We plan on shopping there again this year to see what little trinkets we can find. They also sell gifts and jewellery for all ages. They have little quirky gifts for children, mimicking old style toys like spinning tops and wooden soldiers. They also sell very modern and unique gifts such as Christmas decoration and table lamps in styles of high heels and boots. It really is a little treasure trove with lots of little nooks and crannies to explore.

I'm a vegetarian, so got a Cheese Roll on a seeded roll. They make it on the spot for you, so you can let them know what you want or don't want on it. It's quick service with pre-packaged drinks and snacks available if you want. There's no seating, but it's a couple of minutes' walk around the corner to benches which overlook the Spey River. If you want something quicker and perhaps lighter than a full sit-down meal, Spey Larder will serve you well.

They used to have a larger store and stock Raleigh bikes; however they have now moved to slightly smaller premises just along the road. They do make use of the smaller space they have though, with a vast variety of toys and games available. Staff are keen to make sure you find what you want, and seem to be very knowledgeable. One disappointing thing would be that there wasn't any noticeable access to the upper floor up at the back of the shop and with a pram, it meant that only one of us could look up stairs at any one time.

Tours are guided which limits you to the wandering you can do but is fantastic as you get a good understanding of the five families that at one time or another owned and resided in this amazing house and of course each added their own flair though the building of a tower. Come on a sunny day if you can, the gardens are breathtaking and perfect for a picnic lunch... Unfortunately the day I came it was raining heavily so I only got to enjoy the, from the dry warmth of my car.

They have a large lingerie section up the back where you can buy nice sets or even some socks. The shoe area is quite small but if you ask for something specific it may be a case that they don't have room on the shop floor and they will get it for you from the stock room. Usually the sale rail there is huge, and there is always a bargain to be had. I was even impressed by the tidiness of it all as usually you go in and it looks like a bomb has hit it at sale times!
