Brodie country fayre is a kind of rustic department store near Brodie castle. It has a range of clothes and homewear products. At the back is a department store style restaurant, however, the specials do seem to be just that. I had slow roasted pork with a apple and red cabbage accompaniment in a rich gravy which I really enjoyed. Whilst most of the products weren't for me, the deli section was great. Of course it's a bit pricey, but I think for an occasional treat that's ok, and the quality really was good. I probably won't return to Brodie country fayre for anything but food, but don't let that put you off. If you can spare some time and you're in the area pop in. And if the word saga often appears in your holiday choices, this is probably something you would REALLY enjoy. I'd recommend it.

It's quick service with pre-packaged drinks and snacks available if you want. There's no seating, but it's a couple of minutes' walk around the corner to benches which overlook the Spey River. If you want something quicker and perhaps lighter than a full sit-down meal, Spey Larder will serve you well.

They have a large lingerie section up the back where you can buy nice sets or even some socks. The shoe area is quite small but if you ask for something specific it may be a case that they don't have room on the shop floor and they will get it for you from the stock room. Usually the sale rail there is huge, and there is always a bargain to be had. I was even impressed by the tidiness of it all as usually you go in and it looks like a bomb has hit it at sale times!

They do make use of the smaller space they have though, with a vast variety of toys and games available. Staff are keen to make sure you find what you want, and seem to be very knowledgeable. One disappointing thing would be that there wasn't any noticeable access to the upper floor up at the back of the shop and with a pram, it meant that only one of us could look up stairs at any one time.

The staff are friendly and the shop usually looks neat and tidy. They don't have much of stock room, from what they make out so what you see is basically what you get. The shoe selection is limited to what is in fashion now and there is no point in looking if you need a more casual shoe. In my opinion the drive to Inverness is well worth it for the larger New Look.
