if doing that makes you uncomfortable, please get out of the bra-fitting business.
